  • I liked very much this plane. Seems very easy to flight. Thks.

  • why are the wings bent up like that? :-I

  • @concorde232 the wing tilt is called dihedral, it helps balance the plane.

The tips while slanted are less efficient. If the airplane starts a roll to the right, the right wing tip becomes more efficient and pushes the aircraft back to the left.

  • I'll bet some fool on the highway thought it was a UFO.

  • I feel cheated and wish to make someone else responsible. Do you have any videos of it flying in the dark dark?

    Seriously cool plane, though.

  • Cool

  • From seeing these couple of LED Lights videos, I feel that we oughtta limit the amount of light we put on the plane, cause after it is some distance away, lights start to mix up with each other. If not limit, there should be good physical separation between colors.

  • what i really ,like to see is a true to form lights on a jetliner complete w/ headlights, blinking lights blue and red etc

  • I'd like to fly this thing over Alex Jones, just to mess with his head. xD

  • What speeds can that reach?

  • It is a very good flight (^o^)

  • Would like to see you take it up to altitude max during pitch black conditions, zooming in and out. Too many UFO videos out there on YouTube that are clearly LED funcraft.

  • wonder how many ufo sightings hes caused with that plane

  • Thats is just too cool. "I got to get me one these"

  • cool! where do you fly at?

  • @capcom4eva SCCMAS.org

  • Wow that thing is AWESOME

  • I wonder how many accidents were caused on HWY 101 as a result of this flight? LOL Nice and bright!

  • Very nice looks easy to fly too

  • its like somthing out of the movie "the abyss" .

  • Are these light strips?

  • UFO

  • Did anybody see that UFO at 1:00??

  • @SuperWhiteboy09 probably either, venus, jupiter, or the moon.

  • great idea

  • Just for grins...Could you please do a Straight Nose Dive from around 200 feet into the ground?

I would Love to see what THAT would look like. (hee-hee not ha-ha)

  • @rhoejaqueswift I second that.

  • @rhoejaqueswift Loser, do that with your own plane, don't ask for other people to do that with their custom built creations. I hate it when kids ask me to do that.

  • very nice

  • w l'italia....

  • Awesome air plane with LED!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

  • People on the highway would be scratching their head trying to figure out what the heck it is Awesom Plane BTW

  • a red and green light on the wing tips would have been enough too :-)

  • This is great!! Gives me a good idea what I can do to the old planes I just got as a gift!!! Looks like i have to buy some LEDs soon! ;-)

  • ... i cant see your plane lol XD

  • Now thats classy

  • Very cool plane!!

  • what battery are you using ?

  • @WatchmenDrManhattan

The lights are powered by three Thunder-Power 2100 Mah 3 cell Lithium polymer batteries.

  • That's a bunch of LEDs you've got there! :P Why is the right wing green and the left wing red? Can you see better if the plane is upside down with different colored LEDs on wings?

  • @Naud1234

Real airplanes have a single red navigation light on the left wing & a green light on the right.

I just took it to the extreme & made the whole wing light up. I get easily confused when I fly at night, so if I see a red wing on the left & green on the right I know the airplane is traveling away from me. If the green is on the left then the airplane is approaching me.

  • @Naud1234

"Why is the right wing green and the left wing red?"

To please the political commentators, of course.

  • what lights where you using

  • @MrCommonlane LED Light

  • The Phoenix returns.

  • That thing is SWEEEEET! :-D

  • that is beautiful!how cool!

  • i flew in this summer at 11:20 pm it was totally dark an i had onl 12 single led s on it and i am not crashed it looks better when its totally dark in the video it is looking only a bit cloudy

  • That's a bit extreme

  • What an awesome plane.

  • wow I am speechless

  • SWWWWEEEEETTTT!!!!!!

  • The Italian Flag!! ;-)

  • Wow the plane took off backwards!!

  • Is that a Disco Plane? I mean Anyone can see the plane where ever it goes XD. So you can never , i mean never loose the plane whether in height or distance , you can only lose if your blind.

  • ....I think I see some extra space for some lights on that thing!!! lol

  • Those people on the highway are calling in UFO sightings.

  • People might think it's a Mexican UFO angel flying around.

  • UFO UFO UFO!

  • really really nice!

  • TE FELICITO (CONGRATULATIONS) PRECIOSO AVION

  • is this by cyote creek

  • @liondoncefreak123 Yes it is.

  • So how many times has your plane been in the paper or on the news as a UFO? lol

Nice video and nice job on the plane... Keep it up

  • I'm wondering what the all-up weight is with all the batteries and lights? Is it clear Monocoat?

  • Q: What was the in-flight meal?

    A: A light snack.

  • @DigiTan000 You have a bright future in comedy!

  • @wcolbyHD lol

  • @wcolbyHD i cant think of anything, im not very bright

  • @DigiTan000 AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA!

  • lol christmas tree

  • it amazing looking, i love it

  • Great video, congratulations!

  • I wish I was driving down 101 right then, must be a neat sight to see.

  • is that on some kind of dis-used airfield?

  • @worldwideflyby This was shot at the SCCMAS, the Santa Clara County Model Aircraft Sky-park, it is a county park near San Jose California, with a 516 foot long runway just for model airplanes.

  • @wcolbyHD Hehe... it's my favorite field in RealFlight G5.5 - it really does look like this. Nice club you got there... but not as nice as Arvada Associated Modeler's in Colorado :)

  • Does that use up the battery quicker?

  • @TheIndoorFllyer1 The Lights are powered by different batteries than the motor.

so the lights don't affect the flight duration on the airplane.

  • @wcolbyHD Awesome.

  • @wcolbyHD of course they do^^ because of the weight :P

  • @wcolbyHD: I shurely wouldn't have tought of separate batteries if it wasen't mentioned here ^.^

That was cool, next step is animated light :D

  • Wow, that is one awesome plane. Very nice, lovely flight. Despite all the extras, it's perfectly balanced. Great job! Lol @ the UFO reports hahaha :P

  • Plane and a wonderful and beautiful idea

  • that's the Portuguese flag right there :D

  • wow! i'm overwhelmed by the cooolnesss of this plane. love the vegas style lights

  • Shouldn't the red lights be on the right?

  • Que lindo

  • i bet the people on the highway was like did you c that ufo

  • Very cool! I used build radio controled planes when I was a kid but technology is "super improved" Wow!!!

  • It's the field of realflight g4.5 flight simulator!

  • Way cool dude. I got to build one of the flying night lights

  • ... thats sexy

  • That is one fantastic looking model plane! Well done! :)

  • cool.....

  • Awesome plane, Did you used led stripes ?

  • where do you buy that plane

  • @robotalex12 You buy the wood at your local hobby shop. You do some research, you can find plans from sources on the internet. Lights from eBay, you take the wood, glue it together over the plans, ask a bunch of questions on the rcgroups forum.

if its your first plane plan on about a month to build, while practicing on a flight simulator, go to your local RC club & have an instructor help with your first flight & you're golden. This is not a short attention span endeavor.

  • @wcolbyHD oh I think yyou buy that plane is really nice and with the lights make it unique I know how to fly and I have 1 plane like that big and easy to fly I also have the Electristar and a glider with a motor, I am trying to put light on my Electristar and when I saw your video I like the plane how fast it goes up and land so thanks also where do you buy those lights

  • @robotalex12 sorry dude, i did not mean to vote you down. i hit the button on accident on my windows phone (my big thumbs on a small screen)

  • we could trick people into thinking thats a UFO!! nice! xD

  • FELICIDADES - EXCELENT -

  • cool plane

  • it looks so beautiful.

  • are you flying a weather balloon or something in san jose? i've seen a glowing orb go from stationary to moving in the sky looking west from san jose, it was pulsing red and blue. can you identify this? if you search youtube for ufo in san jose there are multiple videos uploaded over the past year or so, apparently it was seen in south san jose in 2009, i just saw it last night in west san jose.

  • UFO

  • thats awsome i grew up in fairfield, Ca. just out side travis afb dad was a b52 mech back when it was a sac base. i got introuble flying rc to close to the base when i was in highschool!

  • where were you flying at? I used to live near an air force base, and how meny UFO reports did the local law inforcement receive that night? I ask because you can see cars driving by on what looks to be a highway in the background.

  • @psyk0diver This flight was made in San Jose, California the highway in the background is US 101. This aircraft has been flown at many locations, in Reno Nevada the police showed up.

  • UFO

  • That would be an awesome advertising tool. Plus it looks like it would fit right in flying in downtown Vegas at night.

  • SUPER model and video

  • that things got A LOT OF LIGHTS

  • this is one cool night flyer bird!

  • Ha! That is one the coolest things I have ever seen! I bet those people on the highway think its martians haha!

  • REALLY COOL.

  • very cool. You said it's a record breaker with an 8 foot wingspan. What record was it, that it broke? Just curious

  • The name of the aircraft is "the Record Breaker"

It was named that by the designer & builder Chet Lanzo back in 1936, it broke the record for weight lift & duration in 1936. I built a copy of the plane & put 1800 LEDs on it. Walt

  • just curious but could there be way to hook up a high gear generator (for lack of another word lol?) to the propellor to slow charge the lights batteries? eg iv got a torch that you wind up to charge the 3 volt battery pack theres hardly any resistance and i was wondering, if the internal was mounted to the fuselage somehow then linked to the batteries and prop would this serve as a viable in flight charger? sory if this is a silly suggestion.

  • There is a product, its a dynamo spun up by a gas motor that can run electronics on an aircraft, think its called aurora, but this airplane is powered by an electric motor so its not efficient to put another load on that motor, thats why the lights are powered by their own batteries. Walt

  • That is Awesome mate 10/10, if he would have flown it in pitch black he would have to have a top notch camera to put here for us to watch, it doesnt state that it is being flown here at night the title says night flyer anyway awesome job mate.

  • omg that is soo cool i want one!! should try flying over the highway to scared people :]

  • beutiful plane. ;)

  • Nice done, but at these light conditions i'am going to fly without any lights... So it's not night flying!

  • that's great mate

  • ar the lights powerd by the engine

  • Nope, The propeller is turned by an electric motor & the lights have their own batteries for power.

  • Really beautiful. Very imaginative solution. Must be really fun to fly. The other comments are by people who are jealous and/or jerks. Great job !

  • yeah you could totally spy on enemy, they would never notice ))))

    Nice plane

  • woah, pretty.

  • That must suck battery power

  • Nope, its flight time is about 45 minutes. big motor = big efficiency.

  • wow this is so kewl...love this!

  • Goodlord, it looks like a streetlight is passing by when it flies over. Fantastic build, only you should show this at pitch dark, not at dawn. ;)

  • thats cool fly it over the highway ufo

  • nice :) haha people on the road would look at that and say WTF? lmao :P

  • proposed renaming it to "evening or overcast day flyer built by a guy who is way too touchy about comments regarding his Christmas tree plane."

  • Christmas tree!! Did you say CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!!

  • bellissimo

  • this is not at night!

  • Did I say it was?

  • Buddy, it is an Night Flying airplane!

  • If you have a boat & its not in the water does that mean that its not a boat?

  • i ddnt say its not a night flying plane, i just said ur not using it at night so that was the wrong analogy to use.

  • bahaha someone prob thought it was a UFO or somethin

  • What a bright idea, can't loose that in a tree!

    Dan

  • Awesome! Have you ever taken it out at night?

  • you rock men !

  • Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful and nice video!!

  • Strip LED's

  • those vintage free flight turned rc are just so calm and enjoyable. i have seen a few lansos of different sizes and that is so cool to quote the young folk .But i'm sorry the footage is just falling short of doing the visual justice thanks for the post

  • nice how much is the cost for one of this

  • About $1500 US

  • thak you very much

  • OMG this is amazing!!!!

  • AIRPLANES ARE SO AWSOME

  • IT´S HAPPENING!

  • that is awesome, thanks for uploading

  • cool people will think it's a ufo.

  • That's mind-blowingly cool!!!!! Very nice job!

  • That plane is awesome. Must be nice to go night flying.

  • Be more impressive if it were dark.......

  • wow that has made my life that much more complete, i am ready for death now, nothing will suprise me more in life, thankyou good sir.

  • that looks great at 3:00 wiv the light on the ground!

  • Simply amazing !

  • lol-this is Santa Clara Model Aircraft Skypark on Realflight G4.5!

  • ok THAT's the guy i was talking to on sunday the 12th...

  • R u guys in Area 51?

  • were do i get lights like that

  • they're just LED's

  • FOFL ITS A UFO

  • thats awsome you should make more and sell them.

  • I have to tell you, that was fantastic! Great job on the HD video and concept.. as one can see from my channel.. I would be one to know how much effort went into this build.

Thanks for sharing with us!! Too Cool!

  • Looks like 'Close encounters of the RC kind" NICE!

  • Love it :-)

  • i wanna know how much it would cost to build one of these...

  • Ballpark $1500.00 US

  • lol that's great! you can see the reflection of the lights off the runway or road as it flies by. awesome

  • Spectacular machine & skill in flying!

  • high wings do not need skill to balance.they balance on their own(not that the guy was unskilled,of course he was a great flyer!)

  • some peoples think it's a ufo

  • I wonder if anyone on the road in the background (highway?) called the cops thinking there was a real UFO flying around? Great looking plane, nice flying skill, and congrats on getting on the local news! That is some incredible flight time from the LiPo batteries! Great work! I look forward to your next interesting flight project!

  • this is amazing. love when the plane fly low. great. we used to just put leds at the tip for night flying. nice build. 5*

  • Great stuff! That looks like a flying field near my house? Was this near Morgan Hill in Califorina?
