  • in the jacket...

  • <33

  • GREATEST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER

  • @tommygunn162 is Michael Jordan!

  • Bird Is KinG

  • lol he missed so many at the first half, it looked like he was gonna lose

  • Kobe would've airballed.

  • wow I always thought he was a better shooter than that, jason kapono beat that twice.

  • always a rainbow, you'd think it would be harder to put so much air under his shots, but his touch was always deadly. a flick of the wrist from anywhere, a rainbow... and nothing but net.

  • dont mess with an angry bird

  • The 'finger point' after the shot is just another indication of why Larry Bird is a Legend.

  • Bird entered the locker room, looked around without saying a word, then finally said, "I want all of you to know I am winning this thing. I'm just looking around to see who's gonna finish up second." He won the shooting contest.

  • the line was shorter then

  • @troyiscute123 Wrong. The 3 point line was FARTHER BACK then. Study your basketball history, newbie.

  • @UselessCommenter 23 feet 22 feet 1 feet bicth so it dont matter ass hole bicth

  • Hey that looks like a short Dirk

  • @sharks9022 No, Dirk looks like a tall Bird.

  • he had the game sliders up lol

  • cuz the bird bird bird the bird is the word. the bird bird bird the bird is the word

  • old white man swagger

  • One of the best ever!

  • Sabonis was the best euro player in history IMO. Damn shame he had to wait so long to play in the NBA. damn communism

  • @klined really ??? better than champion and fresh crowned MVP Nowitzki? ok, defend that statement

  • Who remembers The player 'Sabonis' He's a white legend player. If you know about basketball, you will know who im talking about

  • @DarknezzDragonZ

    arvydas

  • @DarknezzDragonZ are you talkin' about the PF/C Arvydas Sabonis? that dude was crazy! i remember he had a three point shot that was underrated.

  • @thunderthumbs83 thats him

  • @DarknezzDragonZ yup he had a dgreat 3 stroke i think he played for the blazers

  • already put his finger up before the shot went in # confedence

  • First 3 NBA 3-Pt Shooting Comps were won by this man, nuff said, didn't even need to take is sweater off

  • bird just had "the stroke" from behind the arch...

  • Actually White people are better at shooting. But black people are better at creating space for shots, dunking and stuff like that , that's why more black people are good at basketball.

  • @answer199 Watch Tom Chambers and tell me about that stereotype you just spread. Research has been done....its cultural not natural.

  • @usnate1 I'm just sayin that white people a lil bit different type of muscles. I know there are white people that can jump really high, but u should agree that there's much more black guys that can get above the rim. And white people are usually better shooters i think just because they train their shot more, cause they can't be so athletic to make layups and dunks all the time. Anyway, you got my point...

  • @answer199 I have a Biology degree...your point is moot. Jason Williams vs. John Stockton...you have to ask the right questions? They are two different styles of play. They come from two different cultures. Its cultural....Inner cities have the worst schools but the best teams...why? Subconsciously they teach these kids that they aren't going to make it academically(its not true and sad) but they're can make through sports...2% of the basketball population make it to the NBA. That's it.

  • @answer199 CONTD: Not trying to insult you at all. I'm just saying its a myth. To prove it further...look at baseball...still predominantly American white and foreign hispanic. This is what the pro sports demographic is...MLB-Middle class American white and foreign hispanic mostly.(listen to how Barry Bonds, Griffey Jr. talk..they aren't from the hood) NFL-Mixed40% black, 40%white, 20% Other. And mixed income families- NBA-76% Inner city poor american kids. Do you see my point?

  • @usnate1 Yeah, i feel you.

  • there r no good white basketball players

  • @moneymakkerable apart from Larry and Dirk and Kidd ?

  • @moneymakkerable Dirk??

  • Larry bird = dirk nowitzki

  • @RECVXisabela15morla Larry bird>Dirk nowitzki

  • @RECVXisabela15morla Not even close man, I'm sorry...Comparing Bird to Dirk is like comparing Prime Rib to Bologna...no contest. Dirk is ALMOST as good at scoring, but everything else on the b-ball court larry rains supreme....larry outshines even MJ in some areas.

  • i remember when everyone used to shoot like that. Over the head and shoulder.I tried that before as a youngest and could never do it. My aim was horrible then. Now I try as an older man and I get why they shot that way. Your elbows align with the basket. All you gotta do is flick it in.

  • I JUST CAN'T STOP LAUGHING IF I REMEMBER THE SHORTS OF THE NBA PLAYERS BEFORE. :)) WAY TOO SHORT.

  • Ever notice jalf the whote guys are better shooters then thy are driving to the hoop but jj barrea is very good hes a boss f jason kidd

  • 0:24 Larry Bird at the buzzer with the 2-point ba-ball

  • Larry didnt even take off his warmups ! and walked off with his hand in the air before it even went in ! god i miss old school basketball.

  • Larry Bird Vs Ray Allen !Gud match!

  • @TheJairo428 I want to see Jason Kapono vs. Larry Bird.

  • @usnate1 Or Ray Allen Vs Reggie Miller Vs Larry Bird.

  • @TheJairo428

    Bird FTW

  • That quote was the year before, and he hit like the 1st 12 in a row.It is somewhere on youtube as well.

  • Obama should have walked off like this at the end of his speech announcing that we killed Bin Laden

  • more accurate than my free throws rofl

  • larry bird is amazing!!!!

  • Throws up the hand as soon as he releases the money ball. Classic!

  • is it just me or it looks like he was shooting from midrange?

  • Miller yea glen rice ray Allen there's a ton of great 3 pt shooters but why mention Jordan? Or thunder Dan majerle for that matter. Chris mullin?

  • bird is the best 3-point shooter ever then jordan then majerle then miller

  • bird is the word

  • @allstarsportsfan The N word?

because Hogan we comin for you nig lol

  • Just flawless

  • I noticed the 3 point contests now start on the opposite side of the perimeter.

  • RAY ALLEN IS THE BEST 3 POINT SHOOTER EVER AND REGGIE MILLER IS THE 2ND BEST. SORRY WHITE PPL. JUST PLAYING. I LOVE BIRD. IF I HAD TO PUT TOGETHER A NBA ALL STAR TEAM HE WOULD BE ON IT.

  • @u2cruiser7230 Plus bird is 1 of only 5 players in the history of league to have at least 20,000 points, 5,000 assists.....Larry did it in 11 full seasons (2 seasons injuries) Oscar 14 years, West 13 yrs, Bird 11 yrs, Havlicek 16 yrs, Jabbar 20 yrs. Thats VERY impressive. Larry Bird wasn't a shooter...he was good at everything on the floor.

  • I never ever seen anybody shoot the 3 the way Bird shoots it. He is a natural!!

  • So Boss...

  • Bird was never really a 3 point shooter, he even said it himself, but he was a bad motherfucker who did everything possible to help his team win, unlike LameBron who gave up on his. I say it now, LameBron will not win a championship, he ain't got the stones, Larry Bird will always be greater and he has the hardware to prove it.

  • look at that swag. jacket and all. He knows that last ball is money right after he lets it fly.

  • his form is slightly off to the right not perfect forrm and not the best shooter ion the nba history not being harsh but kobe bryant, ray allen and lebron james are more likely better than larry bird at 3's

  • @daXkrazyKILLA Sir,what the fuck? LeBron better then Bird when it comes to shooting threes? I agree Ray might be better then Bird though i wouldn't bet my money on it but LeBron?Get real!

  • @daXkrazyKILLA No, bro. I'll give you Ray Allen, but Kobe and Lebron don't shoot 3's like Bird. He was a much more accurate shooter than either of them.

  • Legend!!!! Lol

  • Fox 25 sent me here lol

  • ray allen got more than larry bird in the 3pt shootout

  • @TheCman226 Larry Bird has 2 more rings and 3 more MVPs.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme i wasnt tryin 2 say larry bird is better than ray allen cuz dats OBIVOUSLY not true!!! haha everyone knos bird is wayy better den allen

  • @TheCman226 I didn't think you were, but I had to make sure : )

  • With Jacket!! Do that LaBron.

  • Now That VINTAGE BIRD !!!!!!!!!!! those were the good ol days. Now every 1 is making Rap Songs and having a big show off on stage L James and his Heat Buddys with all the fake smoke. They like making Rap Song a little better than playing Basketball

  • lol where is Peja now ....he's good but he's not hall of fame great like bird, magic, jordon the ability to make others better

  • @dsmiff33: Lol! And Chuck Norris will probably outscore him head to head and with his eyes closed!

  • @billace90 fag

  • just me or this guy look like hes 60

  • @jumpmam1989 nba2k10 quote much?

Lol I love the finger action, would have look better if he missed though

  • wearing a jacket he killed. impressive

  • chuck norris will not play larry bird in a game of 1 on 1.......

  • before the contest started, he'd entered to the lockeroom and asked the rest of contestants "who's gonna be the 2nd"?

He didnt even take off his warmup jacket. Larry was amazing, amazing

  • THINK about it.. he wudv looked like an asshole if he missed the last shot with his finger in the air and walking away.. but he is larry fucking bird, he knew he hit it from the second he touched the ball. thanks a lot for posting this, go bird and go celtics!!

  • Maybe if he wasn't wearing the jacket he would have done better yet.

  • Yooooooo!

  • wow he is hot

  • so funny how commentator saws ball ball after Larry wins

  • Yea, Love the way he just walked away with his finger in the air, like "Yea I Got This."

  • better then Ruth's alleged homerun call

  • Larry Bird will always be my favorite Celtics player.

  • i love the ceremony after this moment and they ask him if he has anything to say and he says "tell the truth, this check had my name on it for a week"

  • Would be funny if the ball clanged off the rim while his he was stuck in his victory pose.

  • Who says there's no good white basketball players?

  • @MarshallATV What you talkin about, he black man!

  • @kemicza Larry Bird is as white as he can possibly get.

  • @MarshallATV No one is saying that. If you wish to assume that "white people" are an inherently persecuted race when it comes to certain theatrical sports (ie basketball), you might want to practice using actual evidence before you decide to accuse some unspecified amount of people for saying something along the lines of "no white people can play basketball". The evidence that supports that notion is rather small and marginal, and in most cases, illegitimate.

  • @superchef78 Wow why do you make such a big thing about it? Everyone knows there's not alot of white basketball players in the NBA. I said "Who says there's no good white basketball players?" See the question marker? I didn't say that there were none, it was in fact a question.

  • @MarshallATV I meant what I said. Your question was clearly a backhanded complaint (well not necessarily a 'complaint', but a mere mentioning which is enough to trigger a racist under-tone, in many cases) about what you perceive to be widespread mistreatment of a certain race based on modes of evaluation and considerations that you consider to be fundamentally invalid. Even if it isn't your intention, the overall effect is the same. When you make comments like that, you incite potential racism.

  • @superchef78 I don't even care man.

  • @MarshallATV OK then. The next time you wish to conclude (based on no verified evidence) that 'minority ethnic/racial groups' are subject to a majority of disapproval by the majority itself, you might want to consider all positions more carefully. It ultimately 'brings out the racists'. If you wish to continue this any further, please contact me personally.

  • @superchef78 Like I said, I don't care =)

  • @MarshallATV That is beside the issue, currently (nor will it deter me from expressing my opinion). Everything that needs to be said has been said. ;)

  • @superchef78 daang u got some vocabulary smart motherfucker :) love you

  • @Mr4Balla5 I try. Do you have anything you'd like to say in refutation to my claim(s)? Not to boast, but I think I have nearly ever (possible) point nailed down.

  • @superchef78 Naw, you raped him :)

  • @Mr4Balla5 Put grotesquely enough, yes. If you're going to accuse some unspecific group of people for having unfair/irrational opinions about the presence of supposed minorities within a community that is not exclusive and in fact, accept members of all races, you might want to salvage what little (to non-existent) evidence that might get others to accept your claims. Otherwise, shut up and realize that whites are not a 'persecuted minority race of dread and hate', but a mere speciation.

  • @Mr4Balla5 I didn't mean that 'shut up' to you, 4balla. Only people that find pleasure in over-simplifying and making everything as glib (see: having fits over practically non-existent banter/discourse) as possible. You're innocent.

  • accepts* sorry

  • @MarshallATV right, there are two, no three - maybe ten

  • @MarshallATV I know right, theres got to be at least 3..... =P jk haha

  • @MarshallATV jajajajajajaja

  • I LOVE USA!

  • when did they first start the 3 point contest

  • he's so good and he shoots with two hands.....usually legends shoot with one

  • b..b..ball!!!

  • What a way to win!

  • It's in White NBA players blood of shooting well, especially 3's.

    -Brent Barry

    -Larry bird

    -Rick barry

    -Jon Barry

-Kyle Korver (Best 3 point % in the history of the NBA, you have to make over 50 3's to qualify)

    -Jason Kapono

-Steve Kerr (Best 3 point % for a career, Must be longer than 5 years and must take over 100 3's to qualify)

    -Steve Nash

-Dirk Nowitzki (Best 3 point% of someone over 6'10")

  • @XBlackRose023X

hahahaha PEJA STOJAKOVIC could top all of them!!! haahahaa

  • @ivan24628999, I forgot Peja but he couldn't beat any of them. WHO THE FUCK SCORES 7 POINTS IN A 3 POINT CONTEST? Besides you're just those new era NBA fans. I've been here since 1994 when I was about 8, you should know that Peja airballs in clutchs situations COUGH-2002WCF-COUGH.

Peja couldn't top any of them...

  • @XBlackRose023X Peja was a machine when it came to making 3's in the zone

Ask any ESPN commentator, shit ask any legit bball spectator.

Don't even try and make this arguement, you know in your heart that Peja was good

  • @XBlackRose023X ,Peja is 3th of all time 3pt shoot player ! :-DDD Dont tell me u didnt knew that?!?!?! if i am one of those new era fan,u are one of those Serbia hater!!! You are broken!

  • @XBlackRose023X I'm not sure I get your point. There are white players who can't shoot, also. There are players of other ethnic groups who are great shooters, and some who suck, also. Practicing a proper jump shot and self-confidence determine a player's ability to shoot the basketball.

  • This guy is just Boss

    So Boss....

  • BOSTON ALL DAII BITCHESS!!!

  • Bird was such a bad ass. Imagine if he was athletic.

  • @windtested He was amazingly athletic. Just not by Jordan standards. It takes crazy conditioning to be in the NBA

  • get off jordans dick

  • I found a pussy!

  • i heard before the contest started, he was looking around and someone asked him "Larry, what are you looking at?" He answered, "Im just looking around to see who is going to finish second." thats why i think he missed the first rack.

  • @nathan3able actually he came in to the locker room before the contest and said "So, which one of you guy is gonna finish second" i will never forget that line ha haaa

  • @Garka872 2k 11 my player commentator told you that

  • @ben5251995 damn you got me! but i still believe it lol

  • @Garka872 u cheesy ass bitch

  • @Garka872 u knw every1 knws u definately never heard that cus u heard it off the 2k insider

  • @nathan3able da 2kinsider says dat in 2k10 my player mode

  • Greatest Basketball Player Of All Time.

  • @dsmiff33 you obviously haven't heard of michael jordan.

  • @kindofbilly everyone says jordan, just cuz of the hype he got cuz nobody during his time compared to him. bird had to compete with magic so the you were either a magic fan or a bird fan. when jordan came into the league bird and magic's time was ending but jordan didnt come into the league with someone competing against him. if the celtics didnt have to compete with the lakers and the 76ers when bird was there he would have had way more championships than jordan. Jordan didnt have competition.

  • @dsmiff33

    ..except jordan

  • I wish I could personally meet him, what an awesome guy!

  • just wanted to see who was coming in second...

  • @timmyb2931 PISTOL PETE HAD MORE OF THESE KINDS OF SHOTS THAN BIRD COULD EVER DREAM ABOUT..WATCH THE PETE MARAVICH 68 POINT GAME SHOT BY SHOT HERE ON YOUTUBE..YOU WILL BE A BELIEVER OF THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER CREATED...HE INVENTED "SHOWTIME."

  • @justcruzzinn that´s right.

  • @justcruzzinn Best player ever? LOL He invented "Injury-time". He could not even get out of the first round and barely made it in the playoffs. The farthest he went in the was when he went to Boston as a role player and leach off Bird's talent. Bird: 3xMVP, 3 rings. Maravich: 0 and dead. Stop sucking Pete's pistol and may he rest in peace.

  • @ThePuwet pistol had led the leauge TWICE in scoring and was according to RED AUERBACH, was the BEST PLAYMAKER in the game PERIOD....had he not blown out his knee, he was the BEST EVER....look at his two injury free seasons....and don't look at his injured career.....he was better than bird...had NO teamates like bird had (danny ainge, parrish, mchale) and still was unstoppable...if he had those teamates you would think differently and NO BLOWN OUT KNEE

  • @littlecomputerman lol dude if he missed the last shit or the tying shot alls he had to do was stick a second finger up haha problem solved

  • my idol

  • @littlecomputerman In a documentary they said that he missed those shots on purpose for drama, and that he put his finger up before he even looked at the shot because he knew it was going in, if he was scared of missing he still had time for another shot but he knew it was in the second he let go.

  • wow fuckin amazing and im a lakers fan

  • Larry Legend had that swagger. It's something only the greats have. In their mind they're always the best player on the floor, and they get their opponents thinking the same way.

I will give credit to guys like Shane Battier, Vernon Maxwell, and Mykel Cooper. They didn't care if you were Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, or Larry Bird. They wanted a piece of you.

  • 2nd best moment in 3pt contest history next to hodge's assault

  • total badass finger

  • Not a Celtics fan but from Indiana. I remember watching this when it happened. Bad ass the way he stuck that finger in the air.

  • As a Laker fan, you know that I hate the Celtics, but Bird putting his finger in the air and walking away from the ball rack as the ball was in the air took brass stones and Bird has them, that was Ultimate Smack.

  • he shot all of them wearing a jacker with the sleeves rolled up

and finished champion even before the last shot went it

    thats muthafuckin swagga

  • that dude had ice in his veins

  • best whiye player ever

  • they don't call you legend because you were good, he was great

  • wow...

  • he is the best player the nba has ever known

  • @BOSTONZBOSS i totaly agree

  • "THE FINGER"......classic!

  • thats true. you know he let it come down to the wire on purpose just for the excitement.

  • Yes it was. That was the contest. Classic.

  • Now that's Swagger.

  • Amazing.Simply amazing.

  • awants to find a man who will share a good time with me
