  • hey, can you use a headphone splitter to have a mic going into the ipod touch and also have it leading out to speakers? if its the type of speakers that you input through the headphone socket.

  • ok lol just figured out that i have scratches and careless feelings on me ipod touchie:P lol and the mic works perfect! sound quality superb! i used Fring ( appstore ) and loged into my skype account and it worked perfectly no hassle driver etc ( lol driver ) anyway jsut try it and if you dont have a iphone 3g headset, try surfing through apple's site see if they have one (prbly 20$) DAMMNN:P lol hehe peace

  • nnnnnnicccccceeee i just stole the headset from my dads case brand new still ddint open it lol so now gonna try it out WICKED VIDEO BRO! thnx a millionn!!!!!!!!!! 5/5*

  • can you use the mic for making phone calls from the ipod touch using fring an voipbuster

  • yes. this video was made when these apps weren't available

  • more of like 2 way radio

  • yeah.. but at the time of posting this video, there was no alternative

  • can you use that like on messenger, for calling. like Yahoo messenger.....or does it HAVE to be itouch to itouch, or itouch to iphone?

  • do u have to pay for the phone calling?

  • no.

  • yes you do.

You have to have an account with credit on it AFTER YOU USE YOUR TRIAL CALLS.

    Am I wrong?

  • YOu can use this new app from the app store called Fring. Its VoIP with skype.

  • What country did you get the new headphones in? I can't find them in North America yet. Any other suggestions?

  • these are not the new headphones. they are the headphones that came with the iphone.

  • can this be done on a 1st gen with iphone headphones?

  • yes

  • no this cant be done on a first gen ipod touch. this is because the first gen doesn't support (hardware-wise) mic input through the 3.5mm headset jack. however, i have heard that there are external mic modules that you can get for the 1st gen which you can connect through the dock connector. but not sure if that would work.
