Thanks for the words of advice. No piano...at least not yet, but I did pick up an old second hand acoustic guitar. I'll start there and work my way up to the piano...keep doing what you're doing.
@theflyingferret77 Hi, it works with guitar too..(how do I know?) because I taught myself to play that too :-) Started off with 12 bar blues and went from there. So my friend, theres light at the end of the tunnell ! Just to have to desire to play or create music is (IMO) a unique gift in itself.
@HarrysCupboard its like playing an eflat as opposed to an enatural. usually its printed at the beginning of a each music line flats r the ones that look like b's. Thanks for the quick reply.
@Seracinfinity Hi, I originally listened to this live, and it was in G major (probably to enable Meat to sing it a little easier). He does change key from the original score from Steinman quite often, but all said, Bb IS the key that it should be played in. Well spotted my freind :-)
Wonderful work Harry! I have a silly ambition about being able to do what you are doing here; on piano, Steinmen's For Crying Out Loud. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've actually ever bothered to push a key on a piano! You say you can't read music, so how on earth did you get to this level?!!! Perhaps there's hope for me yet.
@theflyingferret77 Sorry it took so long to reply to you! Ok, as you probably know, I cant read a damn note of music. SO, I learned some easy songs (and made some up) in the key of "C". This is probably the easiest key to start to learn with if you havnt a clue, like I did. From there, I learned other songs by listening to them and trying to mimic them back, which after a while started to get easier as I went along. I realised that chord formations work WHATEVER key youre in.Advice=Experiment!!
@Dubsndice Thanks so much...it's a great song from Jim Steinman, I love it, although I may not play it quite right, I enjoy hammering it out at least 5 times a week on my piano!
Thanks for all your comments, you inspire me to keep playing.
If you can get this into sheet music I'll pay good money for it!!!!! I know you say you can't read music but would love this piece. What country are you in?
@MattyBoy7777 Thank you so much, it makes it worthwhile when I get any positive feedback from you guys... Im in the middle of writing an album at the moment so sorry for not posting more songs, please bare with me, I'll get there in the end, (hopefully!).
Damn, that was beautiful! One of my all time favorites and you nailed it. I actually had tears in my eyes, you play so awesome. Thank you for the oppurtunity to hear this.
A beautiful, heartfelt and captivating rendition of a modern rock classic. Meatloaf and Steinman's music holds so many warm memories for me and it's always a sentimental nostalgia trip when I hear their music. I thoroughly enjoyed this piece and will save it as a favourite.
First time I heard this video, i don't think it was any special. But I must admitted after listen to this moore careful and in peace, this is really good. Very beautiful. You are really good on piano, thanks for posting.
wow, what a captivating performance .just beautiful..i could listen to to it every night and go to sleep with peaceful dreams in store thank yo so much..more more-marcia
I'm a big fan of Jim and Meatloaf, you do this really good, I think this is Steinmans best song. This one have all that a good song should. Epic rock opera.
Awsome work, I'm trying to get that smoothness into my playing but I find it really difficult! take a look at my video if you get some spare time plz!
