  • As much as I am proud to be black, I beleive that we need to chasitse each other the same way Bill Cosby is chasitsing us for the self destruction that we are imposing against ourselves.

  • Hypocrite my foot. He is right! While riding the metro there are children acting a complete fool. They are blatantly disrespectful and their behavior is so vulgar it literally makes me sick. You have kids cursing like drunken sailors, fighting each other and adults. I see ppl shake their heads in disgust, or pretend they don't hear. No one ever says anything to them which is part of the reason it continues. I am 22 yrs old and if I say its ridiculous then you know it's bad! COME ON PPL !!!

  • Truth hurts. Bravo Mr. Cosby

  • What a strong, intelligent man!

  • Bill must have forgot about Fat Albert. And like Chris Rock said, it was one of the most degrading tv shows in history. Mongo Slade. I Spy. It's easy to talk that way when you are rich. but he dosent really mention why some kids are that way. Once he truly states why some black youth and adults are still having problems to this day, then anything he says really dosent matter. And the problems didnt just start in this generation. They stem from long ago. same sh$t different day.

  • does anyone know who does the beat in the back round or who it is?

  • @scottlittles some dick head playing music.

  • great Americans all colors that is what makes us great

  • Don't attack the man, listen to the message. And he is telling the complete truth!

  • As I read a few of the comments on here I’m sadden because people choose to focus on the messenger and ignore the message. I understand that some may think he’s hypocritical or his tone is too strong. However, I implore you to listen to the message that is being said and we can find a common ground and at least acknowledge that there are problems in many of our black communities that we can tackle ourselves and hopefully start if not continue to make a difference in those communities.

  • I visualize "Belle Cosby" answering her critics. I'm speaking of Phylicia Ayers Allen Rashad.

  • This is Bill Cosby doing a comedy routine,as he naturally can. He's the same way at college graduation ceremonies and when he's a guast on a talk show. Cosby is the most sophisticated black human being on Earth. He's disliked and hated by some, but very well-respected.

  • @arhuxtable Bill Cosby's dirty laundry, consist of a out of wedlock child, a son who was killed while meeting up for a date with a whore, another daugther that is a everyday druggie. So Bill needs to sit his hypocritical ass down.

  • Wedlock child? You're talking about a young woman whose kid thought Bill Cosby was the kid's father.

  • @arhuxtable Yeah, thats the one, and his son who was killed while on a tryst with a hooker, the legitimate daugther thats a addict and only God's knows what else! Yes, this is the same Bill Cosby that started out doing XXXXXX rated stand-up before he changed over to more family friendly routines. He is a fine one to speak of morals.

  • I know Bill Cosby sometimes did some adult routines. But never with profanity. He chastised a lot of foul-mouthed comedians over the years. Robin Williams,Richard Pryor,Eddie Murphy,Dennis Miller,Chris Rock,Dave Chapelle and many more.

  • @arhuxtable Evidently, you never saw the Jello-man when he first started out as a stand up, i did, and let me tell you, his routine was pretty nasty!

  • @jollysincere also Bill Cosby was in the movie with Sidney Poitier about being a gangsta hustling people dealing with Biggie Smalls, now talking about how bad Gangsta Rap is, Lol what a hypocrite.

  • @kalai131 If there is anything that just irks the living hell out of me, its hypocrisy! and Bill Cosby reeks of this. I remember seeing him in a night club act back in the early 60s, let me tell you, his routine was pure gutter, there were many people in the audience that night that were clearly uncomfortable with his lewd show. After years of trying to make it as a XXXXX rated stand-up & failing, he then changed over to this holier than thou personna. will someone show Mr. Cosby the door.

  • @jollysincere Because people can't change? And from 1960 no less?!? I think you're just lookin for something to complain about.

  • @GreasemonkeyCGI Yeah, i guess your right, i am LQQKING for something to complain about, and i hate HYPOCRISY! and Brother Bill is full of it.

  • @kalai131 cosby wasnt a gangsta in that movie he had a blue collar job

  • The only bad thing about this is that this message is not reaching the targeted audience. The horrible parents are too busy fucking shit up to attend an event like this. So this is like preaching to the choir.

  • @emptycell lol... you are exactly right its like when the parents of the good students go to parents teacher conference. The parents that need to be there are never there. Keep on Dr. Cosby keep on keeping on.

  • Black people need to pick their mouths up off the floor, and speak REAL FUCKING ENGLISH. NO, you are NOT going to land a good job speaking ghetto slang, and sagging your pants half way off your ass (which means you're GAY in prison) at a job interview. Talking about you "KEEPING IT REAL". Oh yeah!!! REAL FUCKING STUPID!!! And as for Hip Hop culture, why is it, that no one seems to notice that our worse behaviors as a people are glamorized by powerful white people?

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Most black people are hard working people who speak "real english" and don't go into job interviews speaking "ghetto slang". Also most don't walk around with their pants sagging, etc. Nice of you to perpetuate the most negative stereotypes of black people. A boot licking Tom like you would never point out all the worst stereotypes of our national embarrassment, ie, the American Redneck. Hmm, I wonder why.....stop tap dancing for your master you fucking Sambo.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 Whatever muthafucka. Truth hurts doesn't it? I'm not perpetuating a damn thing. Black folks need to quit acting so damn crazy. And rather than shut up about it, we NEED to expose that shit. You can call me all the Tom and Sambo you want. Bill Cosby has a point. We as a people need to stop adhering to the negative ghetto ass stereotypes that is a curse on an otherwise BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE. So you go ahead and take this any way you want. PEACE!! :)

  • we were once kings and queens.we need to reach out to these kids today

  • @jimmyel100 I agree.

  • As much as black people hate to hear these things Bill Cosby says, it is the honest to GOD truth. There have been days where I wish I could be another race other than black for just one day. The way some of our people act. It shouldn't even be like that. But it is. And I'm glad that Bill Cosby has the guts to bluntly speak out on it. Because all of the blacks who are pissed at him, are pissed because the shoe fits. And they have no choice but to wear it.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Your desire to be another race for even one day shows that you hate yourself and your skin and it's pathetic.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 No, I will ALWAYS love myself. And by the way, thank you for reading my ENTIRE FUCKING COMMENT. And for understanding why I'm sick of certain black folks and their GHETTO BULLSHIT! I do NOT hate the color of my skin. I DO, HOWEVER; hate the negative stereotypes that popular culture tries to force me to adhere to. I'm SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of seeing young black males sagging their pants half off their asses. looking like idiots. And hip hop culture PERIOD.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 pfff -- I read your comment to Oakl and it's clear that you simply want a community of victims. So I'll play along: You're a VICTIM dude, you've been held back by RACISM ALL YOUR LIFE. YOU ARE A VICTIM MAN, WE ALL FEEL SORRY FOR YOU. THE WORLD IS AGAINST YOU! ok now here's a kleenex.

  • @andrehendrik Any adult who who types "pfff" should kill themselves. I'm not a victim of racism, I've had a successful life despite racism. You act like there's something wrong with someone pointing out that racism actually exists and harms people. You can keep your head in the sand all you want, I really don't give a shit about your opinion. I will fight racism until the day I die and then hopefully generations after me will fight it too. Now do the world a favor and swallow a bullet.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 dude it sounds like you NEED racism to exist as your own personal excuse. Is there still bigotry? Of course. Are there still racist idiots? Always, Is it institutionalized?? No. The only institutionalized racism is reverse racism. Public jobs like fire fighters and police often lower their standards to attract minorities. Same with schools. Your energy would be better spent asking how can Afr Am's improve themselves? But you want to take the easy road. I'm done here

  • @andrehendrik I don't NEED racism as an excuse for anything, I repeat I live a successful life; U NEED to read better."Reverse-racism" is the dumbest term ever . Ur either a racist or you're not. If a black person is racist they aren't a reverse-racist, they're just a racist. Also, show me proof of fire fighters, schools, etc lowering their standards to "attract" minorities. That implies that u think minorities are somehow inferior, lol, & you wonder why I feel the way I do. Ur a dumbass.

  • @NewYorkCityUSA7 i will say in my experience alone, and i'm not african american, but a warrior in the u.s armed forces, and at that level we don't give a damn about whose a man, woman or color, just who's a warrior and warriorette, black people NCO's, Officers, enlisted, airborne, green berets, etc. were some of the most hardworking people i ever worked with, sleeping a mere 4-5 hours a day on missions and not feeling tired, the truth is always the exact opposite of the media, lol.

  • @andrehendrik Thats Right!!!! Get Em!!!! LOL!!! Give that muthafucka some "CHEESE" with his "WHINE"! LOL!!!

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 You speak truth. It takes moral courage to do that, especially on this combustible topic.

  • @takfam07 And especially since I've caught a little bit of hell from an individual on youtube. But that changes NOTHING. These things need to be said. And Bill Cosby has a lot of courage, to speak out against the madness going on in our black communities. And rather than placate the belligerent and often ignorant blacks who indulge in the ignorance, we need to fight it. Even if it pisses them off. And do whats right.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 You are so right. If you are black, it takes extraordinary courage to truthfully address your own people to change their hearts, minds and actions for the better. But keep the faith. It's the only way forward.

  • @takfam07 AMEN! And thank you for the encouragement. There is a culture out there, that actually GLAMORIZES the ugliness of the ghetto. Why, because its PROFITABLE. THAT is a REAL PROBLEM. And then I hear this OXY-MORON statement called "GHETTO FABULOUS". Excuse me, but WHAT THE FUCK IS SO FABULOUS ABOUT THE GHETTO? And the answer is: (Drum roll>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> !) NOT A DAMN THING!!!!!!!! Poverty, crime, and the overall sense of hopelessness. Nothing fabulous about that AT ALL!!

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1

I think the problem someone like myself (college education, corporate worker, etc) has is that the actual intent of Mr. Cosby's narrative gets distorted and misused by bigots who just love to jump behind someone of color to justify their line of thinking. Bill Cosby became an unwitting mouthpiece for racists/bigots in America who think ill of ALL black people, not just those in 'the ghetto'. That's the real shame of the very valid points made by Cosby.

  • @cbaldwinjr That's a good point. But as for the ignorant bigots you mention above, trust me, they don't really need any bandwagon to jump on ( Bill Cosby or otherwise ) to justify acting the way they do. But I do see your point. But I'm thankful for black people that truly represent the beauty of our culture. Intelligent black people like YOU. Blacks in general ( IN MY OPINION ) are the most beautiful people, and also the most mimicked. But seem to also carry real profound baggage.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 You're welcome. Unfortunately you're right, the ghetto/gangsta culture is being marketed as shock value entertainment to the world. Something is definitely not right about that. But today it takes just as much courage to think like you do, as it did being a civil rights marcher in the '60s. If 80% of blacks thought like you, the problems would largely disappear. Hope you continue making a positive impact.

  • @takfam07 I'm surely going to try. My strategy, is simple. At least 15 years ago, I made a SOLEMN VOW to be a positive influence on every child that comes into my presence. ESPECIALLY BLACK CHILDREN. And our girls are definitely what I focus on. Too few black girls are told that they are somebody special, that they matter in this world, or just loved in general. I'm the same way with boys, but girls have it harder. Especially since hip-hop culture degrades them. Making them grow up way too fast.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 you couldn't said it better.....glamorization of ghetto at the beginning(15 yrs ago ?) was of hippie culture in 60's - romatic idea of "underdog", counter revolutionary social ideal types with real messages. It's cool for a little while but it went too far and too long without any actions and even romantic, idealistic elements are long gone; It's just ugly elements left exposing the worst of the society in existance.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1

White guy here so take what I say how ever you will..

You shouldn't wish to not be black. It's like Bill Cosby said, a man from Nigeria lands into the US and goes to college.

So it has nothing to do with black.. or whatever. It has to do with American Black..

And sad to say.. most of those act like animals.

    But I don't know why.

  • @HeartboundStudios Well, you kinda prooved my point. You're right, IT IS sad that many blacks in America insist on acting like animals, and if THATS not bad enough, they want to convey the message to the rest of the world that this is normal behavior of ALL black people. In the words of Bill Cosby, "TRYING TO MAKE ABNORMAL BEHAVIOR, NORMAL, AND THATS INSANE". And when you have lived in an environment full of these people, YOU WANT TO GET OUT. And I got out, thankfully.

  • @HeartboundStudios

I don't think you should have any opinion on this matter at all. As a matter of fact, I choose to throw away your opinion and really I can say that YOU are a part of the problem.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 I believe Bill Cosby is right . I think the Forum in which he choose to express his opinion was wrong and also I don't think he came up with any real tangible solutions. We all know that a lot of our people are trifflin . It starts at home. Its starts with some of these professional people coming back to the hoods becoming mentors. Get them before this counter intuitive culture gets to them. That is one solution to irradiating this problem.

  • @TerrorTown7575 Why do you feel the forum he chose to express his opinion, was wrong? That was very interesting what you said.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 I think he went straight to the main stream media. He could have went to Tavis Smiley, or he could have went to the radio. I think going to the main stream media the same media who marginalize black people regardless of the topic didn't was a solution to this problem. We all now this happens . We have to find some solutions.

  • @TerrorTown7575 So its not what he said, its WHERE he said it. Right? But wait, didn't he already go to the other people you feel he should have gone to? Because I'm ALMOST sertain he appeared on the Tavis Smiley show, on the same subject matter. Hit me back.

  • Bill speaks the truth.

  • Bill Cosby is the best.
