i know the organ is probably par, but i think the sound of the piano is quite tender. the jarring video footage goes incredibly with the beautiful sound of this choir!
@sperryism.... well your comment is subjective, the execution is also important, having a great sound of an organ but with terrible execution is far worse. If only the organizers of this competition provided an organ, but they only have a piano. Would they back-out from the competition for that reason? no!.... but the show must go on and they did it well. (=
A disappointment. This most beautiful ethereal piece should be sung with an organ or not at all. The use of a bangy, percussive piano that produces horrible echos is inexplicable and antagonistic to the piece. It totally negates its original beauty.
@sperryism You're a fuckin disappointment. It appears they made due with what they had, and what they have is sheer passion. Besides, when's the last time you yourself heard Faure play this piece to compare its original beauty? Get over yourself, dick.
@sperryism I think the boys sang beautifully, and as jonnyjaccoustic has pointed out, must have made due with what they had. I don't want to give you nightmares, but not only do I sometimes sing this without an organ - I sometimes sing it without any accompaniment at all - and just the alto line! Stop being so disappointed. You'll live longer.
@sperryism the rendition of the boys is incomparable. And the pianist knows the effect of the piano sound on the voices of the singing group. That's the reason why the accompaniment is so tempered in such a way that it assists in making the group's voices bloom into a cohesive harmony!
Wow!! Great rendition of the piece!!! Your choir really matured through the years!! Good control in both dynamics and diction!!! Congratulations Sir Mark! Your choir is certainly one of the best children's choir in the country! Knowing that they are still young and yet they sang this song with good interpretation!!! It's as if I'm listening to an adult choir..Fantastic!! CONGRATS AGAIN!!
Bon pianiste. Formidable!!!
