Generally (and I mean not absolutely) artistic people tend to be liberal because art is about emotion. Conservatives admit themselves they are not emotional and have faith in what is tried and true. To be a true artist you have to take emotional risks and you have to not be afraid to be vulnerable- whether it be comedy or poetry. This is just not the conservative's strong point. This is the reason entertainment is a left dominant business.

You CAN be a funny conservative, but its much, much more difficult, because you likely have religious or sexual hang ups that really prevent mining the best stuff.

Ron Paul, a doctor who should know better, doesn't accept evolution as the foundation of modern day biology. That's intellectual dishonesty and simply not respectable.
