  • i remeber that the first scene the smoked covered up the sun my cousins were over my mom came home earlier and we went to other cousins house when we headed back it was all good i wasn't scared at that time but now i am like OMG FIRE!!!!!!

  • some of theses pictures werent even from the san diego fires they were the la fires. 2007 was bad but 2003 was worst.

  • this was the one time i didnt want to live in san diego. Im glad they are over but it will probley happen again.

  • :'(

  • i feel very sorry and i hoped they made it out i hate wildfires i hoped they lived

  • you know a lot of these fire pictures weren't of the fires in San dingo.

  • I take it she didn't have that much time to get out of the way of the fire, if she left her birds beside. in 2007 i was at the fires, I didn't get to the fire in tell i knew my friends and my girlfriend at the time was save. Then the chopper picked me up at school near by.

  • i have a friend that has lost her 3 beautiful 3 storie house and all 32 finches... and 3 parrots... and everything was in ashes accept all that was standing was the chimney.. very though for every1 and i also saw larry himmels house in ashes as well... i will never forget that day i had to evacuate...

  • Yeah I live in SD and I remember this and the ones in 2003 too that happened like almost on the same day in October which was really weird.I was crying because I just saw the city I love getting burned up and also my dad was driving around in these fires for work.

  • ya my house was like less than a mile from the huge fires when we were tracking it on the internet from the place in arizona we were staying but then the internet went down soo when we came back out house was halfway burned down. it was hell.

  • i live in San Diego and some of my friends that have lost their homes in the fires still dont have their homes built yet and Oct. is right around the corner and ppl are kinda getting uneasy... cross our fingers San Diego and hope that things will be different!

  • i love the music that you choose for your video. I am sorry if you lost anything to the fires. I couldnt imagine being trapped in a wildfire. God continue to protect you and yours in the future. Amen

  • San Diego is the best but when it comes to october theres a chance of sana ana winds which creates fires. Im sorry for the people that passed away and lost their homes. I wish u guys the best

  • That one guy who died I know who he is

  • this is so sad!!

  • i love you san diego...

  • a teacher at my school died

  • the fire was behind my house. i want to thank the firefighters for saving my house, they were parked in my driveway and in my backyard fighting the fire in the North Ciunty area, Rancho Benardo got it worse though. im so sorry for anyone that lost a family member or friend.

  • My mom, dad, older brother, and older sister died during that. I now live my step-dad.... One of the firefighters (a friend of the whole family) said my mom and dad died holding eachother... Thank you guys so much for helping stop the fire... I thank you all so much...

  • a teacher from my school died from it. I live in escondido. i was so scared. we had a whole bunch of family who came to my house because we were not evacueated. in the morning it was pitch black at my sisters apartment.

  • My husband was covering behind the engines that went on to the fires. (He's also Cal Fire for Riverside Co. about 8 yrs now.) He didn't come home for 2 wks. Thank you for appreciating them.

  • the song is by onerepublic i dont the name but i think its stop and stare

  • ausome video and what song is that?

  • I live here and I'm proud of it, too. THANK YOU CDF, SDFD, AND EVERYBODY ELSE INVOLVED!!! YOUR HEROIC EFFORTS WON'T BE FORGOTTEN!!!!

  • what song is this?

  • my boyfriend was down there from day one rescuing peoples homes and lives, he has been a CDF firefighter for 8 years and said he has never seen ANYTHING like this. I am so sorry for the loss of your homes and lives as u know them. i couldnt imagine. God bless you all. you are in our prayers around the country.

  • I'm CDF myself. Is he with San Diego Unit?

  • =,[ scary my house burned down now i live in a different area. so sad it made me cry i miss my old life my school my friends...

hope all of ya is safe especialy you:/

  • I am so sorry for your loss, I know that sounds like something people just say cause they feel like they have to but, I mean it. I also know that while it might not feel like it now, life will go on. You can just be thankful for the fact you are alive when some people weren't that lucky.

  • DUDE that first picture you should get an award if you took that. Very orignal

  • richyrich187666 UR A FAG!! yes some people did die....u think that people would survive INSIDE A HOUSE THAT IS ON FIRE??????????????

  • richyrich187666 UR A FAG!! yes some people did die....u think that people would survive INSIDE A HOUSE THAT IS ON FIRE??????????????

  • I love how richyrich187666 says "Nobody Really Died", and than he goes on to say two old people died. Richy, you are a disgrace to San Diego.

  • NODODY REALLY DIED! I know cause im from SD! There were old couple that stayed in there house while it burned down cause they didnt want to leave! Thats about it!

  • Nodody died?!? :'(

    I'm gonna miss that guy...

  • RichyRich, If you read the article about the couple who were TRAPPED IN THEIR HOME, you will know that they tried to escape but the winds were 100MPH and they burned alive near their garage. An incredibly tragic and frightening real life nightmare. If they were your parents, I'm sure you wouldn't say "that's about it!". What a terrible thing to say. There were others who died as well. Let us all send ONLY comfort and compassion to those who have TRULY suffered during this disaster.

  • Yeah, I believe a total of 16 people died from all of the 07 wildfires, several of which were somewhat indirectly related (very old people having health problems being moved from hospitals).

  • To be honest, with the speed that the Witch Creek fire moved, and the timing of that speed (from Ramona through San Pascual and Rancho Bernardo between 2-5am therabouts), it amazes me that the total was that low. I have to assume all the evacuation personnel (rev 911 callers + field police/sheriff dept) really did an oustanding job.

  • reverse 911 calls did work but they were fucking up at the same time...they would either call the wrong area OR not call an area that was under mandatory evacuation...

its was so bad, this was the worst ever and it put a lot of people including myself through hell

  • my heart and prayers go out to you and the people who have lost loved ones in the fires and all there belongs that have gone up in flames. My God bless you.

  • Wow that was amazing...we live in o'side and took in a family that had nowhere to stay. Their home was destroyed, all personal belongings, they were in teaars. But the smile on their face, the way you could tell they loved us for helping them just made this trajedy a lot more comforting. San Diego cares and it's reflected by everyone who helped us get through this. Thank you all!

  • The Fire Fighters did a Tremendous Job!

    The Policitians were Absolutely Awesome!

Nothing wrong can be found as Arnold said so eloquently!

    Californians are the best peoples!

My heart and my prayers go out to the victims of the Crazy Wild Fires.

I am glad they had the greatest minds on the job to see so many evacuated and so many homes destroyed.

As president Bush would say. "Great Job"

  • damn, you did a good job with this vid. i live in palm desert(palm springs area)... i can smell the smoke out here, it blocks the surrounding mountains, i can barely see em, and have ash on my car in the mornings. i can only imagine what it's like for you guys over there, i really feel for yall. keep your heads up n stay strong, everything's gonna work out

  • Sucks lol, me and my family were going to be going to San Diego next year.

  • I live in Michigan and the only forests are in the metro parks. But I live in a Suburb part. MI has lots of natural forest up north.

  • Awesome post - thank you! We are on the edge of RB & Escondido - you have to be here to see how sad and bad this is...great compilation - great work...great way to put the word out there...

  • What an incredible visual way of speaking to us all about the truth of this tragedy. We must all band together and do something, each one of us, to help with the inevidible need for hope, repair, and restoration that is before us.

  • Very Nice job in spite of the sadness. I haven't seen alot of these pictures, they really tell the story. Thank you for sharing them.

    J

  • its so sad =(

  • i never watch the news so i was behind on hearing about the fires. these are the first pictures and videos i have seen about the fires and it is very i eye opening. my prayer are with the families and firefighters who are going through this.

  • whats the song that starts at 2:15

  • its by OneRepublic and its called Mercy

  • @kakashevaric moi je sui pompier en france et je ne fais les meme feu que vous vous il sont beau vaut feu

  • This is a life changing disaster for thousands and something we can all learn from. Tragedy brings out either the best in people or the worst. In San Diego there has been a lot of pulling together. So, let's all just keep positive and keep helping one another out. And, yes, pray for the brave firefighters - and thank them when you see them.

  • thats not a san diego fire.... and here in san diego, all they are covering is the san diego fires. you should know that if your in s.d.

  • what the hell are u talking about all this shit and info is from the sd fires

  • ya i know. ive seen it all... i was saying that the S.D. fires are not arson. the orange county and the Riverside fires are the ones that are suspected as arson. i never said this stuff ISNT from the sd fires, i live by RB and Poway. i nearly lost my home in both this fire and the Cedar Fire so ya, i KNOW this is in S.D. but i was commenting about the idiot who said the SD fires are arson which they arent

  • haha oh yeah sorry

yeah when he said it was by arson i was like wtf are u kidding.

    yeah it sucks

everything and everyone losing there houses

  • this is a terrible terrible thing...god bless san diego

  • how do you know it was arson? it started in Julian, but i dont think it was confirmed to be arson. my uncle is part of the fire department in Julian and he said it wasnt arson.

  • Ive heard media claim at least some of the fires were arson. The funny thing is that they described the "profile" of a potential suspect as "single white male"... RUN!!

  • none of the san diego fires are arson. the one in Malibu is the one they suspect as arson....

  • wrong, that one was a downed power line. the ORANGE COUNTY fire was caused by arson.

  • Amazing!! ****

  • thats sad
