  • never 118hp

  • @Corsau14NZ - i agree, Citroen has been stingy with the power specs. I've seen stock Saxo VTS put out 135 HP+ on a dyno.

  • I know perfectly this "big little car" and seeing this chrono, I can say perfectly also that your car is not only tuned on airbox and exhaust, the engine or/and the weight is very tuned also

You dont say to us all the things about your VTS...

  • @cumbas - i'm telling you everything i know. Complete exhaust and cold air intake air system. But yes, the weight was tuned a bit, i didn't have my subwoofer in the car in this video.

  • My saxo vtr has 198.000... still driving like new :)

  • @mrdia1995

Fuck you and you fucking BMW , take youre wannabe "bmw" to the track and i'll take my 106 rallye .

lets see who's gonna be the winner ;)

  • Saxo Rulz!

  • mrdia1995, welcome to my blocked user list! I'm so tired of your thin argumentation.

  • Id rather say performance

  • of course every car which hasnt bmw badge on grill have engine problems and hp loss. theres no sense in arguing with you your writing one thing around and clearly know shit.

  • No way 7 sec 0-100 with 1.6 130-140 hp...

  • I don't think so either. But i've seen alot of ppl doing 7,5-7,6 on a G-tech meter. I'm optimistic mine could do that too.

  • Personally i love BMW.All this cars category like saxo is almost 900kg and 140 hp at 1.6 litres!

That means very powerfull 0-150,NO handling,No healthy ENGINE for more than 5 years(bmw keeps engines still good over 10 years) and alltime problems with engine or transmission etc!So maybe it does 0-100 at 7.5 sec but thats all it can do,THATS MY OPINION,no offence!

Btw how many hp has it exactly? (vts 1.6)

  • None taken, but handlingwise the Saxo actually does very good. Hence the Saxo Cup races etc.

I didn't drive my car like that very often, if i did, i'm sure youre right about the engine health.

I like BMW too, i like lot of cars actually ;o)

  • I think you should drive more cars, and stop surfing the net, with only one goal to "diss" saxo and 106 owners. I've seen your profile, and thats mainly what you do. I have my doubts that you have alot of driving experience with your age.

My Saxo didn't move at all, and i live along the danish westcoast here it's very windy all the time.

And btw, a friend of my has a 1998 106 GTI (same engine) with over 250.000 km driven and it still produces 138 HP on the rolling road.

    EOD...

  • Well I am not gonna fight with you....

Just think about this:If all these cars like peugeots, citroens,Hondas etc were better than a bmw or a mercedes or an audi, they would be the third or the fourth best companies in the world,as like mercedes or bmw...

And yes, thats what i do on the net,Maybe i dont have expierence by a lot of cars like you,but i have mind and i can understand that a good car doesnt mean a good 0-100 and 150 hp at 1.6 litre!

  • oh man im not a fan of any of this cars but dont be so biased. what does good car have to have to be a ultimate car in your mind? 3 tons with leather saloon and badge with bmw logo? well wanna see it compared to for insatnce to this car on track. Its huge difference in reading about a car and driving it in real life. (btw a lot of hondas keeps engines for over 600k kms including mine so..)

  • The only i can say on this is : ur honda has 50 hp right now instead of 100 it had,and secondly,ur door is gone and every electronic is DAMAGED...

And btw i didnt say that a car needs to be 3 TONS,i said that the cars mast be good at handlings and STEADY on the road, and having horsepower in proportion of C.C (i.g 1.6L=100-130 hp)

  • did you find on internet my honda has now 50hp? cmon it had 160 and it has 160. and electronic is the only thing that will survive like forever in car btw. 1,6l shouldnt have more than 130hp?

  • @mrdia1995 i have to disagree My mom had 106 gti for 9 years. 1 owner, Normal dealer stamps and work carryed out (oil, spark plugs cambelt) never failed a mot with over 148k

  • @mrdia1995 my moms 16V saxo as 156,000 miles and over 10 years old.

Shes only ever had 2 cambelts (dealer) 1 headgasket , exhuast and few bushes.

  • @mrdia1995 my 1.6i engine from psa is more than 400k km and work perfectly... and its a 1999 version =)

  • @mrdia1995 bmw is the worse choice when it comes to money and efficiency..You will buy a 316 E92 bmw

for 40.000 thousand euros in 1.6l you have an engine that produces 122hp...You can buy a saxo for about 7.000 euros max with 50.000 kilometers. When it comes to handling saxo is one of the best cars at its category so think now what is more profitable ? To spend a fortune getting an 1.6l engine with 122 hp it's just nonsense man....

  • @mrdia1995 plus bmw has no handling if you dont how to drive a rwd car....And it's just not as reliable as you think...

  • @mrdia1995 A statement like that means you know shit about cars.

  • for people asking.

    1.6VTR 8V = 98Bhp

    1.6VTS 16v = 120Bhp

  • thats wot i mean good time for this car its set a benchmark uno

  • about horsepower how many hp allways mom i asking cause i want to buy this car on 1400 vts

  • This is a real VTS = 1,6 16V = 118 hp.

    A 1,4 8V is a look alike with 75 hp.

  • cant see one beatin that time near stock

  • This is near stock.

Many of these engines make 135 to 140 hp stock.

  • I totally agree with you mate, cheers^^

  • 7.and ahalf ent bad i spose i would never have one tho

  • Not bad at all, i'd have one anyday again, though.

  • lol ok cool cool

    cheers

  • but the mid range of the bmw 745i will leave this...

    4 extra cylinders

  • so?

1 more beck to this saxo with one nitrus oxide program and ur bmw will eat dust cheers:)

  • Lol this saxo (130hp) can be compared with bmw 745i (333hp). Bmw have 6,7 seconds to 100km/h

  • what exhaust have u got on the saxo??

  • Raceland manifold and the rest was Peco with duplex pipes. The build quality on the peco was shitty though!

  • nice, about 7 seconds! :)

  • 135hp de serie?

  • 118 HP is stock.

Mine had a manifold and complete sport exhaust and a air filter replacement, and the 16V engine in this car often has more power from stock. So i guess about 130 to 135 HP.

  • thnks

  • claro, eso no pesa una mierda. Añadele 300 kilos a ver que hace. o subete con 4 personas si es que caben y ya me diras como le cuesta...

  • Thanks google translate...

Why would i add more weight, that would be stupid? Or did i get lost in translation?

  • he is jealous because your car is very light, he is like saying.. yeah ok if you add 300kg then your car would suck.

  • You should have did it with less petrol in the tank! very quick though.

  • he said u got to 0 to 60 in 2 secs lol

  • 118 ps?

  • Stock yes, but they often have way more.

I'd guess mine had 130-135 hp.

  • little rocket luv em

  • sa tire po

  • I have no idea what you are saying :o)

  • como puede acelerar de 0 a 60 en menos de 2 seg :O

  • No only exhaust and airfilter upgrade.

  • With chiptuning?
