Receiving my GoPro Wide angle on Thursday. I was heavily contemplating getting the HD model, but your video's look amazing so I don't think I'll be unsatisfied. What size SD card to you recommend cause I heard the firmware made support for 8GB.
Hi buddy did you just use movie maker to edit the videos ? many thanks i have just brought one if you look at my vids seems a ok camera .. lithium batteries seem to go in around 2 hours . I just want the best quailty to go onto youtube any advice tips . ( i know its been a while since you had one) cheers Lee
Hey, im looking at getting this exact camera for my snowmobile, snowboarding and mountain biking. is the quality any better with these videos off youtube? the quality seems great though for the non-hd because i cant justify paying $100 more. i read below you dont have this anymore but what were the pros/cons of this camera and what made you not buy another one? Thanks man
@cstmx156 It's a great camera, and from what I've read and seen about the newer GoPro's (HD), they're even better. I didn't buy another one though cause the ContourHD made a far better helmet camera than the GoPro,
awesome. Thats great how you have full leathers. Would you mid telling me what ones the yare and how much they were and were you got them from? Thanks alot.
Hi, you seem good at answering the comments on your vids so, i'd like to know what format the video files save as and have you had any issues regarding wind noise? your video here seems pretty good regarding wind, wind seems to be the biggest issue when recording motorsport. Thanks
I no longer have this camera, as it broke after I highsided. I now have a ContourHD, which in my opinion is better. To answer your question though, I saved them as .wmv, and if you are going to use this camera, don't worry about wind noise. One of its perks is that it's great at buffering wind noise.
What I like most is the tail mounting camera facing my back. It will show your moves plus the background. Issues like camera facing the sunlight and night shots are the critical one other that the camera is worth the money.
Other than it's boxy size, nope, I had no issues with it. it doesn't come with editing software, but Windows Movie Maker is more than adequate in my opinion.
nice video. i just got my gopro hero wide. in the angle facing your throttle, did you use the suction cup mount? if so, were there any issues with it staying stuck on a slightly curved surface?
Yes, I used the suction cup mount for that angle, as well as the tail shot. I've seen a lot of people complain about the suction cup mount not adhering, but I think it's simply because of improper use. It's not enough to just press it on a surface, you gotta lock it too. When I used the suction cup mount for the front and rear shot, I wheelie'd the bike and slammed it a tad and it stayed on.
Great to hear! I tried sticking the cup onto my right headlight and it stuck on good even over the really crappy streets we have here. I uploaded the vid if you care to check it out. :) Going to try a shot from the side cowl next.
I don't have the GoPro anymore as it was mounted on my helmet when I highsided back in April. I've since picked up a ContourHD and look to test it out at my next trackday. :)
love that track dude...such a sweet ass song...good ole DJ Shadow. I'm going to need to get one of these cams for races and track days...get the classic motoGP ish butt shot haha
nice vid, is their a difference between the GoPro Motorsports Hero our the GoPro Motorsports Hero wide. our is it just the same. can't find different types in the Dutch stores.
I was also wondering what the soundtrack is :). chill song
I had one of these gopro herocam wide models. Excellent camera but be warned I had it mounted on the rear of the bike looking forward like you had at the start, I tucked in behind the windscreen at around 140 and the sudden down draft took the camera and mount off the bike. Other bikes behind me saw it bounce along the tarmac and into the scenery. We spent two hours looking for it untill it got dark :( Be warned the suction mount is good but duct tape of similar is recommended by me!
alright dude, im sold after seeing this...how many did you buy, 3 (2 reg and one helmet)? ive been using a high end samsung flash based HD camcorder (sc-hmx10c)
consider it on craigslist.
this setup is perfect! i love how they mostly deal with all the wind
jesus dude, with the way the video is edited i would swear it was 3 diff cameras...holy hell! this thing is amazing! that pretty much makes you a filming genius the way you put this video together!
are you using the suction mounts for all the recordings?
Naglfar65 1 year ago
@Naglfar65 This video was from a long time ago, but yes, with the exception of the helmet-cam POV, I used the suction cup on the bike.
