  • I've known Narvel since 1980, I met him for the first time and met him in again in Spring of 2002. We see him whenever we can and he truly is a wonderful performer and a gentleman.

  • Just saw Narvel perform on 1/28/2012 at the FLORIDA SUNSHINE OPRY in Eustis, FL and spoke with him before and after the show. What a warm, genuine, wonderful man! Still singing and performing in his 73rd year. One of the few artists to chart songs in 5 decades, from the 1950s into the 1990s, and still touring the USA and Europe. What a performer and artist!

  • Awesome performer!!

  • I met Narvel the first time in 1980. Since 2001 and a new wife we have traveled many times to see him perform. We've met him many times and have received Christmas cards from him. He is truly a talent and a wonderful person.

  • @Henning2Henning I've only met Narvel a couple of times in Minnesota, but you're right...........he's the best! He stood for photos with me, gave me his autograph and chatted like we were old friends. Talent.........absolutely, wonderful person????????????? OMG YES! If you see him, tell him an old lady in Minnesota loves him!

  • Met Narvel twice, have autographs............want to marry him..............or at least let him sing this song in my home! What a talent! Light my way...........please.

  • As far as I know it's only available on a vinyl 45. Try ebay or used record shops. When you find it, send me a copy : robb.henning.sr@gmail.com

  • Does anyone have his version of Since I Met You Baby done in 1968

  • So you live in MO.? What is it Malden? robb.henning.sr@gmail.com

  • He is still fantastic! Saw him in concert & couldn't believe he still hits all those high notes!!!

  • Yes, my wife and I saw Marvel in November of 2009 in Cleveland and he sang "Crying" at that time. I had been a fan since 1980 and never heard him do that song before, he truly is one of a kind. Not only is he a fine entertainer, but also a wonderful person.

  • @Henning2Henning Marvel?

  • @debbiedamooseful Yep, Narvel is a Marvel!

  • @debbiedamooseful The best.

  • @debbiedamooseful Read the other posts.....someone called him Marvel. I thought it was a typo, but funny.

  • I was with a group in the mid 70's in Memphis that backed Narvel on a show there. As per usual he came into the dressing room and we went over the 4 or 5 songs he would do and one of them was Roy Orbison's "Crying". I didn't realize what a great voice and range he had until he did that song onstage! He had the crowd in a frenzy and it was great! Someone said he didn't get the credit he derserved. That's an understatement for sure! Keep on, Narvel!!

  • I heard this guy is one great dude!

  • I was surprised to see your posting because I didn't know Narvel to have a computer. However, you would be in a better position to know than I.

Yes, I've known him since 1980, and he still sings as good as ever!

  • Ain't My Unlce a great singer I love you Uncle Narvel, From BOO BOO. Daddy says he said He loves you to.

  • I first saw Narval around 1965-66 as opening act for Charley Rich. People liked Narval so well that he came back on after Charley and played a few more songs. Saw him several times until 68 when I went into Navy. In 72 he came to the base that I was stationed and played in the club for six days. Really enjoyed hearing him and talking to him. havent seen him since, but still listen to my 33 1/3 RPM's.

  • I always felt that Narvel was the white version of Percy Sledge. No one can croon those romance songs like those two! Narvel is also a great person! Love him!

  • You might also check out John Berry, he's another favorite of ours.

  • GREAT VOICE...STILL !!!!

  • Still going strong, check his web page.

  • iz he still with us

  • My wife and I have seen Narvel do that many times. Not only is he a great performer, but a wonderful person also.

  • @Henning2Henning He's one of the nicest people I have ever met. I used to talk to him and I hung around his son Bub. Great people!

  • saw Narvel a few years back on the Slim Whitman farewell tour of the UK , when he walked out i swear everybody was laughing because he looked so comical walking out , but i tell you he stole the show and i am a massive Slim fan , all we talked about on the way home was how good Narvel was , superb

  • It's too hard for me to call a winner- Narval and Johnny co-own this song! The only thing I could ask for would be to have someone in the background playing a B-3 with some real Gospel authority!

    Just my dos centavos, folks...

    DZL<3

  • Nice version, but you can't go past the original by Johnny Adams.

    Such strong vocals!

  • Damn Narvel still sounds as good as ever, such a haunting voice...true classic country!

  • Good job! Actually I was sitting in the audience that night. Once in a while, Cadillac will attract a good act, and this was one of those times.

  • a simply magical song. nobody can ever sing that song like him!!!!!!

  • have you ever heard the original version by the Tan Canary, Johnny Adams?

  • A true "rock-a-billy" singer. Never got the recognition he deserved.

Saw him in Richmond in the mid 90's. Sonja..hope you see this, and you're well.

    I'm sorry.

  • I have known Narvel all my life. Wonderful man. Beautiful heart and soul.
