Chipmunks: Christmas Don't Be Late - How to play

Can anyone help me with the fingering for Ab6? I can't help to leave the b string ringing and it sounds awful, it's very hard for me to mute it so I would appreciate some help with fingering

@mrvlhs: muting is what you need to do....only need to strum the bottom few strings to create chord ;)

@vanagon555 Don't you mean the upper? I'm now barring the chord and it seems easier for me not to touch the B string, or if I do it doesn't sound as bad :D

sorry but I just don't have the time to do that. You can do it...just take your time. Chords are there. It will benefit your ear too.

Ab6 here is Ab/C/F/C (from low to hi). Bring F up to F# for 7th

I think if you swap the B flat 7 for F 7 it works better.

F7 sounds cool, but Bb7 is the right chord(certainly suggested by the bass note).

I have to admit that it is a little difficult to listen to this and not hear the chipmunks singing it...HAHA. What kind of guitar are you playing? You don't often see an acoustic guitar with a maple fingerboard. Anyways, Christmas is not complete without the Chipmunks Christmas song! Way to go! :) LC

sure...if you're playing it on guitar you should be able to pick it out. Could not find it anywhere on the net so i bought the transcribe. I picked most if it out by ear but that 2nd chord I'm playing was stumping me (Ab6th). I'm playing in the key of Ab...I'm short on time now but will get back to you in more detail... Lee
