I'm glad you kept the actual sounds...that rush of air when sticking your head out the plane for the first time is something you will always remember, even after many jumps! Most skyjumping videos add music..but takes away half the experience!

Im doing this for my 18th in UK, does anyone know if you allowed to film it yourself? theres no way in hell im paying £100 for sum1 to film me :P

its impossible to film yourself, no jumpmaster will let you take a camera up plus you will never get a good angle.

My suggestion, do AFF (advanced freefall course) you will get to jump yourself and it will probably be filmed.

Id rather pay 100£ to be filmed than £1500 for the full course lol, although i do want to do it when im older, is there no way to just sticky tape a camera to my head im not really bothered about the angle as long as I have proof :P

I would severely doubt it, there are special helmets which have cameramounts on them, but they will probably cost in excess of £100, plus your video will be crap from that angle. I turned 18 about 4 months ago and have already done 4 jumps, most amazing thing ever, I haven't paid for a video yet as I don't see the point. The experience is amazing.

I do my jumps at hibaldstow near Scunthorpe, it is costing me 1500 for the full course of 18 jumps with instructors and filming and ground school etc. Hib' is great because they jump from 15,000 feet which not all places do.

yeah, I know what you mean, it is friggin expensive, you should definitely consider doing it one day though, fucking amazing, I'm already hooked. I was at Hib at the weekend and these guys did a UK first formation, it's amazing how many world champions and stupidly good pros you meet. One day I'll be as good... maybe.

actually if you jumped from 3000ft youd be an idiot, skydivers jump from more like 11,000 to 14,500ft... however there is a safety device in the chute that will blow at like 2,500ft or so incase the diver were unconcious and unable to open the chute on their own... this would prevent the chute from opening... but on a normal jump you open the chute anywhere from 4000-6000ft.
