Bachan was only as good as the dialogue that was scripted 4 him & he's acknowledged this fact on numeous occasions. in particular he's deeply greatful 2 actor Salman Khan's father, Salim & his former writing partner, Javed Akhter. 2 give u an idea of Salim-Javed's artistic mastery, they r the ones who wrote the dialogue to d film Sholay. time-out!

there were three great, all time classic scenes in Deewar:

1 - the Temple scene where Vijay begs for his mother's life

2 - the Bridge scene where Vijay tries to persuade Ravi to transfer to another area.

3 - the House scene where Ravi confronts Vijay about his criminal behaviour.

... you can't get better than these anywhere... and the rest of the film was also just about perfect.
