@3480 grande ritratto di una società in cui perfino i coministi più agguerriti avevano rispetto per il crocifisso...oggi quello che spaventa di più è la mancanza assoluta di valori che pervade la ns società.
wow i cant believe im seeing these with english subtitles i thought nobody would knew about dear don camillo except italians lol.i Love don camillo i watched all the movie series when i was little with my mom ,we used to laugh so much but there's so many other truths and feelings such good old movies!!!grande vita al mitico don camillo questi film avranno sempre un posto speciale nel mio cuore..
I would hope that this series would some day be marketed in the USA in a popularly-priced 'DVD' format with English subtitles, colorization & 'background' info (e.g. biographies of the principal actors, the locations, 'lost' episodes & faux pas scenes).
Absolutely charming as a 'period' piece for 1950s Cold War Italy. From a US viewpoint, the series is notably absent for any hints of internationalism, Zionism, Black (Negro) Power, feminism, ecumenism, organized crime (Mafia) or drug abuse!
He is anticommunist and was arrested and convict for his struggle. When he dies ( Guareschi come back from the concentrament camp barely alive and never fully recoverd, the jail time caused him have several strokes ) all the fucking communist press covered him with crap.
The communists portraited in his novels are still christians and good people, only deceived by the evil ideology
@piontro He was anti-communist, he did a lot of anti-communist propaganda for the 1948 elections. But I don't think he would have supported DC at all if he had known what we know now - that it was a gang of thieves that ran the country based on mafia and corruption.
Actually, Guareschi was against all oppressive regimes and stopped supporting DC in 1953.
But whatever your political ideas are - you can always enjoy his books! I'm a socialist/communist myself but love reading his books anyway.
this film isnt' anti-comunist; it explain, with a typical italian mode, the situation after the WW2: the dualism of the comunist party and the democrathic catholic party
I fedeli, come al solito, se la squagliano, mettendosi in salvo; Don Camillo va da solo, protetto unicamente dal suo coraggio e dalla sua fede, e gli oppositori, presi da un sentimento di rispetto, gli lasciano il passo.
Compare this kind of presentation on YouTube with everything else viewed here and see what the populace prefers. No wonder our Blessed Lord still suffers in his faithful followers. Thank you for posting it. God Bless!
Faith and Hope pivorted by Love, are the answers in this world. Lessons that we need to learn in order to be victorious, this side of the great eternity divide. It is never too late. May God have mercy and grant us Peace in this world of ours.
Thanks! I never heard of this. It might have been because it was in Spanish. I think we still have some Don Camillos around in this world. Not all need be traditionalist (besides, one or two pre V2 priests had supernatural help with doubts about the Holy Eucharist being Jesus, for ex.). I know of one N.O. priest who was shaky once, but later, wouldn't give Holy Communion to one whose family he knew because the other "married" a civically divorced woman and he knew the guy.
someone help me find this movie online !! please

Essa parte é uma das mais comoventes do livro e do filme.

A pity so few Americans have been exposed to Guarschi's work. The tales of Don Camillo are wonderful, as is this film.

Sorry, but it is Italian. These kind of movies are not forbidden, but very hard to get. Now, youtube could change that. Pax et Bonum.
