This is odd, normally all ceremonial guard duties are carried out by composite Governor General's Foot Guard and the Montreal based Grenadier Guards, as well as units from across the Canadian Forces, and as of 2008 that includes Navy and Air Force, but they still always wear the Guards uniform on sentry and ceremonial duties. Does anybody know what occasion this is? If regular summer sentry duties, why is it all Air Force??
@corneliusvanDB The GGFG are just part of it. All 3 branches participate, Air Force wear their dress uniform, Navy theirs, and GGFG or Grenadiers wear the scarlet, bien sur. Some visiting Regiments may also wear Scarlet if it is part of their ceremonial uniforms, like The Royal Regiment of Canada and I think PPCLI as well,
@corneliusvanDB For a short period of time the Navy and Air Force do duties because as my CO worded it "There are airmen and sailors on that monument along side the soldiers"
I looked into that and all it said was a ceremonial guard however members of the Canadian legion think that the tomb deserves a military or police honour guard

@tqxy24 Yep, Airforce. This seems to be a special occasion where the Ceremonial Guard is not on post.

@tqxy24 there is a special platoon dedicated to this and from their uniform most likely air command
Freepepsi42 1 year ago
@tqxy24 they are the Governor General's Foot Guards basicly they are from the army and they are primary reservists.
Freepepsi42 1 year ago
@Freepepsi42 There are no Governor Generals Foot Guard in this video, as all elements perform guard duty at the tomb, not just the GGFG.
