I really love both legend of the condor heroes 2008 and Tian Wai Fei Xian (天外飛仙),both hu ge and ariel lin act very well ,like when hu ge act as guo jing,(i think it's like a pretty difficult role to play dumb in that show

@epicwolf Other than Legend of the Condor Heroes, they've only worked together on one other drama, Tian Wai Fei Xian (天外飛仙), otherwise known as Fairy from Wonderland or The Little Fairy. =)

I LOVE these two dramas! I usualy hate ancient dramas. it just bored my ass off. But these two is so so amazing good directed/made. especially Fairy from wonderland.The drama is sooo outstanding made. Love the Teacher character..hahahah..a little bit of shakespreare, DaVinci and the chinese philosopher, smash together =D

and of course the touching love stories or more correctly -love expression- from Ariel lin and Hu Ge make me want to watch these two dramas over and over again. =D fantastic!

I think Ariel and Hu Ge did an excellent job as HR and GJ in LOCH 08. I gave other remakes the benefit of the doubt to entice me the way that the 83 version did. I was quite disappointed with the way the actors never portrayed GJ and HR right but Hu Ge and Ariel gave their all and impressed me (and I'm sure most viewers) all the way with their talent. They've drawn me to watching a lot of mainland China movies and series. Lately, I've found so many capable actors in the movies that Hu Ge is in.

People can't control the face that they're born with..it is what it is & beauty is in the eye of the beholder too. I've seen ariel in tokyo juliet, love contract, and iswak and i can tell she knows how to play different types of characters so i know she'll do just fine as huang rong. Hu Ge is not burly like guo jing is supposed to be, but the trailers convince me that hu ge captures guo jing's dimwit intelligence accurately. i have the feeling that this one's not very close to the novel though

Wonderwall, thanks for sharing your thoughts. =) Lots of people aren't willing to give Ariel a chance b/c of her looks, or worse, because they don't think she has the talent to portray Rong'er ("too cutesy"...whatever =P). Similar criticism for HuGe, to a lesser extent. So I'm happy there are some who recognize their ability and won't just judge them on their "image." Anyway, I believe they'll do well.^^ I've heard it's not very close to the novel, too; guess we'll see how it turns out. =D

That's a matter of opinion. Still, your evaluations are pretty superficial. Ariel, for instance, is both intelligent and talented in real life, and although you might not think of her as pretty, there are many who would disagree. Also, their appearance is not an indicator of acting skill, and I beg to differ from your implication that because they "look like" something, they aren't fit for the role. With all due respect, I wish you'd give them a chance before judging them.

i don't care if she's pretty in real life or not. but since this IS acting, it WILL be superficial to an extent.

my comment had nothin to do w/her looks in real life. however, it had everythin to do w/the look/feel of the main female character in the series. plus, i didn't say her that acting sux (not that i like and approve it 100%).

for instance: i love to watch jim carey in comedy. but in more serious films? no.

Sad, you might miss out on a lot of good acting, then - you can't buttonhole good actors into just one stereotypical kind of role. By the way, this *is* an Ariel/Hu Ge vid (per the title). If you don't like the coupling or people in it, no need to post rude comments. This is a HuG*Yi vid, not a LOCH vid (there's a lot of TWFX in it, too). And you can always make a nice comment actually related to the MV :)

honestly, good acting's not to be found in "idol-versioned" series. like i said, some ppl r just fit to play some roles and not others. jim carrey does comedy, not horror films. stephen chow does comedy, not serious dramas. there's a reason behind all that. i do believe that my comment was related to the MV one way or another. i respect the person who made it of course. but this series' choice of actresses/actors just got me a little...iffy. btw, i didn't say anythin about the coupling.

why do you keep watching this mv if you think the actress or actor is "iffy?" Seriously, you DO know that this is a 'Hugriel' MV right? Anyhow, I believe that Hu Ge and Ariel Lin are talented. By talented, I mean they can play different types of roles from dumb to smart or vice versa. I think Ariel convincingly portrayed a dumb character and a smart character (as HR) almost close to perfection. Otherwise, some people would not have been so quick to undermine Ariel's depiction of HR.

It's not what you said necessarily (although it *is* clearly a HuG*Yi vid), but how you said it. No need to add the "yikes ew" in. Especially since the creator worked so hard on the MV and is obviously a fan of the artists :P I get what you're trying to say, though, and I still think it'll be better to wait and see how LOCH turns out instead of pre-judging. For now, though, I'm going to enjoy watching this beautiful HuG*Yi MV for the 12th time! :D
