  • he's been real on the court and off. he's inspiring .....

  • It was touching and real. I hear so many in need.

  • i just had a kidney transplant and im going to help find a cure

  • This idiot Mourning is an Obamao cloney drone whose Death Panel policies are killing people right now with over $500 illion in cuts to medical services for very ill people. It is happening now.. Ignorant jocks should be seen and not heard

  • watch?v=fPWUBUcu0YY

Alonzo's game winner in rookie year

  • That's right! FSGS isn't a death sentence, just an obstacle to be overcome! It's nice to see another sufferer with so much hope. It inspires others in similar situations to hold on and fight. I know I'm going to beat this too!

  • I'm 23 and have been on dialysis for a little over a year now, this guy is such an inspiration. At times I just want to give up but people like Alonzo give me hope.....

  • I went through this same thing. Getting your life back on track after kidney disease destroys it is much more difficult than dealing with the illness itself, pre-transplant. It sounds crazy, but it's true. It isn't until your health problems are fixed and you have a new kidney that you come to fully appreciate just how much damage your life suffers when you're sick like this. It's tough, but he's right about everything he says.

  • @elsquibbs thank you.

  • It would be a better world if more people went out a singed up for ORGAN DONATION. Think of all the people that you could help if you just singed up for a very good program THAT SAVES LIFE'S!!!

  • he's my inspiraton. his book is amazing. GO HEAT!!!

  • I always said he was a very HANDSOME MAN.

  • amazing testimony

  • be like him

  • full respect

  • Wow. What a man.

  • had he not been on roids, he wouldn't have been sick. a top specimen of the physical man, and suddenly he has a kidney problem. That's why he didn't ask "why me?" He knew why. He asked "why now" because he was roiding to improve his career not cut it short. conjecture perhaps, but makes sense to me.

  • I know that steroids are rampant in pro sports, and you may be right, but Zo never went through the unexplained bulking up that Bonds did. I give the man a pass, innocent until proven guilty.

  • well you may be right, but i also think that if you were to compare a picture of him at the beginning of his career to when he was in his prime, you would see a marked difference. it's possible that he just worked out better in the NBA and that accounts for all of it, but... he mysteriously comes down with a liver disease at like 29 years old?

  • focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is a genetic disease. He was born with it.

  • @luckystrikebrand1983 Bullshit. 17,000 people/year die from use of non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil,Motrin,Bextra and Celebrex. 10% of all kidney failures are due to these drugs. He and Sean Elliot developed kidney failure due to use of these drugs.

  • @drfittt I have focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and I WAS BORN WITH IT!!!

  • @luckystrikebrand1983 There are people born with congenital disease. People can also develop iatrogenic disease from drug side effects. Your cases are different. Don't project your clinical history on anyone else.

  • @drfittt That is true, BUT focal segmental glomerulosclerosis takes any where from 15 years t0 30 years to show up.

  • Great speech. There was a certain power and meaning behind his words. You didn't just hear it... you felt it and understood.
