That looks great! It seems like a LOT of work though. Hey how did you get the design for the cabinet wall at 1:57? Because I might be getting a cabinet and it doesn't have the design that it should on the side, and I was just wondering if there's any way to get the design up myself. Please answer!
very nice but your missing actual dimensions. Unless i somehow missed them. Anyone wanting to build this i would suggest going out and measuring a cabinet for yourself. I am a carpenter and i recognize this is not easy and anyone who says it is, is full of it. even the hardware/fastening patterns are missing. If you can do this with ease i hope your making 35 an hr or more =p Other than that, great job.
i looked in the site that you mentioned, but i do not found, the old joysticky, like yours, with a ball, just the normal joysticky, where did u buy yours?
it's just a standard sanwa joystick and a sanwa bubble top which is sold seperately from most shops. uh if you're in the us try lizardlick, if you're in EU try gremlin solutions, l2 google.

Im buying an arcade the weekend with 1000 games on it the only problem it seems to have is when you turn it on it takes about 3-4 minutes to power up.I know this is some kind of fault but what exactly and how much to pur right? Also the volume is very low,how do i alter that?
@gerpir yea you can bro thats only if your using the old 80's boards but if u have a pc inside running an emulator than you can but i get were ur comming from it makes it fell more authentic with old crt screens ;D
What is the angle on the panel the joysticks and buttons are on? I have seem some perfectly flat some with a decreased angle not sure which is best and what that angle is.
I'm about to start building my own cabinet I've been wondering, why trackball? Wouldn't touchpad be much better or is it also for specific games that uses trackball?
It really is ridiculously easy to have an arcade machine. Well it was, now lumber costs a bit more. But get urself some sheets of plywood, (mid good stuff) Shape the box, and the rest is just slapping the pc in their and placing the audio. The board is a bit expensive but what ya gonna do. 2 player is the standard, 4 player is attainable but ur gonna pay a bit more cash.
Could build ur own but thats to much of a pain in the ass for me. I went with a hotrod board.
One day i will do this... ONE DAY!!! But for now i'm broke, lazy, and most importantly i don't have room in my tiny room. And my mom would never want one of these in the living room haha
Your video inspires me further in making my own cabinet. Buy one from a random seaside town isn't really an option for me, as I wouldn't know where to start here in Australia. It makes me happy to see it IS possible to make a decent-looking cab. Thanks for the upload!
that is really 1 nice mame cabinet. I have watched this over and over and it amazes me how high the quality of this is. i know how you could make these for about 90 dollars
step 1 build a wood frame of the machine
step 2 get a NES and and a copy of something that was in the arcades (pacman)
step 3 get a medium size TV and make it the screen at a slight angle
step 4 hook up the nintendo and angle the TV slightly
step 5 get an NES Advantage and put it where the controls would be
Step 6 turn on the nintendo with your game cart in it
now you have your own arcade machine

Nice, Very neat build! I've still got to build mine, I've got the PC, controls (x arcade - until I'm confident enough to make my own!)and speakers & monitor, the only problem is I & my friends cant stop having mini tournaments on SFIII!
