No one man makes a team all of you dumbfucks out there need to realise that wake up and see life as it is and realise that it is a joint effort like everything else in life that brings something together like the a team ha ha
@16bitbomb In all fairness I will say this, what you have hear is a quality quality drummer and backing vocalist, a quality bass player, a quality quality vocalist and John Squire (a guitar god) on the guitar making a legendary band. I only wish they were around for longer, theres not many bands that can play like this live. I wonder if Liam Gallagher did really have any part in writing this.
@MREAGLEPAUL Thought that this was Helme's song before even the Seahorses were formed? I thought it was Love Me and Leave Me that was supposed to be the co-write with Gallagher... I could be wrong though.
Love T Sea horses... All time fave album... Nowa days maybe Squire is betteroff not being a part of the remembered tunes... He does his thing & does it well... but sounds more like a theame than a movement.
The feeling is in the song not the tune, roll on Chris!

don't mean to be thick but who is andrew deakin? Chris helme was always the front man for the seahorses. Sadly got ideas above his station and seahorses broke up.
Also ...check out the Yards ( his new Band ) and some of his solo stuff, I think you won't be disjointed.....some real intelligent songs , voice as got better with age .....check ...it ...don't wreck.
I actually think if they stayed together for a year or two more then they would have changed the music scene, i am of the age that loved them, they had a more metal guitar sound than everyone else of the time had!
i agree its a pure shame, but do you no that 'the seahorses' is an anagram for 'he hate roses'! huh what does that tell you! lol. i will love both bands for all my time! without one we wouldnt have the other.x
Watched this band perform this song on TV back in the 90,s. Did,nt expect to see it again. Amazing. So much talent. Managed to get hold of the album CD a couple of years back and wasn,t dissapointed.
Broke up as john squire said if the album didnt get to number one that was that. Chris helme (singer) is touring at the min seen him in newcastle last night he was mint even did some seahorses stuff, and let a local band do love is the law with him and nailed it totaly.
Yeah he is mate, if your on face book add him. He has a load of dates he is playing all over Uk, its a must gig to goto, you wont be disapointed mate, the man has just got better since the seahorses!!!
Lets have less of getting clever! These guys wrote some of the best tunes of the 90's , if you dont get it thats because you listen to Ride ,music by bedwetters for bedwetters!!! I dont see John squire playing bass for Oasis... Why because he's a fucking lead guitarist!!! something Andy Bell once claimed to be!!!
Squire threw his toys out the pram AGAIN! and Chrissy Helm said he couldn't work with him so it was over. Search the net there is a torrent floating about of the 2nd album never released but has some cracking tunes on it.
No bother man, its a class colletion of songs one called "dolphin" is amazing. as for Jandean61 saying The Smiths & The Stone Roses will play Monkey Islan in 2010 he is just talking pish Squire will never work with Brown again & Morrisey is too big headed to get The Smiths back together
Your right! greatest song of the Britpop era, and i would say chris wasn't fully formed as a vocalist at this stage but the guy wrote this fucking song, squire just noodled away in the background! And as for a busker was all that was required.. i think an ex stone roses guitarist was all that was required to get this heard! Chris Helme still writing and performing...John Squire painter (and decorator) i rest my case!
Chris did write this, I was at glastonbury when they did this set, chris said I was busking this song over there by the food stands, last year and isnt it ironic now!! John met chris when he played with his old band, in a bar in york and the rest is history. But this is most defo no john squires song, and it just happens to be the best song on the album!!!
12 years later and I still have this song stuck in my head. Sometimes I just burst into this song in the shower, lol. Great great song. One of the most underrated groups ever along with Mansun. :)

If Squire wrote this and gave the credit to Chris, how the fuck was Chris singing it in his previous band while gigging in York at least 2 years before he even met Squire??? I was at the gig Squire came to with his guitar-tech (also from York) where Squire saw Chris playing for the first time - and he played 'Blinded' that night!!! N.B. The story about Squire seeing Chris busking is just a myth, although Chris did also busk as well as play with his band and play solo. Shove that in your pipe...
shit, bring back so many memories, met a great girl at a seahorses concert, shit now im married with 2 kids, wow, things like this put the world into place!!!bring them back....and the stone roses!

Please check out players such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stanley Jordan, Greg Howe and Paco De Lucia who have all honed their guitar skills into a magical musical craft. Cheers
Squire is one of the finest ever. However, coming from Manchester I may be a little biased. Oh and Meo, this song always was squire soloing all the way through it. I bought this album when it first came out, everybody i knew loved them and still rant on about them even to this day. shame band members always have their differences which causes potentially great bands to split. nevermind eh
Top tune! Melodious and powerful. Very much underrated band. Unfortunately at the time everyone kept going on and on about Oasis (who were essensially a Beatles tribute band), that several more original bands got ignored.
Which is a bit ironic!

Squires? A mad "charlie" head by all accounts. A shame. A great band!
