  • Why does this video only have 66,439 views?! Oh yea, cause I watched it 66,000 times. haha jk but seriously, views should be in the millions. Most chill song I've heard in years.

  • Brandon is so passionate. I love him. :)

  • probably the best song on the album and its a b side

  • Comment removed

  • This song is so good that I probably listened to it a hundred times.

  • Lyrically 'If not now when' was one of Brandon's best, musically it was fuckin boring. This track is sick but

  • I really think they have been purposely avoiding putting out their best songs as singles. I mean Punch Drunk, Look Alive, now this song and Rebel Girls off the new album...all have the potential to be HUGE on the radio. But then they would be grouping themselves in with all the mainstream crap out there. Hearing older stuff like Drive or Wish You Were Here on the radio is fine with me - but the real music lovers and Incubus fans know where to look for real, heartful and just plain good rock.

  • This is one of my favorites of their new ones. I dont think i really fell in love with anything on adolscents. The B-Sides is where its at. ;]

  • lyrically this song has a similar feel to sting&police's message in a bottle.

also this song is so sick. eargasms galore

  • absolutely love this song!!

  • this is probably my favorite song that they have released recently. I didnt like their new album too much.

  • no me canso de escuchar esta canción !!!

    <3<3<3<3

  • Jose, never ceases to amaze !

  • @bruscout12 Funny story about jose, when I heard the new album I was a bit disappointed in its simplicity.. then I really paid attention to what he was doing and I was like.. wow.. whole other level of subtle complexity. I HATED this album vehemently for its first 3 months of release, then I just opened my mind and listened to it and its in their top 3 for me. The writing ability of this band is a monster, this album connected new and old, not in heavy-ness but in style and theory.

  • going to see the guys tonight @ dte in Detroit, hope they play this song, this is f&$#ing great !

  • i get caught in a trance when i listen to this....i like the live version a lil better than studio cuz of the delay effect and the rawness.....god this band is amazing!

  • Admiro muito o Incubus!!!! Eles são excelentes músicos. Amoooo!!!

  • i pre-ordered the album and didnt get the download..can somebody help?

  • @schlep90 you should have downloaded it when u downloaded the full album.

  • this takes a spot on my top 5 Incubus track list.

  • - Why is this song NOT on INNW? It's boggling.

  • @Francisah because INNW is brilliant enough without it. i would like to see it on there, but the flow on INNW is pretty fucking sweet as is

  • @Francisah It is a bonus track if you pre-ordered the album. i've been listening to it since yesterday

  • @Pipoca19 - Yeah, but I mean this should be the first or, at least, the second single off the album! It's so so so so so so good! :D

  • dirk lance couldn't write or perform a bassline like this..... jus sayin.

  • @mcswaggerty dirk could play it. but could not write it.. i need to hear this bass line in the studio version ! damm i bet it sound so much sicker!

  • se aaa cheee iIIIIiiiiii chuchetumare

  • i......neeed......studio....version....now!!!!

  • Has anyone NOTICED how these new tunes they've written are much better, as a matter a fact they have taken (punk alternative modern rock) to a hole new level.

  • this is so good it should be illegal

  • I just recently found out about this song... and boy is it brilliant :'D Incubus never ceases to amaze me ^^

  • How this song failed to make the track list on the new album is beyond me. Its easily better than anything else on "IF Not Now When"

  • @MidwestStyleee i know. this is definitely my favorite out of any of those songs. and what i dont get is why they couldnt just do 12 songs?

  • @MidwestStyleee They recorded it in the studio recently it's a bonus track.

  • @EverLast04x great !!!!!!!!!!!

  • great cheeky cadence on the vox at the end

  • I'm pretty sure this will be a bonus track. Just like Look Alive was on Light Grenades. That song is one of their best and people were just as disappointed back then.

  • oh, brandon, I love you

  • i wish he'd let the guitar speak more at the end... i love these guys but please let a bit of the instruments talk

  • my big question is where can i get this dvd

  • This song is EPIC! Can't believe it isn't listed for the new album though

  • number 1 played song on my itunes

  • such a great song, if this and adolescents are a precursor to the new album I am very excited.

  • @gofastgokart99 this isnt on the new album :(

  • It's not on the album.

  • @zausS4L i know!!! what the fuck is up with that!?

  • Why isn't this song on the new album.. or is it a other songtitle??

  • I think this might be "If Not Now, When", Which would be awesome.

  • I hope this song makes it onto the album since I don't see it on the track listing for "If Not Now, When?" either. I really like this song and it's catchy as hell too, stays in your head for days.

  • If they don't come to canada soon i don't know what i'll do. Waiting in desperate anticipation to see this amazing band live *crosses fingers* with a new album brings a new tour!

  • is this the official title to this song? i just saw the track listing of the new album and there's no "surface to air" I would be devastated if this wasn't there

  • In my opinion, this is better than adolescents, not saying adolescents isnt good, just this is so chilll.

  • @soonerman94 this is better than every song summed up in the last album

  • @realcheesylogin Light grenades yes. Monuments no. Punch drunk is one of my favorite incubus songs.

  • @soonerman94 im talking about If Not Now, When? idiot. There are diamonds in light grenades as well. Not in INNW however

  • @realcheesylogin what the fuck are you talking about, you said this ( being surface to air) is better than every song in the last album, which is monuments, not if not now when, because 1. if not now when hasnt even been released and 2. you cant say its better than every song on INNW becuz uve only heard one song (adolescents), so back on topic, u said its better than every song on last album, and i said no because i like punch drunk from monuments and melodies. Get your shit straight

  • @soonerman94 A torrent has been released with the leak, fucking dipshit. The tracks are: Adolescents, Defiance, Friends and Lovers, If not now, when?, In the company of wolves, Isadore, The original, Promises, promises, Switch Blade, Thieves and Tomorrow's Food. There, spoiled it for you. So shut the fuck up and get YOUR facts straight. I've heard every track a million times trying to like any of it but none of them is as good as surface to air. HENCE, they should've included Surface to air.

  • @realcheesylogin My bad bro, didnt know that, but thanks for letting me know, lol i found the torrent

  • @realcheesylogin Dude, there are many diamonds on INNW, just gotta get into it. It's so much more matured than before

  • @soonerman94 i think they r both great!!!

  • @soonerman94 Agreed, I take to their older albums like Morning View and Make Yourself. That being said I still think the newer albums are good music, just not exactly my kind.

  • its a real u2 type sound

  • perfection

  • reminds me of U2 kinda sorta

  • @wkhmoviez Thx. I saw that and heard the new single...Sounds promising!!!

  • Festival de Maquinaria 2010 ! :D

  • So addicting,thanks Incubus,i missed ya!

  • Wherever you are

    Send out a flare

This is an attempt to connect, edify and dissect

    Send a light

    Send repair

    From surface to air

i seriously wonder why Mr. Boyd isn't the president of the united states of america

  • @Hundur12 I'd register just to vote for him

  • @Hundur12 Indeed....great song writer

  • @Hundur12 i think he says attempt to connect, edify, intersect. but thats what it sounds like to me

  • If Not Now, When? Is the name of the new album!

Look for their new single, Adolescents, to premiere tomorrow at 6pm PST!!!!!

  • que buena la grabacion, hay un dvd de ese dia?, o es solo este video?

  • Jose has gotten so skinny! Brandon is still Beautiful. Mike's still amazing. And that bass soothes soooo good.

  • If anybody noticed, the drum fills Jose does in the beginning of the song expand the quality of this tune's vibe. Amazing. I love them to death.

  • Just..wow <3

  • i love the facial expressions he pulls when he sings

    "i confess, i'm a mess

no egress, alone.. hovering in space"

    0:35 - 0:43

  • What is the name of the new album????????????

  • @angelicmoonfairy "If not now, when?" they just released a single from it called "Adolescents" yesterday

  • Never compare the new music with the old music and you won't be disappointed. That goes for any band.

  • Jose still makes me jizz

  • Incubus are a band that in my opinion are growing with each album(and in a good way )always trying somethin new

  • Incubus are a band that in my opinion are growing with each album

  • I want to know who the one idiot who disliked this video is???? We should find him and throw him in the Idiot Box!!!

  • lo mejor de la tierra!!!!

  • i'm diggin it!

makes me think of morning view meets songs like southern girl. i'm pumped for more new songs :)

  • i'm diggin it!

makes me think of morning view meets songs like southern girl. i'm pumped for more new songs :)

  • youtube finally needs a built in repeat function!

  • Yo estuve ahí.. fue espectacular estar cerca

  • dude its like science meets morning view, how did they do that!!!!

  • @incumikeC hmm...i'm not really hearing the science in this tune, but a combo of those two albums would be the most amazing thing ever.

  • @jrjubach I think incumikeC meant the bass is kinda funky like in some of Science, I want to hear the album as a whole now and yeah if its a combo of the 2 that'd be great or at least really interesting to hear :)

  • can someone tell me the chords at the bridge for guitar? from 2:25

  • I do have to say I hope it gets a little better on an album recording. I'm a huge Incubus fan, but still not too sure about this one. That guitar is so boring right now. Hopefully Einziger will spruce it up a bit. He always does great work. Still hopeful.

  • @naeS1Sean I'd say it's definitely a good thing we're not all like this AaronGottlieb moron. We shouldn't worry about people like him, though. They're not going anywhere good in this life acting like that.

Three cheers for Incubus being amazing and their fans NOT being stupid!

  • @runnin0nbravado acting like what? he's defending a band he likes. you seem like a dick dude

  • @pistolabus There's been a misunderstanding. I'm a huge fan. So is naeS1Sean. When he said, "It'd be impossible for them to get worse," he meant they could never be bad. But, I see how that could have been taken backward.

I thought AaronGottlieb was a non-fan and calling naeS1Sean stupid for being a fan and having an opinion.. which is ridiculous. Still, fan or not, he did call someone stupid for having an opinion about a band and then acted like a jerk about it. Ridiculous.

    Cleared up?

  • @naeS1Sean no your views on incubus are just plain stupid. that's what i meant.

  • @naeS1Sean that was stupid and youre a stupid person for saying it. - stephen colbert.

  • What i would give to have seen this... i actually can't wait for the album.

  • that guitar lick is from the movie, The Running Man

  • @bryanmcdonald420 what part of the movie?

  • a magical song, love all their work, not a single i don't like

  • 1 person looking for Justin Bieber watched this on accident.

  • I love how Incubus changes it up every album to keep them fresh!

so, there sound doesnt get bored. This song is fuckin awesome.

    Incubus=last of the great bands<3

  • I am raping the replay button right now.

  • @PorterMagic

    It has your consent, though.

  • I was there. And yes, I cried of happiness. It was just amazing.

  • who ever dislike

    gets kick in the ass

    gets shot in the head!

  • Definitely evolving

  • Wow man incubus is always dope. Favorite artist hands down.

  • These guys literally NEVER disappoint me. Love their old stuff and their new stuff. This song is awesome, can't wait for the new album!!

  • I love how mature their sound has become. This is great stuff.

  • goddamit i cant wait to hear this as a studio version

  • Oh, you guys connected alright, attempt won.

  • need. more.

  • This sounds great and hopefully a bit more like this in the future.

  • - This may be my favourite Incubus song. I've been a fan for years and years, own all of their albums/DVD's, and this is the best to come from them. Ben Kenney is a groove-master!

  • @Francisah Took the words out of my mouth :)

  • Here's a little present from me to all you Incu lovers out there! Love this song! I just had to rip to MP3. Enjoy!

  • jeez, mike has at least 15 pedals. is it common for bassists/guitarists to have that many? (i'm not a musician, fyi.)

  • @dharmajazzbum usually you would only have 6 or so, delay pedals, distortion. but mikes just got loads since Incubus range every genre, so like jazz pedals, metal pedals, funk ones, everythin :)

  • @timmadamss cool, thanks for the info, timm!

  • @dharmajazzbum anytime :)

  • @timmadamss. Couldn't help it but I chuckled for a moment there. It's true some pedals are more suited for a genre but there is no such thing as "jazz pedals", "funk pedals" or "metal pedals". You can apply every effect in every genre :)

  • @MaartenIB What I meant is, pedals that give those effects, such as jazz tones, metal tones. I didn't mean a pedal which only works for that one genre and nothing else.

  • @timmadamss. Just for the record, i'm not trying to lecture or anything. I just don't know where you are getting this information. Could you give an example of a pedal that will give you a "jazz tone" or a "metal tone"? 'Cause pedals are just adding 'an effect' to your tone in general. If you play on an Engl with the gain wide open, there's no pedal that could suddenly turn it into a jazz tone. You could use a Tubescreamer to make your sound tighter but that doesn't make it a "metal pedal".

  • @MaartenIB Why does this bother you, it doesnt matter that I got your opinion wrong on guitar pedals, there is no need in this conversation, i called it a jazz pedal because i would relate that pedal to creating jazz tones, obviously you could use it for any other genre but i was basically just stereotyping it, im sure you stereotype people so whats the point going on about this to me?

  • @dharmajazzbum I don't know either, but I do know that Mike is extraordinary at his craft, and that makes him and incubus all the more awesome.

  • @dharmajazzbum

Some do, yes. Some others have too many to manage themselves so somebody coordinates them for them. Mars Voltas guitarist is an example of that extreme.

  • - I love this song!!!!!!!!!!! Very groovy!

  • It's amazing to have grown with this band album after album reaching a higher level of maturity yet staying true to themselves. Incubus fo' life. :)

  • I'm now addicted to this song....its intoxicating. The lyrics really draw you in...

  • I find that with a lot of Incubus songs, I'll hear it a couple of times and not really like it a whole lot. Then, maybe a week or two later, the song will pop into my head out of nowhere and I can't get enough of it from then on

  • @kisstharing that is true I love "dig" "paper shoes" and "love hurts" I really think those ARE great songs. I just hope the 2011 album has a more original sound. I want them to break music barriers like they've done in the past. I just think Light Grenades was too repetative with the sound of the tracks on it. I love this band, but as a fan I have my take on this album and I wasn't in "WOW" with this album. Still a good one though.

  • I guess the reason I have liked every incubus album is because I'm a drummer and Jose is my favorite drummer of all time. And while mike's guitar and brandon's voice may have mellowed out (not in a bad way IMO), Jose's drums are always innovative and fascinating to me. I could listen to his beats by themselves and be on cloud 9.

  • amazing! i wait i wait the next album !!

  • Don't like this song.. I feel incubus is losing their originality now days. Light Grenades did me in for them.. Too mainstream.

  • @brandonadkins92 In a sense I agree, Light Grenades was a pretty boring album as a whole, and lacked the magic that Incubus normally brings to the table - but there was a few diamonds in that album, I mean Dig IMO is one of the best Incubus songs ever, and songs like Oil and Water, Diamond and Coal really grew on me and turned into some of my favorites. This new song is pretty chill, and has a pleasing vibe which I like, but if the whole album is this way, its gonna suck.

  • I don't like this song at all.. I think Brandon Boyd is getting a little whiny in his singing. It's true guys. This song kinda makes me feel like they are losing their originality.. Sigh..

  • booooorrring

  • Pretty boring song. Very similar to Light Grenades.

  • @johng816 light grenades was boring?....

  • @jangles89 Light grenades is OK. I really like Rouges, Pendulous threads, and the self titled track...I've been an Incubus fan for about 10 years now and they've rarely disappointed me. I just hope the next album switches it up, like they've always done. I won't rush to judgement based off of one song preformed live several months before the album is released. After all, I remember them debuting "Megalomaniac" and "Pistola" at Lollapalooza. Didn't like those tracks at the time. Love them now.
