may I ask a question? WHERE CAN I FIND THESE PAINTS! Or what type of paints should i be looking at? can I find them at target or walmart? I just need basic paints. Thanks.
Hi obsidaian painting i love your channel especially the assault on black reach videos.I think it will really help me with my asasult on black reach set which will be coming soon off ebay.I have followed all your tips as i am a beginner in warhammer 40k.Thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!
Holy macaroni i just wanted to say that but its probly gonna cost over 100$ in america because the starter kit is like 80 somtin plus paint and primer and brushes so i recomend waiting til your birthday
Thanks to this video series I've decided to finally plunge into 40k, as my friends have been bugging me to do it lately. Got most of the paints, but not all, only so much I can do on the PayPal Bill Me Later function, but I got plenty to get started, thanks again!
couldent u just do buy the black reach assault on black reach and the hobby starter set in the uk it will all cost £92.25 and that a really good deal if ur looking to start 40k
@ObsidianPainting Love the videos you've posted. I've been putting off painting for a while now because it was intimidating for me. I found some Ork figures for dirt cheap (like $0.75 lol) and going to use them to learn. The series has helped a lot.
@ObsidianPainting Can't get that here in Northern Ireland. Think I'll just spend the cash and get some Army Painter primer spray. Don't want to rist using one that hasn't been tested before. Looking forward to the rest of this series, thanks again for the videos, they're fantastic.
Quick query; would something like the Revell paints be useful for these models? When picking up the Black Reach set I noticed that the Citadel paints are hugely expensive, and considering I'm new to this I'd like to avoid spending heaps until I get some time with the game and decide whether I'll be sticking around :)
The thing about games workshops paints, and vallejo paints, p3 paints, reaper paints, foundry, coat d'arms, etc. These are all paints specifically designed for miniature painting. You COULD use other paint products, but you'll find you'll run into troubles and most likely be put off due to frustration. It's like a buying a guitar. If you buy the cheapest one, yo'ull probably stop playing cause it will be unplayable. If you buy a good one, you'll always enjoy it.
Thanks for this vid, mate. I've just put an order down for this exact set at my local store. I'm a complete newbie to Warhammer, but also to the painting aspect of the game.
Go for it !!! I can't wait, just picked up the hobby and i am hooked. I need to paint a ton of miniatures, but dont realy know how to get started. Thanks for commiting to teach people something, i wish there were more people like yourself.
Great idea and can't wait to see this series unfold! Hope you manage to get a regular routine going with it so us painting junkies can get our regular fix! :D
This will be great for my son too as he is just getting into 40k! Nice one.

how does foundation paint is different than just original color?
NaamaMajava 3 weeks ago
@NaamaMajava paint dosent stick well to plastic, foundation/primer does, and creates a surface for normal paint to stick to.

@mw2fan465 oh no!
Thats not what i meant, i meant it costs more to get the hobby starter set and black reach, than getting black reach and paints individually.

Would cheap car primer spray do?
Carnuss 5 months ago
@Carnuss I use krylon, it's 4$ a can in Canada. A 4$ can will literally last you for around 2 whole armies of miniatures.
