  • Awesome man..I want to build one!!

  • Too bad your website is in danish.. :(

  • makes me miss the 30's

  • I'd sell my soul for such an arcade machine

  • that is badass... I am going to try to make one.

  • I'm going to build a garage arcade!

  • Well done.

  • Makes me miss the 70's

  • @pearlmax Makes me miss the 60s.

  • That looks great! It seems like a LOT of work though. Hey how did you get the design for the cabinet wall at 1:57? Because I might be getting a cabinet and it doesn't have the design that it should on the side, and I was just wondering if there's any way to get the design up myself. Please answer!

  • Why won't the video play on an iPad?

  • im gonna build one when i get a new computer when my friends come they would most likely stay the so we could play some marvel vs capcom!

  • It even got PIONEER Mids haha Coo shit i love this!

  • @Doctordr00g If you built it they will come. It all depends where you place the arcade and if the community accepts it.

  • my cabinet is most awesom !

  • nice! One of the best I've seen.

  • very nice but your missing actual dimensions. Unless i somehow missed them. Anyone wanting to build this i would suggest going out and measuring a cabinet for yourself. I am a carpenter and i recognize this is not easy and anyone who says it is, is full of it. even the hardware/fastening patterns are missing. If you can do this with ease i hope your making 35 an hr or more =p Other than that, great job.

  • I want to know where to purchase arcade cab artwork for marquee and side panel.

  • That's one sexy cab!

  • and please, tell me where can i found, the this graphic to print, thanks!

  • i looked in the site that you mentioned, but i do not found, the old joysticky, like yours, with a ball, just the normal joysticky, where did u buy yours?

  • @rickyarte

it's just a standard sanwa joystick and a sanwa bubble top which is sold seperately from most shops. uh if you're in the us try lizardlick, if you're in EU try gremlin solutions, l2 google.

  • I don't think I have the Carpentry skills to build an arcade.=-( I'm hoping to find an arcade somewhere for sale, and rebuild it =-)

  • Sweet cabinet, bro. Beautiful work.

  • Sweet cabinet, bro. Beautiful work.

  • I'm building a mame cab right now. Please could you tell me where you got the artwork from.

  • please tell where can i find this type of joystick, like vintage

  • @rickyarte There are tons of arcade sticks for PC. Try the X-Arcade Tank Stick.

  • Respect for this arcade cabinet :D

  • Im buying an arcade the weekend with 1000 games on it the only problem it seems to have is when you turn it on it takes about 3-4 minutes to power up.I know this is some kind of fault but what exactly and how much to pur right? Also the volume is very low,how do i alter that?

    Thanks.

  • I wish you could buy one online, but it would cost a bitch.

So you gotta not suck at building.

  • jenial amigo

  • o man is that LCD inside ? If yes you doing it wrong ... you cant do this with LCD!!!

  • @gerpir yea you can bro thats only if your using the old 80's boards but if u have a pc inside running an emulator than you can but i get were ur comming from it makes it fell more authentic with old crt screens ;D

  • What is the angle on the panel the joysticks and buttons are on? I have seem some perfectly flat some with a decreased angle not sure which is best and what that angle is.

  • Wow! This is bloody brilliant! I'd be proud to have one in my living room! :D

  • Very nice. I made a bar-top arcade with MAME.

  • I'm about to start building my own cabinet I've been wondering, why trackball? Wouldn't touchpad be much better or is it also for specific games that uses trackball?

  • It really is ridiculously easy to have an arcade machine. Well it was, now lumber costs a bit more. But get urself some sheets of plywood, (mid good stuff) Shape the box, and the rest is just slapping the pc in their and placing the audio. The board is a bit expensive but what ya gonna do. 2 player is the standard, 4 player is attainable but ur gonna pay a bit more cash.

Could build ur own but thats to much of a pain in the ass for me. I went with a hotrod board.

  • @PurePwnge991 t moulding

  • One day i will do this... ONE DAY!!! But for now i'm broke, lazy, and most importantly i don't have room in my tiny room. And my mom would never want one of these in the living room haha

  • What Front-end did you use?

  • My dream bro! my dream

  • @PurePwnge991 T-Moulding?

  • Your video inspires me further in making my own cabinet. Buy one from a random seaside town isn't really an option for me, as I wouldn't know where to start here in Australia. It makes me happy to see it IS possible to make a decent-looking cab. Thanks for the upload!

  • /watch?v=CkF_2e2NJUg

  • I got a Killer Instinct cabinet at an arcade near my house (one of those theatre jobs) for $50.

  • Building a cab right now. No mame though, strictly Genesis, boots to kgen98 in dos.

  • that is really 1 nice mame cabinet. I have watched this over and over and it amazes me how high the quality of this is. I am thinking of buying some cheep wood and putting my 19in monitor in and an xarcade joystick with some newish (dual core windows 7 3gb ddr3 and integrated nvidia chipset) cheap compaq computer I bought and build my own mame cabinet. would never look this good though :P

  • Question for you video game pros.

Is there a game like "grand theft auto 1" on mame?

  • @S0LlDF0X there shouldn't be. the first grand theft auto came out on pc. i remember playing it :-)

  • @YoungDaddyTC27 shit thanks man less time wasted for me guess imma have to play some more metal slug 3

  • bellom ma lo schermo è troppo piccolo

  • nice... but it looks to high-tech for something like a arcade... still a great job i must tell

  • Check out how the pro's do it:

    w w w DreamHomeArcades c o m

  • where can i get the decals. i want them for pac-man. can u tell me please

  • MAME TOP 115 in my channel !!!

  • It's kinda cool but if you just welded a stand together for the dual X arcade stick then built a computer with an HDMI port you could play it on your HD TV.

  • Very nice to see an arcade cabinet with Double Dragon on the screen, its something you just dont see anymore, ah the happy memories. Im going to biuld one because i need to see an arcade machine every morning so im prepared for the day ahead.

  • How much did this end up costing?

  • it not easy to do it for everyone !

  • Makes me miss the 90's

  • @CapumOfOuttaSpace ...makes me miss the 80's lol

  • @CapumOfOuttaSpace 90's? shoot makes me miss the 80's

  • Awesome. Enjoy playing it twice a year.

  • Song name?? The info on the video is wrong, please can you tell me the song?

  • Man, that is beautiful! *wipes away tear*

  • i am going to order a mame cabinet off ebay it has a lcd screen installed into it and its a computer :D ill just put a load of games on there and custom design the cabinet

  • Currently im working on arcade cab for my special display nes that can hold 10 games in the one machine

  • That's super tight....

  • Can you develop a ddr cabinet for under 100 bucks? not including the dance pads

  • @markenyou

    hell no.

The cabinet alone will be 400 dollars

  • @markenyou yes easily pc 4 50$ screen 4 free and u could get lumber 4 cheap

  • The idea of one of these things is cool, but realistically who wants to stand up to play games? I sure don't.

  • @t1ngley Bar stool to go with it ftw?

  • I saw the orange cabinet at the intro being sold right before my eyes on QXL :S wish i had my own cabinet :(

  • they can cost bout £600-£800 cant they?

  • @PhilipsLS1300

    if that is 400-900+ dollars..

    yes yes they can.

  • can i have the mesurments please like the hight and lenght

  • Does painting the x-arcade joysticks void the warrenty?

  • What music is this? i wish it dident cut out like that

  • @Tarrdica Mika-Grace Kelly

  • Suuuweet Cabinet! How did you do the graphics? They look amazing!

  • What! About the Keyboard the Dip Switches, Service Mode, input Controller Joystick Game Set Up or etc. i so Test Play the Game only the Keyboard the Game Options Set Up inputs This not Play the Use Keyboard Computer Please!

  • Sweet work, minor complaint is that i don't get what you've done in some pics.

Still, you've did a seriously great job!

  • anyone want a download for any snes or nes? just reply, no bullshit!

  • beautiful ,now i know what to do with my obsolet computer.

    thank you!

  • Wow, top notch work.

  • Perfect Arcade !

    10/10

  • nice artwork

  • What joystick did you use? I have an x arcade tankstick, but would love to get another with the smaller pac man type joystick for 4 way gaming!

  • i love it!

  • what emulator do you use ?

  • i want to try this with my computer, and ps3 arcade sticks, but my computer messed up i reinstalled the disc it came with and now its asking me for my authentic code crap, but i already used it:(

  • someone left a metal slug arcade machine by the garbage ciz its screen was busted. it turns on and plays the game and lights up just no visual. cant wait to replace the screen. i was lucky cuz the coin door was left open so they could empty the quarter box

  • how did u do the cardbord box

  • What type of monitor are you using there? I notice there's no flicker from the camera.

  • 19" lcd, saw that at his site... Awesome machine, looks fantastic, if only it had a crt monitor...

  • I like the video a lot it was very informative, i also wanted know what the music song is from cause i love the beat so much from that video of your's. I personally wish i had my own arcade center someday, then i wouldn't have to buy games so often to keep me busy as much.

  • this is such a wonderfully sleek and compact design, looking forward to making one like this myself :)

  • I missed the how to part. Where's that? How does this have 5 stars?! It's a friggin slideshow not a how to video!

  • I guess you didn't finish the video to his URL where he tells you hoe to do it. It's just a summary of how to built the cabinet. I understood the steps, though... put wood put together, apply a finish, put in controls, speakers, monitor, etc.

Some people have productive hobbies and some people bash hard work on youtube.

  • A link isn't a how to video but no i didn't watch it. I don't plan on doing this. I'm just interested in watching people make these. Why i don't know.

  • @DTownzz u spell bad

  • Excellent !!!

  • Nice side art. Custom made?

  • awesome stuff, wish I had those kinda skills. I cheated with a console and x-arcade 2p

  • Awesome

    5/5

  • are Sanwa buttons wired the same way as the buttons you used?

  • Yes, using the X-arcade interface. I recommend the Ultimarc Minipac USB though, thats much easier and cheaper.

  • thank you very much!

  • Man i am definetely going to make this! One question though if someone could help me, i understand everything but how would the joysticks and buttons etc connect up with the computer, keyboard or whatever? Help would be great thanks! :D

  • Yeah very nice and clean work! I like the artworks and it's all well done!

I would put a crt dispaly like a big television instead of a lcd screen due to the closest arcade response of crt system, but your work remains wonderfull!

  • that is aweome.. i could'nt image how long that all took... what song was that please ?

  • im curious what did you use for paint?

  • looks like youve learned all the fun of building the whole thing is in the control panel! i love wiring it up.. im building a 4 player mame machine and ive revised my wiring a couple times already, haha.. these look good though!

  • Very Not Bad!

  • Ummm, how is this video supposed to help someone know how to build a MAME cab? Wiring, parts, etc? I kinda think the title is misleading.

  • check out his website. it has all the plans and everything you need to know how to build the cab.

  • Did you ever think to.. oh I don't know.. click the link in the description? Nyuk-Nyuk.

  • Forget it

    $1400 in Denmark.

Dude, more respect to you. +++

  • We live in a expensive country :P

  • How much did it cost you? Where do you live? Great job! Kudos!

  • sanwa JLW, gross, i think i might throw up

  • WOW THIS lOOKS SO EASY(not)

  • man that cab is clean. also where did you get your artwork?

  • Awesome! :)

  • WAIT question..

what about for racing games for arcade. whats its specs? help

  • I'd love to have free computer(pretty bad one, well not too good, not too bad, but pretty cheap) and some materials for it. I defenetly would do it. I mean that can't be too hard, except for buttons and joy pad.

  • Very impressive, man - and what a great idea!

  • how much does a cab like this weigh ? I'm looking into doing something like this. But I want to make it as light weight as possible.

  • Probably the best MAME cabinet in the world!

We are building one too reusing a lot of your design (btw thank you for the autocad files!) although we have expanded it a bit to get room for a CRT

We will finish it this weekend.

  • this song makes me want to party

  • Yeah, but I wonder how you would hook up emulators from PC? Or your own fighting game made up with Mugen?

  • I have a couple questions. How far away is each button from eachother? What gauge wire did you use?

  • ONe of the best builds ive seen so far, awsome job

  • excellent, elegant and simple my inspiration to build one.Great job!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Whats the name of the song in this video?

  • ill buy one off of you with no monitor or cpu parts just cabinet and control panel

  • jsut go to any seaside town where there was loads off arcades. look at the back and youl probs see 1 or 2 fucked up cabs. offer the guy some cash to take it off his hand so he can replace it with another gambler. i went to south shileds and saw a few standup cabs. GLOC with joystick, bubble bobble, couldve been multi PCB and load of sit down ones all wiht messed up screens and he would have got rid of them for next to nofn

  • That looks awesome, very professional.

  • i really like the cabinet.

i actually prefered it with without all the orange logo's and stuff. was much nicer when it was all black with the defender header. im thinking of getting the x arcade controller also and swapping the joystick out and modding the box itself. i'll then make the cabinet to house the x arcade perfectly, hex shaped front and all. looking to do this next month. hopefully.

    nice work though dude :)

  • by running different emulators on the pc it's possible to play virtually any arcade game

  • Liquid explosion

  • im making a sonic 2 arcade cabinet this summer

    !!!

  • BRILLIANT

  • wow

  • quiero unaaaa

  • I'm sad about the fact that none of those tutorials go into the software part, how to exactly install windows lightly and fix the frontend with the games.

  • There is a basic softwareguide on the homepage now.

  • It's my dream to own a mame cabinet one day.

  • @Dazsturbed Am in the middle for making a mini arcade cab for my room, sub to see a video soon.

  • did u make a coin thing like a arcade to play? so you can make money when someone come and play lol

  • damn sweet

  • and the song is ... ? :)

  • where did you get your graphics from?

  • he custom made most of it but the side art is a door poster mounted with wallpeper paste (its lion-o from thundercats btw)

  • yeah, this fucken video is a how to.

  • That has to be one of the besting looking MAME cabs Ive seen, nice work.

  • Whats the name of this song?

  • sick to the max.

  • THATS so Fucking Sicc. I like the orange coat on it. Man that is fucking hard. Im inspired to build one.

  • thank you man!

  • so awsome. I tried building one but didn't get past buying the buttons. haha

  • My favorite custom mame cabinet. Your websie was cool also

  • looks really slik, must've been really hard with wiring

  • Nice job man.. Very well done

  • Nice, Very neat build! I've still got to build mine, I've got the PC, controls (x arcade - until I'm confident enough to make my own!)and speakers & monitor, the only problem is I & my friends cant stop having mini tournaments on SFIII!

    LONG LIVE MAME!!!!!!!

  • weak i got a cabinet that is for competition

  • where is it big 87 boyee

  • Man, I wish I had a friend that can help me make that. Cool ass Cabinet though man.

  • Dude, make it yourself?

  • Lol, no thanks.

  • What is the refresh rate on that screen? It looks perfectly in sync with your video camera.

  • it's an LCD
