Pac wasn't even close to being the best. It was his politics that captured imaginations worldwide... Most real rappers today could outrhyme Pac! Like Crooked I, Canibus, Jay, Nas etc. Pac would shout alot and make lots of threats so the uneducated would assume he won.

Don't get me wrong, Pac is one of my favourite people in history and i own every available CD or even tape in some cases, but he really wasn't an incredible lyricist or rapper. Big L would've wiped the floor with him in seconds.

you're severely underestimating pac's lyrical skills if you think those ppl and nas, and Jay z of all people could outrhyme him, two people that practically bit other people's styles to comprise their own, especially nas. pac got his deal by freestyling altho he was known for the poetic writing. the thing is pac said in an interview why he chose to rhyme straightforward instead of trying to use a bunch of empty words to rhyme cuz he was influenced by marin city ca to not skip around the topic.
