This is really, in my opinion, one of the best yet underrated new wave song of the 80s. Whats worse is Ricky Gervais seems to be not proud of his accomplishments and his glorious stint with Seona Dancing. He seems so be so full of himself, but there is no doubt he is one talented fellow.
@andreboy1 if so GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WE DON'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO CRITICIZE US NEW WAVER'S AND NEW WAVE MUSIC... SO, FUCK OFF THEN!... GO LISTEN TO YOUR JUSTIN FUCKING BIEBER TYPE OF MUSIC ASSHOLE!...
Whenever I listen to this song, got a mix emotion.... I smile and sigh in remembering the happy memories I had in the 80's. Then kinda feel sad that it was done. Oh yes, this is one of those great New Wave Music.
@tonchi5444 Yeah, it was "Fade" by "Medium". Or VISE VERSA! Aggh...why would they do something as rude and conceited as that? Almost like they "knew" it was going to be a hit. If anything, it's a good song, but completely generic new wave.
OMG! Sexy much! Ricky sounds so much like Bowie and was VERY handsome back in the 80s! I am 16 years old and love Ricky as a comedian now-a-days... I came across this video while watching one of his stand up gigs and i'm glad i did cos now i just fancy the pants off of him!!! XD
It's a good thing that song only became a success after the band had already split up and without their knowledge because otherwise we probably wouldn't have Gervais' comedy, just his music.
The 80's ( and the early 90's) woud ALWAYS be the GOLDEN AGE of music, globally speaking! Bring it back PLEASE! Oh Genie in the bottle, bring it back! :)
This tune was one of the defining songs of the eighties new wave. Beautiful new music for young people. Today it's all rap with young people with their fuckin pants on the ground. There is a beat but the soul does not get a lift. Not that I don't appreciate some rap tunes.
