  • I love your videos...they save me money!lol

but really I just got this plane from sn hobby for 100$ arf

what I noticed is the area that is carved out for the control arms to move into isnt big enough. You can hear the servo over loading ,so I took a screwdriver of the same diamiter and just pushed it into the slot to make it deeper and now they dont bind and squak

  • can somebody send to me а muz track from this video?

    o just link may be...

  • if you knew it was going to crash why didnt you try hitting one of your friends?

  • DAVE! i know you don't normally reply people but please reply me! Or someone please reply me! I have damaged 2 of my batteries which look way better than the ones in this video.. The voltage of each individual cells are okay and they're not like 1 volt above the other kinda thing.. is it still okay for usage? pls reply thanks!

  • whats the song

  • Thanks for sharing. Thats crazy the manfacture to release a product that does that. That could of easliy been delt with in production. Glad it all worked out and nobody got hurt.

  • Dave, I do hope you will not take this the wrong way old buddy, but I really wouldnt have extected you to fly an EDF like that with such sloppy control surfaces, and to fly behind yourself where people are present..

I'm still a newbie and have only been flying almost 2 years, but flying behind you in our club is a really serious no-no...

Still, 4 guys in a field, nobody else watching... What could possibly go wrong... lol :-)

Amazed at that battery too, tough pack huh....

    Keep safe Dave :-)

  • My battery, my money, my battery. Jeez Dave, what about the people there? I have a ton of respect for you but this seems to be below your standards. At the end of the video you say, "I hope you learned something from this" but I wonder if you did or not? (Sincerely and with due respect. -Mick)

  • Dave your crazy, but i love ur video's, that lipo is amazing, but i would'nt want to pull any amps thru it. Happy flying now you hear.

  • Hi Dave, yeah...lucky is a pretty good description. Following someone's advice on how to dispose of a damaged LiPo, I once punctured a 3S 2200 ma battery in my kitchen sink filled with salt water. The results were quite amazing...kind of like a little volcano going off in the house.

  • were did you get the plane launcher ramp, and what do you call it?

  • Mate - I reckon you could get a brick to fly. Fair dinkum. You amaze me :))

Re that buggered LiPo - pretty unreal it still held it's V's across all cells in that ragged condition. Lucky but that it didn't puncture a cell - could have been a whole different story *eek*

    Q:)

  • flies well :)

  • So an edf going that speed packed with that size battery couldn't kill huh? Well try it in your next video. I mean math proves it so no harm done. After reading all your credentials some of you comments amaze me.

  • Well glad I bought a Habu air frame instead for $99 and added my own electronics. A clone is a clone but a Habu is sweet! Excellent engineering.

  • amazing!

  • Excellent video Dave. It was a blast coming up and flying with You, Jeff and Bob. Thanks for the great time. I really appreciate it.

    Thumbs Up ~ Eric

  • Good job getting it back together! One of the first things I check on anything fast is the servo linkage on elevator. If I can move it with my hand on the ground I don't fly it. After getting high speed flutter on my tail surfaces at 100mph and losing total control is what did that for me! I don't ever want to hurt anyone when flying and a fast plane out of control could do just that. This teaches a good lesson! That you should always do a thorough pre flight! This could have been prevented.

  • I love your vids Dave I dont miss a sigle one but I have to say that you changed the set up on that because you said it did not have enough throw so maybe the sloppy connection was yours Im sorry Love the vids keep em coming PS I also have a meteor and it flys great

  • I can't see $ sign, but some deformed values from LED display.

BTW, you are a lucky, Lucky, LUCKY guy !

2 m from a woman, a man, some windshields and, finally, the lipo did not even explode...

  • Thank you for all your videos and instructions. You make it easier for

All of us new to this hobby. Take look

At my model hit miss engines collection

    Under Nykkytta .

  • Great rebuild, Dave. What was the brand of battery that crashed?

  • @dietcoke1996 Gravity hobby....

  • @elmardus I see. Thanks! That's one heck of a sturdy lipo, lol.

  • Another POS from NitroPlanes.

  • my first tip with this jet put spoilerons on it! it really does make a difference and could you possibly buy some of those cheap hobbypartz lights and do a review on those they look awesome! and i haven't had any problems at all with my meteor i love it!

  • great video! gotta love hot glue...

  • bro ya never fail to entertain and amaze me with your repairs added to my favs list !

  • That sucker is fast! Great video again, Dave!

  • Give us some stronger servos! ATLEAST a corona MG equivalent or any 15+g MG servos! I wouldnt trust nylon or carbon gears at 90MPH and huge control surfaces.

  • like nature states.... jets are not ment to fly upside down LOL

  • @wwwleonnl Ever watched Top Gun?

  • Glue guns are an indispensible tool for rebuilding a foamie! I love your videos Dave!!

  • Well lastly if that was a "controled crash?!?" I am so glad that woman in the van didn't get hurt. Different angle and these things can kill. Respect other AMA members if your going to preach it in you discription....practice it. Number of people on the flightline??? Distance from you, the jet and them??? Wow. Lipos don't always explode in a crash, most of the time they don't. This crap is what makes membership cost increase almost yearly.

  • @vizzuleyes Chill out mate, no need to spam a video with 3 massive replies. We get it. Now go off and enjoy flying for chrissake.

  • I'm not saying your not an excellent pilot but why does everyone have to have an excuse. Like it was posted everyone crashes even the best. Example, watch some Falter Losemann vids. He is one of the best and crashes, and one of the best in the world Ali machinchy the best in my opinion has 2 crashes of $80+thousand dollar jets on YouTube in his articles hell tell you most of his crashes where pilot error. PEOPLE JUST ADMIT IF YOU MADE A MISTAKE. IT HAPPENS. I CRASH... SEE THAT WASN'T HARD.

  • Im sorry I can't be as sweet as everyone else here. However your talking about AMA rules and insurance and you broke too many for me to count on this video. Flying on the side of a road, guessing that's not an AMA cert field. Crossing the flight line at high speed many times. Then blaming the aircraft for pilot error. Cmon high speed inverted bank right at the flight line with a nitroplanes model what did you expect? Your not flying a $800 jet its a cheap over powered foamie.

  • WHERE did you get the clear helicopter?

  • That is a cool little jet. That lipo is unbelievable!

  • well at least that pole wasn't a mailbox \

    :)

  • awesome

  • did the battery leak any of that purple stuff that really smells in A lipo?

  • do you think the meteor is good or bad plane?

  • Their are videos on youtube that show lipos going on fire very easily >

Does this prove that it wont happen or were you just lucky on this occasion .

  • @spektrum33 Lucky, I guess.

  • @NightFlyyer Well the reason i ask is that in my club one car was totaly destroyed by a lipo that went on fire and it had no damage < and the battery terminals had not been crossed as their was a safety cap over them to prevent shorting

  • @spektrum33 no one i know has ever had a fire- ive smashed lipos almost that bad

  • @spektrum33

also they are getting better and better.. btw lithium (the content that burns) reacts to oxygen but also with water.. lets say it was a rainy day he crashed it would have made the risk of fire bigger.

so remember.. dont put out lipo fire with water.. that would probebly just worsen the problem

  • lol dollar signs, thats pretty cool that the battery checker would for lack of better words impose a signal into your camera. Something fishy going on hahaha Happy Flying!!!

  • If you were anyone else, I would've ripped you a new one for allowing that POS to get behind the flight line. lol... Since it was you, I know you did everything you could to keep everyone safe. I'm glad no one was hurt.

  • Could have easily killed that woman

  • @Raptor50aus Or anybody for that matter. That is why I steered and tried to fly between the cars, but was still too low to pull out. Everybody flying knows there is a risk of accidents, as people crash RC airplanes everyday. That is why we have AMA insurance and we always try to enforce safety rules.

  • @NightFlyyer So true, even if your plane is slow and light, that propeller is spinning around 20000RPM and could easily cut through your flesh resulting in a slight chance of an infection

  • @NightFlyyer

No. The force would be about hmmmm........

    38.8oz = 1.0272727kg

i'll say it was going 200ft/sec^2

67.194545454545 newtons not enough to kill a human even if struck in the head.

  • @airlinerdude12 You can't calculate impact that way. It depends on what part of the plane hits the person, and where. If the nose hits, someone's head, the impact force will be concentrated at one point, and the deceleration will be high. If the plane hits the body, and impacts sideways, the force would be distributed over a larger surface area and deceleration would be lower. F=MA, and A depends on impact.

These jets are basically cruise missiles, it can indeed cause serious damage.

  • I enjoyed the video and the great crash..

You are living large my friend and having a good doing it.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Nitro planes make good planes! They have spectacular failures! as seen above, they need lots of work to be able to fly high g-force and large air pressure

  • @t28trojan1 nitroplanes dont make the planes, they are the distributer :)

  • I hate to see a meteor crash. Its now my favorite plane!

  • @rcplanes1234 I hate to see any crash, and I like the Meteor too, especially if you beef up the elevator rods like I did BEFORE you fly it. And for the Price of a Habu, I can buy 4 Meteors! Thanks for the comments.

  • @NightFlyyer Exactly! I need to come up and fly with you guys. Not to far away

  • Ha,ha,ha. Nice repair skills!

  • It's amazing the punishment RC planes can take and still fly after a basic rebuild, thanks for sharing Dave.

  • @locouk Thanks kindly. Yep, I love my Electric Glue Gun!!

  • @NightFlyyer

    We love you Dave!

  • @NightFlyyer

You know, since it was gonna crash, it's handy it landed almost in your car.

Saves the looking for and walking!

  • Looks like you had lots of fun during the fly-in :-)

  • Do you have any info you can share on your EDF cat-launcher? Thanks.

  • @gatorlynch Thanks. I have sereral videos on my NightFlyyer-A-Pult. You can search all the thumbnails on the right side of my home page or do a search within my channel for my launcher videos. Thanks again.

  • press 9 heheeeee

  • no harm done, glad nobody got hurt and you can still fly the Meteor Dave.

  • @beverke7 Thanks Kindly. Me too. If I had beefed up the elevator in the beginning, I would have never had this happen. But now, it is a very fast plane and I like to fly it.

  • the plane just wanted to live up to its name as a meteor

  • Another good show. Do you have any unconventional flyers including original designs?

  • @baalisgod666 Thanks kindly. Yep, I fly lots of unconventional planes, 1 bladed helicopters, Flying wings, UFO space craft, stormlaunchers with big motors, night flying, etc. Just scan the thumbnail pictures on the right of my home page and you will see almost 500 videos on just about anything RC and many RC history videos.

  • Great reassembly!

  • sell the lipo on ebay :D

  • @thedoorsbiggestfan Haha. I am smiling. Thanks

  • Awesome Repaire JOB

  • @SlyDawg951 Thanks. Yep it flies good again and with lots more control since I beefed up the elevator.

  • Just a guess but I think the $ signs , Have something to do with the scan rate of your camera, and the refresh rate of the meter,

Dave I always enjoy your videos! this was a good one. Fly-in's are always a lot of fun.

    Man that meteor is fast!.

    jafo

  • @EarlRausch Yes, I think your right. Never saw it before during any of my videos. I use Canon Elph 780 HD cameras. Thanks for the comments.

  • never liked that plane

  • @f1adore Well, it flies just as fast if no faster than the Habu and is made out of the good foam that can take lots of abuse, and the electrics it came with all work. If a person would beef up the elevator rods like I did, they would have good luck, and besides that, I can buy almost 3 of the Meteors for the price of a Habu.
