Wouldn't it be easier to toss a few million sheets of plastic over the melting permafrost and collect it that way? Methane is bubbling up all over up north. Why does our species contain such pathetic stupidity?
Wild Horses are being taking off their lands in the guise of lack of water. Yet, their are plans to increase oil fracking which is water intensive without replacing the water lost. Doesn't take a genius to know something is very wrong with that. We all need water to survive more than anything else. Yeah, the horses were doing just fine in any environment until man screwed it up.
@baidrad1 you know nothing about me. Everything I said was true. You can't say the same. The one mistake I made was in the name. It is Harold Hamm and not Herbert Hamm who plans to expand.
If you are against oil fracking, you should be against the keystone pipline because they are going to make it possible to increase oil fracking once they have cheap way to transport. Wyoming wildhorses will be toast. Rock Springs Grazing Association already filed a suit to get the horses off our land. It isn't only tar sands from Canada we need to worry about. Herbert Hamm wants to expand, expand, expand. Stop the keystone pipeline, folks!
@manoroaks .......uhhhh....BS. You're an off-the-rack, easily manipulated urbanite re: the horses. I've worked all over the west, and the "wildhorses" do just fine in all environments.

I love how spoiled we as americans have be come these day. We as americans cry and bitch about gas prices and heating bills for our homes. At the same time we cry and bitch about any where we drill or try to drill for our own energy needs. It has gotten so bad people and their groups cry about putting in solar or wind farms, but at the same time they want cheap power!!! You can not have you cake and eat it too. One dat when you heating bill is 1000 a month plus you will beg to drill here!!!
If you wanna see a real oilfield look up West Texas Oilfields. The Permian Basin. Every 400 yards there are wells. They go on for miles and miles and you don't hear and Texans bitching about destruction... Get out of your fuel guzzling airplane and go ride on horseback..
the jews ruined the USA's relations with the arab and muslim world where the oil and gas is cheap and easy to get to and where extracting it doesn't contaminate their water. we need the middle east oil. we don't need israel, fracking or homegrown oil and gas.
A true patriot wouldn't allow ANYone to destroy his/her nation's land & water... for ANY amount of money.

@esigus Well put! A North Royalton councilman has been using the ploy that residential drilling is Patriotic. He implies that residential drilling will protect our service men and woman overseas. Residents have already criticized him for his inaccurate comments. Now Governor Kasich wants to drill in the Metro parks ... this despite overwhelming public objections. And despite a newspaper poll that showed that an overwhelming are against drilling in state parks.

@permiangroup Half the people on this page are collecting unemployment; in other words, they're being PAID to NOT go to where WORK is--namely the oilfields--excellent paying jobs which are improving the economy in general. The drillers and oil service companies are crying for help.

@dreamwvr57 What the hell are you talking about? Is that really all you got? You think all we are is a bunch on criminals? Get a life! You have no clue about oilfield people! We work our ass off to provide the county with FUEL that it needs to run! And for our family! WTF! You need to crawl out of you tree house and take a good look at the world around you...it takes FUEL to bring you and your boyfriend the things that you need in life! The oilfield and trucks are the backbone of our county!
@oilfieldman78 Develop the gas, create the much need jobs, even if they are temporary. But do it in a responsible manner, I've been in your boots. I was told the same line of shit to tell the locals 30 years ago. The lies being told is bad PR upon your current practice of fracking/reacting coalbeds as a from of gasification. The industry is not just fracturing the coal seams to release the gas, toxic chemical/catalytic metals also. Safe Water is more important than a few years of producer gas.
@dreamwvr57 As goes for old worn out sterio types....why don't you move out of your mama's basement and get a real job. You know whats wrong with you people? You have realized you suck at life and are afraid to work at a real job, so you jumped on the bullshit "green movement" wagon. Wasnt it just proven that the whole global warning propaganda was bull shit? Where is your Al Gore now? And who is the poster child? YOU! HAAHAHA!
@oilfieldman78 Fuck Al Gore and this global warming bullshit, along with their cap & trade scams. Honest capitalsim was the backbone of this country. Worked the iron for your master (halliburton) for many years on coal fired power plants. Not as some suck-ass or a damn punk texass son-in-law/relative. This NG is the same damn scam being played,,,,your the bitches of HB and you don't even realize it. Your a dime a dozen & expendable,,but you already know that don't you? drill on, its HB's world.
@oilfieldman78 This old worn out field-hand was building the energy industry 30+ years ago, just like you are now. We were told the same thing every monday morning safety meeting,,,,tell the locals we were going to be bringing cheaper electricity to heat/power thier homes & communities. Every megawatt produced on those plants were exported out of state. The only thing the locals/states got was a ghost town, foreclosures, lower land values & high cancer rates. Same lies being told about this NG.
@dreamwvr57 .....uhhhhh....you mean you had a refinery right THERE already? I'm guessing NO, so how could it NOT leave the area? In any case, it resulted in increased supply so of course it benefitted your community.
They complain about the gas drilling.. but i bet when that 30 below wyoming winter hits they sure so love cranking up them natural gas heaters in their homes... Plus I have been working the Wyoming gas feilds for 5 years now.. the deer.. antlope.. sage chickens and what not could give a crap less about us.. the walk across location like we are not even there...
@pope1856 Sierra Club are some of the world's foremost liars. They have had such financial success doing it--why would they ever change?
Would they change for the sake of integrity? Hell, no--look at the success they have lying to the gullible on this page.
Their first major Campaign of Lies was the Spotted Owl fiasco. Gullibles here still believe the BS. It was so successful, especially with Slick Willy at the helm, that they have followed the same formula of fear-peddling ever since.
What a shame, what a crime against Creation. This is where the deer and the antelope used to play. There is water, air and noise pollution; would you want to give birth to your young there? This place, the whole huge area, was pristine just a few years ago. Shame on people who think drilling is the only way. You have no care for the future, or even apparently for your own children's legacy.
@igypup .....try not to display your almost TOTAL urban-imprisoned mindset. If you ever DO get around much, which is doubtful, you will find that the Sierra Club is in the top echelon of LIARS in the world.
What you would find is that the Sierra Club lies about wildlife populations (they had great success with the Spotted Owl) and impacts upon them.
You will never get around enough to see the truth. Most Americans can't even name the counties that adjoin theirs.
ignorent tree hugging assholes!! i would like to take the fuel out of that plane when they were in the air because they don't like drilling. which is where THE FUEL COMES FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@dirtysalty the fuel from the plane is from oil fields. these are natural gas fields....
they maybe used a thousand gallons to film what needs to be seen but each of those lil squares uses billions of oil to get just a tiny bit of gas...no comparison
There should be no need to clean up after the drilling and usage is complete . Nature should not be destroyed in the first place. Just look at the order of creation, animals come first man comes LAST.
they guys are stupid.. i worked in wamsutter for 2years and i use to see all kinds of animals walk right up to the rigs.. they bitch about us drilling out there but yet they bitch about how gas prices are up while they burn all that fuel in a airplane.. fucking hypocrits i tell ya
@wyomingranger09 ....don't try to educate the ignorant, urban-imprisoned jerks that are manipulated by the SierraClub. They almost never get outa their urban environment (oh I forgot--they went to Yosemite one time, and the Grand Canyon that other time), and are easy prey for propaganda like this.
They simply won't ever know any experience such as yours and mine.
The sierra club is so full of shit. They should do a fly over 3 years later. Of course it looks bad when they build all the pads. In 3 years or so you can hardly even tell. The grass fills back in, and everything is fine. As far as the wild life statistics he is just making shit up there is no way there was ever good data in that part of the world. There are plenty of Mule dear. My truck almost made that argument about 5 times last week.
"The cheapest way to stop global climate change is not converting to
solar power or buying a hybrid car. It's putting on a condom.
That's the conclusion of a London School Of Economics study showing that money spent on contraception is about five times more efficient than money spent on clean energy technologies. It backs up a recent Oregon State University study tha
t concludes overpopulation and massive immigration is the single biggest threat to the environment."
stay home and eat granola. why dont you spend your money on something other than a plane ride based on your idealism. you are a stupid person that doesnt know what he is talking about. lets put animals over people and let people suffer instead of the animals. are you kiddind me? wow people like you have ruined jackson hole. oh ya and by the way you percantages are not fact based. raptors ae killing the sage grouse, not drilling. what about housing developments? you never hear about that.
So i have been working in the jonah field for about 4 years. and i have had to move off of the locatuon because of those stupid ass sage chickens. i hate those stupid ass things, whats funny is i come out to the jonah field on days off and shot thos stupid ass things...ha ha ..what do you guys think of that. lol
So you're flying in an airplane using AVGAS that is a product from the oil/natural gas/condensate production and complaining about the the industry? You're about as bad as Al Gore flying all over the world in a 747 complaining about us emitting to much so called "Greenhouse Gases." Go to Europe you tree huggers.
Yeah it was my job to see that the site was cleaned up and there is no trash after the rig is gone. If you think of the long term impact there is none, grass will be grown back. Working the rigs over the summer up there was a great opportunity in my life. Every rig you see has twenty five people on it making a good living. It also brings a lot of money into the state for public schools and college. I'm going to the University of Wyoming for free and they have great facilities. Drill baby Drill!
interesting that they don t show any leases where the well has been brought into production and the location has been reclaimed. Once these steps have been taken the environmental impact is minimal. Although ur american policies regarding the reclamation and environmental controls might not be as strict as the canadian ones
id have to agree, you cant see the rigs really from the ground, they are way outside the city. if the libs want to complain cry about jackson and how that area is becoming the next aspen.
pindale is a pretty place the the hikes in the bridger are fantastic. there are people there that clean up the wells after the drilling is complete. so stop whinning.
Hey bud, how much did the fuel cost for the plane that you used to fly over the oil field? Were do you think that fuel came from? Go ahead and shut down all the oil and gas exploration. Then we will see were the american economy sits. Too many city slicker liberals out in the country these days.
I think you have been mis-informed. The guys that live and work there are hunters and sportsman, and have not seen any negative impact on the wildlife there. Instead the Antelope and Mule deer are benefiting from the reclaimed oil pads. The residential development has caused the Antelope to go around and has pinched them down tighter because of the fences they put up to keep wildlife out. The pads are, again, removed and reclaimed. The houses are there forever.
Wow, I know these guys, and he has lived in Wyoming for over 20 years, he's not from the "left coast", whatever that is. Way to go folks! The environment is winning these days, with the bush admin out and more and more educated people getting involved. YEAH!
shut off there gas then they'll quit there bitching! when ther freezing there asses off! 60-70ft r u kiddin me thats from the air u stupid s.o.b!...keep on punches the holes!
You live in NM, not WY. That area provides the heat for your house so quit bitching! I hate to tell you but "prairie maggots" known as antelope will STILL hang around oil and gas wells, plus it gives us a budget surplus every year and provides jobs. And there's nothing around Pinedale anyway...and yes it's impressively GOOD! Guess what, when things are done in the Jonah field, the area takes everything back and reclaims it...what an interesting concept!
Considering the amount of energy they get out of there it isn't that bad. To get the equivalent amount of energy from wind or Solar would need a great deal more land.
The reason we are in the mess we are in is cause of retarded enviromentalists they control this country, thus we can cannot explore for our own energy and its sad really, that we the richest country in the world cant even get our own energy due to some extremists that control our congress.
In response to rll7548, maybe if you're really lucky you could get a job at one of the private prisons being built in our country and traded on the stock market! It is this very narrow type of self centered thinking that has gotten us into this mess in the first place! Believe it or not the other creatures that live on this planet have a purpose and when they are gone we will feel the effect.
When it comes to whether your sage grouse can move over a little bit, and your antelope might actually see human development versus whether millions of Americans will lose their homes because the cost of gasoline to get to work leaves insufficient money to make a house payment, I could not care less whether you have some snooty concerns about the number of wells that you have to get into an airplane to even see. Hooray for Halliburton!!! Drill HERE, Drill NOW, Pay LESS!!!
You see that guy in the video if he did not live in the area maybe he would think like you but if you speak to people I am sure world wide who live where they drill. I am sure will tell stories of environmental issues.
If we put our vast resources into alternative energy, eliminating plastic containers, stop spending Billions daily on war & use the funds to feed & insure our own imagine how independent The US could be. Why are we allowing greedy oil pigs to dictate our future. The saddest part is that it is our children and Grandchildren that are truly going to suffer the consequences of our actions. WAKE UP AMERICA! Turn off the TV and look around you!
Only a really stupid person would be unaware of that fact. The real point is that we need to move away from our need (greed) for oil. It is time for even the most dogmatic republican to acknowledge a need for huge change. When you have lost your job, can't afford to buy milk or gas,(which btw have kept pace with each other in price) find yourself facing foreclosure and homelessness maybe your tune will change. It is easy to over look the suffering until it knocks at your door.
tnichols321 has a point..it is ironic for them to propose something that helps their research..I see both points of view because they live in an area where they are being affected directly by this activity and due to this we shouldn't oppose instead we should provide ideas instead of hating the prosperity that can help the entire nation..yes the cycle of life is important (animals natural habitat. Either way you look at it..it will impact the economy of the nation.

All I can think watching this is, so what?
Same people in the plane would probably be against a couple of nuke plants in lieu of the wells.

Where did you get your numbers on declines in populations. I think they are flawed. You shouldn't use junk science and junk statistics.

You do realize that you are flying in a plane that uses petroleum based FUEL !!!

Most Americans can't even name the counties that adjoin theirs.

ignorent tree hugging assholes!! i would like to take the fuel out of that plane when they were in the air because they don't like drilling. which is where THE FUEL COMES FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
dirtysalty 2 years ago 2
@dirtysalty the fuel from the plane is from oil fields. these are natural gas fields....
they maybe used a thousand gallons to film what needs to be seen but each of those lil squares uses billions of oil to get just a tiny bit of gas...no comparison
caligirl4seven 1 year ago
There should be no need to clean up after the drilling and usage is complete . Nature should not be destroyed in the first place. Just look at the order of creation, animals come first man comes LAST.

they guys are stupid.. i worked in wamsutter for 2years and i use to see all kinds of animals walk right up to the rigs.. they bitch about us drilling out there but yet they bitch about how gas prices are up while they burn all that fuel in a airplane.. fucking hypocrits i tell ya
wyomingranger09 2 years ago 2
@wyomingranger09 ....don't try to educate the ignorant, urban-imprisoned jerks that are manipulated by the SierraClub. They almost never get outa their urban environment (oh I forgot--they went to Yosemite one time, and the Grand Canyon that other time), and are easy prey for propaganda like this.
They simply won't ever know any experience such as yours and mine.
baldrad1 4 months ago
The sierra club is so full of shit. They should do a fly over 3 years later. Of course it looks bad when they build all the pads. In 3 years or so you can hardly even tell. The grass fills back in, and everything is fine. As far as the wild life statistics he is just making shit up there is no way there was ever good data in that part of the world. There are plenty of Mule dear. My truck almost made that argument about 5 times last week.

So i have been working in the jonah field for about 4 years. and i have had to move off of the locatuon because of those stupid ass sage chickens. i hate those stupid ass things, whats funny is i come out to the jonah field on days off and shot thos stupid ass things...ha ha ..what do you guys think of that. lol
greenballs343 2 years ago 2
So you're flying in an airplane using AVGAS that is a product from the oil/natural gas/condensate production and complaining about the the industry? You're about as bad as Al Gore flying all over the world in a 747 complaining about us emitting to much so called "Greenhouse Gases." Go to Europe you tree huggers.
dieseldude1234 2 years ago 2
Yeah it was my job to see that the site was cleaned up and there is no trash after the rig is gone. If you think of the long term impact there is none, grass will be grown back. Working the rigs over the summer up there was a great opportunity in my life. Every rig you see has twenty five people on it making a good living. It also brings a lot of money into the state for public schools and college. I'm going to the University of Wyoming for free and they have great facilities. Drill baby Drill!
BombHillz420 2 years ago 2
interesting that they don t show any leases where the well has been brought into production and the location has been reclaimed.

Look how clean the oil pads are in the video. They have to be kept up and kept clean. The E.P.A would be all over them if they were not kept clean.
sismicquake 3 years ago
Hey bud, how much did the fuel cost for the plane that you used to fly over the oil field? Were do you think that fuel came from? Go ahead and shut down all the oil and gas exploration. Then we will see were the american economy sits. Too many city slicker liberals out in the country these days.
sismicquake 3 years ago 2

YEAH!

Somebody forgot to tell the deer around Pinedale their population is down LOL
My brother has lived there over 20 years and what these people are claiming in the video is BS.
slarsen00 3 years ago

Fellopian22 3 years ago
In response to rll7548, maybe if you're really lucky you could get a job at one of the private prisons being built in our country and traded on the stock market! It is this very narrow type of self centered thinking that has gotten us into this mess in the first place! Believe it or not the other creatures that live on this planet have a purpose and when they are gone we will feel the effect.
vjosi 3 years ago
When it comes to whether your sage grouse can move over a little bit, and your antelope might actually see human development versus whether millions of Americans will lose their homes because the cost of gasoline to get to work leaves insufficient money to make a house payment, I could not care less whether you have some snooty concerns about the number of wells that you have to get into an airplane to even see. Hooray for Halliburton!!! Drill HERE, Drill NOW, Pay LESS!!!
rll7548 3 years ago
You see that guy in the video if he did not live in the area maybe he would think like you but if you speak to people I am sure world wide who live where they drill. I am sure will tell stories of environmental issues.

If we put our vast resources into alternative energy, eliminating plastic containers, stop spending Billions daily on war & use the funds to feed & insure our own imagine how independent The US could be. Why are we allowing greedy oil pigs to dictate our future. The saddest part is that it is our children and Grandchildren that are truly going to suffer the consequences of our actions. WAKE UP AMERICA! Turn off the TV and look around you!
vjosi 3 years ago
well not most people will see that as you are required to be flying. Whats keeping your plane in the air? Fuel from oil.
tnichols321 3 years ago 2
Only a really stupid person would be unaware of that fact. The real point is that we need to move away from our need (greed) for oil. It is time for even the most dogmatic republican to acknowledge a need for huge change. When you have lost your job, can't afford to buy milk or gas,(which btw have kept pace with each other in price) find yourself facing foreclosure and homelessness maybe your tune will change. It is easy to over look the suffering until it knocks at your door.
vjosi 3 years ago
tnichols321 has a point..it is ironic for them to propose something that helps their research..I see both points of view because they live in an area where they are being affected directly by this activity and due to this we shouldn't oppose instead we should provide ideas instead of hating the prosperity that can help the entire nation..yes the cycle of life is important (animals natural habitat. Either way you look at it..it will impact the economy of the nation.
