@MrSlater94 No problem! Glad everything worked out. I'd appreciate it if you would subscribe so that you might come across some interesting computer tutorials in the future. Thanks for the view and comment!
@deathtink Google what default user names and passwords are on your brand of router. For example, if you have a Belkin router, Google: "Belkin router default username and password" or some variation of such, and you should be able to find it. If not, you can always look on that port forwarding site I posted in the description box.
@jaj0lin0 It means you have multiple instances of "ventsvr" running, control, alt, delete and task manager, and under the process terminate all "ventsvr"'s you see and then close that all down and reload up the ventsvr .
Ok, so I actually did what you did and it worked fine until I disconnected from the server and tried to connect again, it said that I was unnable to connect because I had writen wrong password for the server although I had copied the password from the INI-file and on the MSG it had the normal ready to connect, do you have any clue on what to do? if it helps i've got a WNR1000 Netgear router.
Ok okay okay.... I got the the vent to work for me I'm in everything works. But my friend cannot connect for some reason. I gave him the correct information but it still says contacting server for him? Any help please? Remember I am on Windows 7.
You are the most fucking amazing person ever <3. EVERY tutorial to create a free vent server was all on windows XP. I have Windows 7. Your tutorial explained everything so well i could find what i needed myself. Thanks bro. =D
ok i followed these steps, i can connect to my server on my computer and on other computers in my house on my network but only if they put in my local ip. no one else online can connect to my server. how do i get them on my server?
@bradjoe96 yeah lets not do that...its not that i dont trust you...well ok it that i dont trust u. but then again i dont trust anyone. i was just wondering what might be possible problems. i had the same problem with teamspeak, if that helps.
@juggalodoc That does help a lot actually. This tells me that your most likely issue is firewall issues. In other words, configuring Windows Firewall and your router's firewall to except ports and programs. If you go to Start>Control Panel and go to Security Center and access your Windows Firewall settings, you can go to the exceptions tab and add VentSrv.exe as an exception. Then allow the ports that I said in the video. Then go into your router firewall and forward the same ports. Please reply
well i have alot of people askin me this and its gettin anoying cuz i just happen to own alot of games.that i made and they make ventrillos for my servers

Do you want a FREE ventrilo channel for your guild, clan, group of friends, or whatever?
Connect to vent.empirev.net:3784 and speak to one of the many admins. It's a Public Ventrilo
which offers free channels and forum hosting (w/ passwords if you want)

@juggalodoc There could be a lot of things going wrong with that. I could take remote control of your computer, and take a look at it if you want.
