  • i think night prowler was one of the songs with quite a bit of drive to it

  • very little distortion ???? hahaha lol

  • angus doesn't pick hard, he really brushes the strings

  • @SuperFredSa His brother Malcolm is the rhythm guitarist...low output pickup and semi hollow guitar.

  • Can you do a longer demo of showing the capabilities of the Bravo with the T-60? That would be great!

  • @mapleblackdrums I'll try to put something together - this combo is fun because it will do Telecaster/Fender country as well as Gibson/Marshall Ozzy sounds. It sometimes sounds more Marshall than my Marshall

  • I too have a Bravo, and a T-60 (Well actually I have three T-60's) Man, when it comes to describing a T-60, where do you start? I'll put it this way, I have a total of 17 guitars, and as much as I love my USA Gibson Lespauls and USA Strats, the T-60 is the best for tone, no doubt about it, the Lespaul is my next fav.I bought the Bravo a month ago because my tube amps are all 50 and 100 watts & wanted the lower wattage. I love to see the reaction when my buddies hear it for the first time.

  • @swisskeen I know what you mean with the T-60. I've also got a T-27 and a Gibson SG reissue from 1987. The T-60 is my favorite. A guy that plays with us wanted to trade his Fender USA Strat for the T-60 the first time he heard it. I told him to just sell the strat on ebay and buy 3 T-60s. I love the Bravo amp. It does everything from country clean to Metallica.

  • I have a t60 and a peavey bravo too. I put a weber (green back) in it though. I also have a Weber 50 watt Mass Attenuator that allows me to get full saturation a lower volumes because 25 tube watts is still plenty loud.

I would like a 412 cab to play though.

  • @mapleblackdrums The T-60 is a fantastic guitar, and I think the Bravo is a very versatile amp. The clean channel really shines. The Marshall cabinet really adds to the capabilities of this amp, but my 2 x 12 open back cabinet actually sounds better (I put Eminence Governers in it).

  • hehe i only thumpd up because of his face

  • @mw2mikkel

not nice. I think the guy is just low key ya know...whats to get excited about?

  • @TheGrantCave , which technically is EXACTLY the same thing. Ask an amp tech and he will tell you the same.

  • the Bravo is a great heavy rock amp but not suitable for AC/ DC sound, because it's power amp is VERY CLEAN. Trust me, I used to modify it's power amp to give more power amp distortion, but it didn't. It is a mod that I do to all my amps but a few, like the Bravo, is very hard to modify for power amp distortion. It has a great preamp distortion but you get almost no distortion at all even with the master volume FULL up, and certainly absolutely none at 4.

But still, it's a great heavy rock amp

  • @luigiperso You have to drive more load on the Bravo to get the output tubes to distort. This is why I'm driving a 4 x 12 cabinet with it. Trust me, the output tubes easily go into overdrive. Also, I run tubes at higher current draws than stock. It is hard to get AC/DC with this amp, but it does it well if you know what you're doing.

  • @CozmoCag , my friend I have owned and modified personally about a couple dozens amps, old and new. The Bravo's output doesn't distort at all , and when you modify it to distort, it distorts VERY little compared to even an old tube PA; I am talking about the output section only. Check this, an old PA , at low volume it sounds completely clean, at max volume it gives loads of distortion. The Bravo doesn't do ,search for 'sound city 50 Randall ISO'

  • I am not the guy that posted the video, but I too have an old Sound City PA 50 and owned a Bravo. The difference is like day and night. On the SC, you turn it up and the amp really starts growling. The Bravo stays mostly clean even at max volume. Total difference, believe me. The Bravo is a great amp for 80's tone but for AC/DC is the completely wrong amp

  • @luigiperso The video was not about saying that the Bravo is the best amp for AC/DC sounds. But it does them fine when you dial back the pre-gain. I have a Marshall 1987X head that is obviously the best head for AC/DC tone, since that is what they used. The point of the video is to illustrate the volume balance needed for clean and overdrive that is essential to getting the sound. The Bravo actually does Back In Black album songs very well since it has reverb. AC/DC added that in the studio

  • hey i've got an epiphone sg hooked up to a marshall 15 watt practice amp. any guitar/amp setting suggestions for getting that clean but overdriven sound you were talking about? where it's clean when played softly but overdriven and crunch when you hit it?

  • Great video!! Thx!! Clean distortion, haha exactly how I described it. But umm what amp settings would you recommend for a line 6 spider iii + fender squier strat combo?

  • I bought a Weber Mass 50 watt attenuator that allows me to get full saturation at a lower volume. It is a sweet set up. Now I need a 4/12 with greenbacks in it.

  • dude cozmocag.............ur awesome i have the exact same model of peavey t-60...............they are wonderfull guitars...................what do u think our model is worh if it is in mint condition?

  • @lman147 Not sure, but I think I saw one go for over $400 on e-bay that still had the price tag on it. I'll never get rid of mine - they do not make high quality guitars like this anymore.

  • @CozmoCag ya they are great quality.....and the best part is that i picked mine up for cheap.............i had mine worked on cuz the switch next to the tone knobs didnt work.....so instead of fixin it they took it out......do u no wat that switch is for?

  • awesome man i subscribed! I have a Marshall MG 50fx what settings with a Epiphone Les paul should i use?

  • @thekidwiththeball You have a good setup. Try low distortion (pre-gain on 3 or 4) on the Marshall and the bridge pickup on the Epiphone. You should be able to get that clean AC/DC distortion sound.

  • @CozmoCag , are you joking? the MG 50fx is a cheap solid state amp. You need a tube amp for even remotely getting an hint of AC/DC sound

  • @thekidwiththeball Dude i need to know the exact same Thing!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for this. I don't play much AC/DC, but I'm working on covering Hard to Handle by the Black Crowes and they use that same sort of "clean distortion" sound. I'll give this a try and see how it works.

  • Nice, check out my ACDC tone!

  • @BreakItDown5150 Very good sound you got there.

  • i have an marschall mg 30 fx ! what schould my settings bee??

  • @JohnDeere562092 It will depend a bit on what kind of guitar you play, but try the distortion channel with the gain on about 3, bass, contour and treble all on 5, and turn the volume up. This should give you a good classic rock tone

  • very good video!

  • Do you have any tips for an Ibañez Amp?

  • I think the Ibanez amps are solid state? It is not as easy to get the AC/DC sound without tube distortion, but you can still get close. Turn pre-gain down low and post-gain up for volume. Or play the clean channel with a vintage style distortion pedal.

  • Do you have any tips for an Ibañez Amp?
