  • Which is a bit ironic!

  • thegoodteacher(dot)com

  • No one man makes a team all of you dumbfucks out there need to realise that wake up and see life as it is and realise that it is a joint effort like everything else in life that brings something together like the a team ha ha

  • @16bitbomb In all fairness I will say this, what you have hear is a quality quality drummer and backing vocalist, a quality bass player, a quality quality vocalist and John Squire (a guitar god) on the guitar making a legendary band. I only wish they were around for longer, theres not many bands that can play like this live. I wonder if Liam Gallagher did really have any part in writing this.

  • @MREAGLEPAUL Thought that this was Helme's song before even the Seahorses were formed? I thought it was Love Me and Leave Me that was supposed to be the co-write with Gallagher... I could be wrong though.

  • @Basilsparents No, you are right and @MREAGLEPAUL is wrong :) Chris Helme wrote this song.

Liam Gallagher co-wrote Love Me & Leave Me although I think his only contribution was the first line... lol

  • Now tell me you don't love playing this a s a guitarist..... ;)

  • 5 dislikes ian brown behave...............lol

  • looks fookin terrified

  • guitar legend

  • love the drummer

  • Awesome

  • love the lyrics!

  • Squire just owns the stage! Legend

  • great tune!!

  • Love T Sea horses... All time fave album... Nowa days maybe Squire is betteroff not being a part of the remembered tunes... He does his thing & does it well... but sounds more like a theame than a movement.

The feeling is in the song not the tune, roll on Chris!

  • superb.....

  • Dunt Chris look like Shane McGuire off shamless on this video!!!

  • why is squire doing all the jimmy page moves

    rip off

  • @ozrics62 All music moves are ripped off someone and repackaged ...geez

  • I have to say that based on The Seahorses alone Squire has produced the best work post-roses. I love this!

  • mudstonbury 97 lost weekend type thing .....

  • still sounds bloody amazing

  • For me, the Seahorses were no good without Andy Watts. He's awesome :)

  • Fuckin top. but if you love this tune check out Static Ian version top cover

  • doesn't compare to the roses

  • @campbelllovescock thats because they arnt the stone roses....no one can compare to the roses but these had some great tunes in their own right!

  • squires is a legend !!!!

  • All those people! Saw him do this song acousticly in Swindon this week and there was 20 people watching, like watching him play in your living room

  • I know this is a Helme song but Squire has played one of his best parts ever on this tune. Love it

  • Cracking version of a great song....Helm got way too much stick for allsorts in the band....squires on form 4 sure :)

  • yeah pure classic, shame only 1 album.

  • great band

    great vocalist

    i love this song

  • Brilliant but loved to hear Andrew Deakin sing it , RIP Andrew, such a vibrant young man!!

  • Yes he was. thanks Reece :-)

  • don't mean to be thick but who is andrew deakin? Chris helme was always the front man for the seahorses. Sadly got ideas above his station and seahorses broke up.

  • Na you don't sound thick, it's a family friend whose favourite song just so happened to be this'n and he passed away

  • Thanks. RIP AD.

  • I Know Chris Personally ......and I can state that Getting "idea's above his station" was not the reason why the band split up...

    Thanks

  • Also ...check out the Yards ( his new Band ) and some of his solo stuff, I think you won't be disjointed.....some real intelligent songs , voice as got better with age .....check ...it ...don't wreck.

  • is that true that the yards have split already mate?

  • great band, just a shame ian and john coulnt sort it out

  • I actually think if they stayed together for a year or two more then they would have changed the music scene, i am of the age that loved them, they had a more metal guitar sound than everyone else of the time had!

my comment just what i feel

  • i agree its a pure shame, but do you no that 'the seahorses' is an anagram for 'he hate roses'! huh what does that tell you! lol. i will love both bands for all my time! without one we wouldnt have the other.x

  • love this song!!!!!!!!!!

  • cheers ;)

  • I liked this band very much then. I still do now. Pity they didn't do more good tunes such as this. TWELVE YEARS AGO?! wow.

  • tanx, a beautiful treat!

  • There is a saying ' over egging the pudding' and it sits well with Mr Squire

  • Watched this band perform this song on TV back in the 90,s. Did,nt expect to see it again. Amazing. So much talent. Managed to get hold of the album CD a couple of years back and wasn,t dissapointed.

  • squire is so talented its untrue but he`s the biggest turd ever.

  • Amazing Song

  • What a bloody great band....

  • Just learned this on acoustic, class song!!!!

  • The music video has been pulled by the YouTube police. Wankers.

  • It makes me want to torrent. Fucking idiots.

  • Broke up as john squire said if the album didnt get to number one that was that. Chris helme (singer) is touring at the min seen him in newcastle last night he was mint even did some seahorses stuff, and let a local band do love is the law with him and nailed it totaly.

  • sounds brand new mate does he tour right across the u.k

  • Yeah he is mate, if your on face book add him. He has a load of dates he is playing all over Uk, its a must gig to goto, you wont be disapointed mate, the man has just got better since the seahorses!!!

  • cheers mate il need to look into that

  • whatever happen to these fucking cunts ?

  • Lets have less of getting clever! These guys wrote some of the best tunes of the 90's , if you dont get it thats because you listen to Ride ,music by bedwetters for bedwetters!!! I dont see John squire playing bass for Oasis... Why because he's a fucking lead guitarist!!! something Andy Bell once claimed to be!!!

  • Squire threw his toys out the pram AGAIN! and Chrissy Helm said he couldn't work with him so it was over. Search the net there is a torrent floating about of the 2nd album never released but has some cracking tunes on it.

  • rumor has it THE SMITHS AND STONES ROSES WILL PLAY IN MONKEY ISLAND 2010

  • Thats cool, didnt realise you could get that. cheers

  • No bother man, its a class colletion of songs one called "dolphin" is amazing. as for Jandean61 saying The Smiths & The Stone Roses will play Monkey Islan in 2010 he is just talking pish Squire will never work with Brown again & Morrisey is too big headed to get The Smiths back together

  • Aye dolphin is a good track, there is a few on there I instantly like...

  • Aye mate its class just with it had been released.

  • which band made the track dolphin?

  • The Seahorses Mate.

  • cheers, its just i couldn't find it on youtube

  • Shed Seven

  • thanks

  • shed 7 were the shit!!!!!!!

  • this must be the shRed seven cover

  • The greatest song of the britpop era.

and the vocalist wasnt great but squire was showing that a busker was all that was required

  • Your right! greatest song of the Britpop era, and i would say chris wasn't fully formed as a vocalist at this stage but the guy wrote this fucking song, squire just noodled away in the background! And as for a busker was all that was required.. i think an ex stone roses guitarist was all that was required to get this heard! Chris Helme still writing and performing...John Squire painter (and decorator) i rest my case!

  • The Seahorses Are A Fuckin Great Band

They Didnt Get The Credit They Deserved

Squire Is A Fuckin Legend !!!

  • Enjoy The Music And

Shut The Fuck Up Stop Arguin Fuck Sake

    Seahorses Fuckin Amazing

  • Comment removed

  • This is one of my all time favourite indie tracks! Awesome track.

  • Chris did write this, I was at glastonbury when they did this set, chris said I was busking this song over there by the food stands, last year and isnt it ironic now!! John met chris when he played with his old band, in a bar in york and the rest is history. But this is most defo no john squires song, and it just happens to be the best song on the album!!!

  • 12 years later and I still have this song stuck in my head. Sometimes I just burst into this song in the shower, lol. Great great song. One of the most underrated groups ever along with Mansun. :)

  • Yeah man, glasto at its best, chris at his best rock on!!!

  • Who is this radge Nah1Hodge?

Wasting perfectly good space with his shit. Go join a debating society...and also learn to articulate in English.

    Many thanks :P

PS - yes this tune is great :)

  • sum1 who was there at the start of the roses, lived, loved it n now have the memories,as opposed to sittin in ur bedroom smokin weed n WISHIN' u cudda been there,u radish,ur name is almost an anagram of shaggin sheep, which i guess ur quite adept at...ur words r just contumulous 2 me,Happy new sheep

  • lol Okay, while you are wasting your spare time assuming what I get up to on my spare time, lets just assume that you clearly are living in some sort of time distorted dream. The past is the past mate, and no amount of shagging sheep will make up for it - put down the fleece and go see a quack...quick

  • Superb! brings back loadsa great memories of 97/98

  • Shit hot tune - better than Oasis pop shit any ay of the week

  • u r a tosser,album sales,live venues n squire moiderin champagne supernova ~@ knebworth.................oasis pish allover these'AMATEURS..AMATEURS'

  • how the fuck did oasis make it over these guys...

  • very underrated band. quality music.

  • How would you feel if I was to

kneel right down at your feet

    Right now? Persuasive words :)

  • LOL!

  • Anyone know what this tune is about?

  • it's about...4:22 long. ;o)

  • ITS Squire tellin IAN BROWN 2 f/o but gives the writing credit to the lead singer coz hes got no balls~c0ked-up turd, listen to Glenntre play guitar n u realise Squire aint the legend,or Glenntre is too,.IB has shat all over JS since the Roses split, thats y he's dissappeared down his nostrels doin''art' wan@er

  • is that true, That squire really wrote this?

  • ERE M8 YOUR A TIT

  • If Squire wrote this and gave the credit to Chris, how the fuck was Chris singing it in his previous band while gigging in York at least 2 years before he even met Squire??? I was at the gig Squire came to with his guitar-tech (also from York) where Squire saw Chris playing for the first time - and he played 'Blinded' that night!!! N.B. The story about Squire seeing Chris busking is just a myth, although Chris did also busk as well as play with his band and play solo. Shove that in your pipe...

  • Let's face it - the only brilliant part is the intro which was written by Squire.

  • shit, bring back so many memories, met a great girl at a seahorses concert, shit now im married with 2 kids, wow, things like this put the world into place!!!bring them back....and the stone roses!

  • christ...john squire really isn't very crap is he?!

  • The Seahorses > Modern day 'indie' shit.

    Completely.

  • 1997, what a year!

  • Hmmmm, start of the decline from the Britpop years, but then these guys and The Verve did good.

  • the good old days, what a band

  • what a band. john squire no.1

  • no.1 r sole

  • one of the best bands of the 90s and best album awsome

    what a band

  • If you want my opinion i think that indie bands now are a load of crap we need bands like the seahorses and roses to bring back true british music not all this crap thats oput now lol !

  • Giid call, the're some good bands around but not many, nothing like the 90's at all, it's a shame.

  • your right,i was always at gigs from 96-2000,mansun,bluetones,kula shaker, ocs, charlatans, oasis, now i wouldnt pay to see anybody in the top 40,total shite

  • ano wt u mean a wudnt pay the money 2 watch wts out nw ad ratha pay twice as much to see the roses nd happy mondays o wteva.

  • Wut u chatting about? ian brown is the nuts but i agree stone roses were a different class...not fair to compare the seahorses n the roses!!

but the seahorses were quality betta than alot of indie bands around at the moment!!

  • browns gone downhill 2.renis band were ok but didnt last long, i think??i wish more bands were great like the roses were..not been much since then!

  • I enjoyed the song very much. However, I would not go overboard by stating that the guitarist is one of the best in the world! far from it.But the dude is a very decent guitar player. Please check out players such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stanley Jordan, Greg Howe and Paco De Lucia who have all honed their guitar skills into a magical musical craft. Cheers

  • Squire is one of the finest ever. However, coming from Manchester I may be a little biased. Oh and Meo, this song always was squire soloing all the way through it. You wanna see squire ruin a tune watch him guest with Oasis @ Knebworth 96 on Champagne Supernova. Believe they turned him down in the end.

  • I'm not from Manchester! And I totally agree, squire is a master of guitar playing, I love everything he has done.

  • good song shame its squire soloing all the way through yet again

  • i couldnt agree more .he solos through the entire album, great album to much "look at me I can play the guitar really well"

  • well, maybe if you like that its good? i enjoy guitar playing, so the more there is the better.

  • Lead guitar is great all the way through the track.

  • great guitarist, not so good at singing tho me thinks.reform the roses john!

  • Yeah, but he's said that he would. However Brown and Reni won't.

  • The roses ruled. However, Brown has never been able to sing. Ever.

  • neither does helme.

  • he fuckin cud listen 2 OSM, n live at the hacienda~liam gallgher sounds poor nowadays-its called age n whether theyve been abusing their talent.IF BROWN CANT SING ,Y DOES HE SELL OUT ALLOVER THE UK,U Ignorant sh1t

  • John's the man here, one of the best guitarist ever no doubt!!!

  • love this band!! reminds me of summer and surfing 3ft and clean!! whooosh

  • Now that's class. Squire is a better guitarist than i realized, and i thought he was great anyway!

  • wheres the original video ? MANCHESTER ROCKS !! and im from SCARBOROUGH xxxxx

  • I hear John Squire is taking a musical sabatical & concentrating on his excellent art work

    the guys a legend!

  • probably one of the best guitar riff intros ever!

  • I saw Chris Helme at afestival in Scarborough, and he thought he was it. I told him he was on a downward spiral, he threw red wine over me, so I knocked him out. And kicked him when he was down. Puff.

  • man i was there it was great even if the memory is a bit hazy as it was a messy weekend.

  • CLASS..................... love it brings back good memories, come on seahorses get back together.

  • Oh man, why did someone have to remind me it was 10 years ago this year?

  • am the only person on tube wishing i was older i wish i was 10 years older for seahorses, shed seven, the charlatans bluetones etc i love it all

  • shed seven bluetones and charlatans are still touring mate

oh and you forgot the stone roses. - best band in the world.Cnfirmed

  • *goes to ebay to buy the album*... Quality.. x

  • Just like to say that John Squire is an absolute legend

  • seahorses were under rated, they were better than oasis and all yo other shit for sure

  • Rose ashes! But a great band and stunning track all the same!

  • Oasis are a good band yeah but they are really just a beatles tribute band. I mean come on the guy has a son called Lennon!

The album this song comes from is great.

  • Squires guitar makes the song. Saw Chris Helme do this acoustically at York Uni, how the mighty have fallen.

  • brill but we dont hate the roses do we lads manchester lalala

  • 10 years ago... shit I'm old

  • oasis>stone roses>john squire>ian brown>the seahorses imo

  • comment about oasis is utter shit by the way.On this band and this song spot on always loved them and it brings bak good memories when i here it good post r kid

  • does any one get the anagram the sea horses

  • Yep, HE HATES ROSIES

  • Very nice

  • My fave Seahorses track...all Squire!!

  • Love this song. Reminds me of good times. Thanks for posting!

  • I bought this album when it first came out, everybody i knew loved them and still rant on about them even to this day. shame band members always have their differences which causes potentially great bands to split. nevermind eh

  • thanks for posting!!!

  • Top tune! Melodious and powerful. Very much underrated band. Unfortunately at the time everyone kept going on and on about Oasis (who were essensially a Beatles tribute band), that several more original bands got ignored.

  • Squires? A mad "charlie" head by all accounts. A shame. A great band!

  • fuckin great

  • One amazing tune...so few remember it

  • one of the oldies britpop

  • i was there 2 but i dont remember any of it

  • quality

  • quality...proud to say i was there... in body if not mind

  • Real shame they are no more!

  • top

  • Class.
