  • Pro-Abortion nut jobs.

  • @kevinjjfr abortion is a wonderful thing, like your parents should of seriously looked into

  • @nikel3161 Burn in hell.

  • @kevinjjfr ooooo good comeback lol

  • You know its a great show when you can see the camera vibrating

  • @nikel3161 If you've ever seen them live...

Lets just say that it was mental last week in Birmingham

  • @BCuzN yea i seen them 3 times now, epic every time

  • my favourite song of 2010 :)

  • And as a pre-emptive measure, I accept the fact that I think I'm better than everyone and am completely fine with that. That gets me through my day and making White Crosses is what gets Against Me through their day. That's all life is about.

  • Ten minutes ago I really wanted to say something in response to all of this bickering going on over a band that none of you are even in. The high and mighty, oh how they folly in their own doing. I think my favorite part is that each side thinks they're right when in fact nobody is. We can't change what is done, and the day that you all realize this is the day you'll stop wasting your emotions in type form on a youtube video for a band's song. I direct this at no one and speak for myself.

  • To continue my rant against you, and no I am not trolling, I could give a shit less if you reply. I would imagine you to smell like patchoulli, have 00 gauged ears and some face tattoos, but complain that you can't get a good job and think that the govt needs to pay for your health care and redistribute my income to you, even though I went to school, worked hard and now bust my hump at my job to make the money I do now. I used to be you. Then I grew up. Like Tom says "The Revolution Was a LIE!

  • @lolzlmao1 What a pathetic jab at someone based on your own pretentious assumptions, you cunt. Actually, I'm fairly clean cut, never had piercings, no visible tattooes, and working hard through college, you jackass. You were never me, you were always a poser jackass, and then you became even more fake when you "grew up". And now you think you're better than anyone who hasn't forgot what real rock n roll sounds like. You're pathetic. Like Tom would say "You're a spineless liberal!"

  • @couchfort only posers call other people posers...and btw. I am a ballsy libertarian, I shit on liberals. oh and folk and punk go together like oil and water... no I didn't really care for their first few albums. I fucking hated Tom's utopian commie loving lyrics, anarchy and communism go are in direct contrast of each other which is why I love the "Teenage Anarchist" lyrics, they show an intelligent artist growing out of his immature scenster ideals and embracing adulthood.

  • @lolzlmao1 One month later, the lulziest reply ever. Thanks for that, my morning is that much brighter :D

  • @lolzlmao1 wow, that was perfect, can you please post that on everyone of there videos. I hate reading what all these assholes have to say

  • @lolzlmao1

LOL at a fucking libertarian talking about "growing up"

The ideology of suburban, white, high school kids

  • @lolzlmao1 @couchfort only posers call other people posers...and btw. I am a ballsy libertarian, I shit on liberals. oh and folk and punk go together like oil and water... no I didn't really care for their first few albums. I fucking hated Tom's utopian commie loving lyrics, anarchy and communism go are in direct contrast of each other which is why I love the "Teenage Anarchist" lyrics, they show an intelligent artist growing out of his immature scenster ideals and embracing adulthood.

    word!

  • @couchfort btw Real Rock and Roll sound like the new Riverdales CD. "Tarantula" buy it. unless you're to cool.

  • Im wondering if its better communication for the new drummer.....Less trust mabey

  • when did tom start standing in the middle? lame.

  • @ssarkis1

I was wondering the same thing. Every video I've seen from this year has that switch. Doesn't really matter in the run of it but, I'd agree having the singer on stage right was a cool/unique thing compared to other bands.

  • The old albums are amazing in their own rights, and the sound of AM! is still here, it's just that now, instead of singing about booze and drugs, tom has shit to say about what's going on around him. One thing I have always loved about AM! Is no matter how different every album is, Toms words are from heart. Weather he's singing about how low he is or how he wants to smash the white crosses. It's how he feels.

  • Completely successful delivery; all conveyed exquisitely. DAMN.

  • george rebelo is the man

  • while i dislike "i was a teenage anarchist" immensely, this song is really good. not "how low" good, but good just the same.

  • Looks like the local kids have a new anthem. Good looking out, Tom.

  • @travisisbeastE

First off they shouldn't be OPENING for anyone.

    Second, especially not Silversun Pickups.

The old Tom would not have approved.

  • @BLANCOisacolor Um, just get out.

  • this is not against me want the old band, judas, searching for a former clarity take 2 please

  • Sex Piatols.No less no more.ФАКТ!!!!!

  • Every album they put out just gets better and better. Love them

  • Comment removed

  • Just saw them open for The Silversun Pickups last night, they were awesome.

  • @travisisbeastE

    YESS I WAS THERE!

  • @rszdemon Really, was The Henry Clay People good? I missed them.

  • @travisisbeastE

yeah, I heard them at the greek about 2 nights ago or so, and they were pretty good, the singer's mic wasn't checked properly, so it was kinda hard to hear them, but all in all, all 3 performances that night were great.

  • yeah it's kinda getting difficult for me to listen to them. i just miss burn.

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song.

  • lol @ everyone afraid of change. As far as I'm concirned new Against Me is great. They don't sound the same as they always have so its understandable why some people are scared but I'm loving it.

  • they rape their own music.. :-S

  • new against me is shit

  • where is CRIME and Reinventing Axl Rose? this siht blows!

  • talent is not confined to a genre. just because green day and against me dont sound punk anymore doesnt mean the suck. fucking retards.

  • Cracks me up when clueless little wimps try to get political and don't know shit about the facts. Now go write some cute little emo boy loves girl songs.

  • @yourtubesteak eat shit

  • @mastodonowns69 You are obviously just as clueless. Little groupie. Now go listen to your Fall Out Boy CDs as well.

  • I was so disapointed at the beginning when I herd the new album for the first time...Now, after like month and half of listening I really like it! White Crosses is awesome song, I Was A Teenage Anarchist too, Because Of The Shame also...and so on. Yes, it is something different and I like that change. It isnt change to better or to worst, it's just change that I like.

  • I feel like this album is a lot more professional than their other ones. I do miss the old albums like reinventing axl rose and as the eternal cowboy but hey music evolves and so do bands. The band that used to play in basements in gainesville florida is still there and they just keep on evolving and getting better.

  • @mr1234567809 perfectly said.

  • Bands change, they have their reasons... From Vivida Vis til now, every single one of their albums are amazing in their own special way. They will always be my favorite band.

  • I'll take the anthemic cocksparrer cum born in the usa springsteen styled punk over relatively shitty 'folk punk' pretty much any day, thanks. What troubles me about the new album is the chicken shit GOD references (retro krishna???) in the last song and the awful ballad 'ache with me' that really fucks up side 2.

  • I can't believe people are ready to call AM trash after one album. I stumbled across them three years ago by accident and I haven't stopped listening since. White Crosses is weak, but the title track is great. New Wave was very weak but I can't listen to Thrash Unreal without thinking of all the mistakes I'd never change for the world. Against me is among the best bands I've heard in a long time and we're reaping the benefits of their existence. Listen or don't, just shut the fuck up.

  • "We want a band that plays loud and hard ever night and doesnt care how many people are counted at the door that would travel 1 million miles and ask for nothing but a plate of food and a place to rest" _Tom Gable

This shit is not what I think of when I listen to this song. THIS IS CONTROL

Get back to your roots, quit sucking

  • this song is fucking awesome, you are all FAGS!

  • Think this is just as good as any of their eariler stuff - they still perform live with all the energy that was apparent in their first two albums - i think the band has matured quite nicely. who cares about the people who keep coming up with sell out bollocks, against me are making the music they want to make and its pretty fucking good.

  • Am I the only person who thinks the old stuff was awesome for it's raw energy, but is happy that AM is actually making good music now, and it's lucky for us that the old energy has been polished up? plus I'm inclined to love 'em even more for the way they've been kicked under the bus by their 'fans', even if it's just a few people with opinions that don't actually matter being extremely vocal...

  • @13soccer10 You are not alone.

  • white crosses kicks asses

  • I sure do miss old AM! I'll always love em.

  • I can't wait for this album to come out. Strong track. I'm a longtime fan who actually also likes New Wave. Go figure.

  • @themichaelrossi Same. We are a rare breed. Apparently writing catchier/poppier songs automatically means you want more money, and has nothing to do with...enjoying writing catchy songs. I swear, so many other Against Me! fans are the most annoying god damn children on the planet. They have no personality of their own so they base their identity on the genre of music they listen to, and it's ALL about them. No fun allowed.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • when the clash's london calling was first released,it was deemed a sell-out by a large portion of fans and critics...now it's widely seen as one of the best punk (and just ROCK) albums ever...listen to it a few times before you make a judgment on it....

  • @mommyimadeapoopy i've tried to 3 times, it just isn't the same

  • I've heard them from the beginning and its not a bad record, just boring. I loved New Wave too but these songs from this record just don't do anything for me.

  • in all fairness, this album isn't bad. the fact that it is being released by AM! is the big problem actually. This a solid pop-punk album, but I can find 5-10 bands that can make this album. AM! used to be a different breed, the kind of music that takes it to the next level and blows your mind away. Kind what I expect from every Lawrence Arms or Dillinger Four album. This is sooo disappointing, it's like having a kid that decides to go to Harvard over Stanford.

  • wow they sound fantastic live...almost exactly like recorded version

  • "We can be the bands we want to hear.

We can define our own generation."

We WERE the band we wanted to hear.

We could have defined our generation.

    And now it's over.

  • these guys rock! i learned about them when i went to billy talent concert because they opened and stuff... but these people ROCK!

  • lol all of this "whaaa whaaa it's not the saaaaame" bs

If you don't like it go listen to another band and stip shitting on my parade

I've been a fan of this band for eight years and am far as I'm concerned White Crosses and New Wave are fantastic. If this doesn't make you want to lob molotovs at some tragic building, then you're dead.

  • Anyone who says they been into Against Me! for "years" and likes New Wave and after is a fucking liar. Anyone who's actually been into them for years is fucking pissed at this cutesy pop shit. I don't expect a band to stay the same forever, but even Searching For A Former Clarity still had the AM! attitude. This is just bullshit.

  • @couchfort chill man, people can have their own tastes. whats so bad about a band progressing into a different style? people can like the old and new, i know i do. its cool that you dont like the album, its not cool to call people "fucking liars" because their tastes are different.

  • There is a HUGE difference between a band "progressing" into a new sound and just straight up becoming a completely different band. The liars are the fans who came in AFTER New Wave and for some bizarre reason feel compelled to act like they've been into Against Me! the last 5 or 6 years. Bullshit. 5 or 6 years ago, those kids wouldn't have even batted an eye at AM! because they weren't another trendy watered down puss rock band, they were the loudest, rawest thing you'd ever heard.

  • @couchfort Fuck yeah bro, tell it like it is. And this is one of the 'better' songs on the album! Damn. I despair. White Crosses eh? I want to smash them all alright. I want to pile up every single copy of this fuck awful album and smash them to fucking bits.

  • @Fumbles16 Anyone who's REALLY been listening the last 5 or 6 years is pissed off that AM! lost their edge to appeal to scenester douchebags. I love bands who are willing to push in new directions, but this is just becoming a parody of everything they were against

  • @couchfort you don't speak for everyone, and like I said, I've been listening to them since the start and love the new stuff just the same. So what if its not exactly the same as everything else they've done? Nobody wants to hear the same old stuff all the time.

  • @Fumbles16 Since the start of what? New Wave. Its okay to admit thats when you came in. I seriously don't get why the new fans feel like they need to pretend they've been fans forever.

And you're clearly not getting the point. At all. I never said I wanted it exactly the same. Every album pre NW is different but still has a very raw edge. After NW, the edge was gone. And THATS what pisses off the old fans. Do you need a diagram?

  • @couchfort now you're just being ignorant and arrogant. i'm not wasting anymore time arguing with someone like you. Btw don't tell me when I started listening to them, I've been there from the start.

  • @Fumbles16 Translation: I have too much pride to admit I'm wrong.

Oh I believe you, from the start... of New Wave. I know :P

  • @couchfort

Geez you are a pretentious ass. You sound like me several years ago when Screeching Weasel came out with Emo... I guarantee you if New Wave hadn't been on Sire and the band hadn't gotten alot of attention from Rolling Stone you wouldn't be whining as much. Bands mature, musical tastes change. Tom Gabel's lyrics are still as meaningful as ever. But OH NO! they have a good producer.... and God Forbid, the have polished their sound.

  • @lolzlmao1 God you sound like a massive tool. Actually, I could care less about them signing to Sire. I still supported them after they went to Sire. They didn't polish their sound, they went 180 with their sound. They don't sound anything remotely like who they are supposed to be, a raw folk-punk act. They're not folk-anything anymore. You obviously don't get that because your head is too far up your ass. You don't know anything about who this band was, so quit acting like you do, asshole.

  • @couchfort i dont care what they were like.. I like them now. your one of those guys who likes the old them, the ones nobody knew, dont act so proud to have known them prior to there fame. suck my dick, while I fuck your ass.

  • @thespaceman48 I am proud. I knew them before they SUCKED. And wow, that was seriously the gayest thing anyone has ever said to me... also makes no sense, really.

  • @thespaceman48 I am proud to have known them before they SUCKED and appealed to scenefags like you. And seriously, what a horrifically homoerotic thing to say as an insult. Also idiotic and physically impossible. You're not one for thinking, are you?

  • @couchfort haha I like there music, i like country music, i like rock and I love the oldies.. you think you can classify everyone. dont you feel foolish.

  • @thespaceman48 Umm, okay, I like all sortsa genres of music as well, including 50's rock, jazz, and two-tone ska. And no, I really don't feel foolish. Thanks for asking though. Need to check once in a while :)

  • @thespaceman48 Also, it took you 3 weeks to come up with that. Don't YOU feel foolish?

  • @couchfort i was in san diego. i dont own an iphone so i can keep up to date on your bullshit, so suck on my rod you cheap dime store hooker. let me guess what your arguement willl be..wow your immature, you think your tough cause you swear big whoop. im gay and everyone knows it, i do like to suck dick. my names couchfort and im not straight. - my response. you know what your right. sorry to have affended you. your response - its ok, i just want to fuck you and I think your right! :)

  • @thespaceman48 Ummm... okay? You have some really weird pent up homosexual rage going on there, buddy. Lotsa projecting going on. Maybe you should finally have that talk with your dad. I'm sure he'd still love you if you just talked about it.

  • @couchfort if you dont like it then dont listen to it, that is your choice, but don't undermine other people just because you disagree with their opinion...douchebag

  • @GreatAether0 Not my fault other people can't just admit they just got into the band recently and can't understand why the old fans are mad because they weren't there early enough to get it. Probably cuz the band was too raw for their mainstream tastes... puss.

  • @couchfort I will be the first to admit that I just recently got into this band (it has barely been 2 days). For as much of it as I have listened to I have to say that I like BOTH the old and new stuff (though I'm leaning slightly more to the new stuff :P). Either way, it is all great.

  • @GreatAether0 Now see, that's a-okay by me. More power to ya. I'll stick to the old and all the great memories I have of them. Just know us old fans will always hold one thing over your head forever and ever... WE HAD WARREN! :P

  • @couchfort Cool beans :P

  • @GreatAether0 OK sorry, to interupt here, but you freely admit you have been into this band barely TWO DAYS and you're attacking long time fans for being hurt and pissed off at this LAME, sickening, commercial direction? FUCK!!! Where do I start?? How about you go and educate yourself and go watch the 'We're Never Going Home' dvd and then you may grasp a semblance of what this band means/meant to people. Nothing personal, but I hate noob Against Me! fans. You lot missed the boat. It's over!!!

  • @03h98u I believe you missed the part where I said I like BOTH the old and new stuff. As for "You lot missed the boat. It's over." No it isn't, you can still choose to hate the new stuff and only listen to old Against Me! all you want. That is your choice. I can be a new fan, and like BOTH the new and old stuff. That is my choice. Get over it.

  • @GreatAether0 BUT, you're leaning slightly towards the NEW stuff. The new stuff doesn't have an ounce of the heart, passion and raw emotion the old stuff does. Noob Against Me! fans are a completely different breed. If you'd heard this band just four or five years ago, you wouldn't have given them a second glance.

  • @03h98u I understand that is the general opinion of the longtime Against Me! fans. But maybe you should give it more of a chance instead of just saying "Oh this is too mainstreamish and poppy, therefore its shit." Perhaps then you will find more meaning in the songs since you will have grown used to the new style the band has taken on. Also you don't know I wouldn't have given them a second glance a few years ago. You're not me.

  • The new album is great. Sure, it's no Reinventing Axl Rose, but I already have that album. I'd have no respect for the band if they released the same thing over and over again.

  • i remember when these guys used to play at call the office and then i just saw them at the JLC

  • @MusicFiend2310 Yehh like he actually sounds worse on the recording. Like i went to a billy talent concert, and the opening acts were cancer bats, against me!, and alexisonfire, and against me! rlly wasn't that bad (cancer bats i am NOT a fan of) and alexisonfire was epic but yehh im not sure if i like against me! yet

  • the first song i heard by against me was na na na (shit stroll) wtf is this? they are going to waste and its all toms fault the drummer from hot water music only joined the band cuz he was broke fucking warren left cuz he knew better fuck against me! they are trash the cd sucks more then new wave and thats cuz new wave sucked , new wave was rated the best POP album of the year wtf is that imagine this one, maybe they will play with linkin park next!! fuck tom gabel

  • damn. tom at center stage? fuck that.

  • dont hate ! against me is always good wether there singing we laugh at danger or thrash unreal hell even teenage anarchist is a great song

  • When did Tom start singing in the middle of the stage?

  • @FearOfSinking seriously seen so many videos seen so many pictures and the dvd center stage no idea wats going on there

  • I don't think they'll make a step back, ever, maybe a few steps to the side, it just doesn't seem to have the same spirit to it as hearing the whole crowd screaming "pints of guiness make you strong" along with tom

  • AM! can do no wrong in my eyes. Just saw em last night for the 4th time. They aren't going to keep remaking Axl Rose. The music is obviously gonna change over time. They know they're going to lose old fans and gain new ones. And just for the record this song is fucking SICK live.

  • So I too got the leaked album...and if you can look past the overproduction and see to the heart of the songs the album's actually pretty damn awesome. I may just be blinded by loyalty to the band, but I don't think they're anywhere NEAR "a step back" from New Wave or anything else they've done. It's different yes but if every single song they did sounded like Walking Is Still Honest that would get boring too. For listeners AND the band. Keep up the great work guys!

  • @decal0han The thing is, not every song sounds like Walking Is Still Honest. The first three full lengths are all very different (really they are), yet equally amazing. It's just fallen to shit. I've never known a band's quality of music deteriorate so quickly. White Crosses (the whole album) is shockingly bad.

  • @oioirock green day, after dookie everything went to shit almost immediately

  • @Mccampbellthomas whaaaaat? thats a load of shit, nimrod, insomniac and even american idiot are all great records, you're just a snobby douche

  • @mommyimadeapoopy nope, afraid they sucked ask anyone who was a fan before hand, you're just an annoying shit with no good taste in music

  • @mommyimadeapoopy Green Day died when Nimrod came out. The only reason they resurrected after that crap album Warning is cause they went political which kids always buy into. One way to keep going in the music business.

  • @Mccampbellthomas Bullshit. Lies and fucking slander.

  • @codarkstarxx13 nope, they suck, so many good bands change quick and end up sounding like shit like alkaline trio, kings of leon and of course, against me. shit changes, sometimes for the better, most of the time not, happens with a lot of musicians, its the audio equivalent of jumping the shark.

  • @Mccampbellthomas Then again, I'm trying to convince a guy that just said Kings of Leon were ever good.

  • @codarkstarxx13 music is subjective, for instance, tom waits is awesome, some do not agree, robert johnson did kick ass things for blues, some do not agree, screeching weasel did awesome things for punk, some don't agree. some think green day were good after dookie, any body with good tastes disagrees. hell i can't even listen to em when i'm smashed get what i'm saying? you may like em (god knows why) but i don't, saying bullshit won't change that opinion jackass. try lawrence arms, they're good

  • @Mccampbellthomas Yeah, bud. I've been listening to the Lawrence Arms for years. But thanks for assuming. So seeing as though you like them and you just said I have a bad taste in music.. well, think it out if you can.

Here's the point. Green Day had almost the exact same style in Insomniac (after Dookie) as they did in Dookie. Even in Kerplunk, Green Day had some really poppy shit on that album. That's an album that's hard to enjoy the whole way through.

  • @codarkstarxx13 first of all, i have a friend who has horrible tastes in music, loves to listen to those shitty emo bands, but she also listens to tom waits. i know realize i've wasted a total of 10 minutes with this idiotic conversation, you like a crappy band, woopty-fucking-doo i don't care

  • @Mccampbellthomas Wow, that was the absolute worst rebuttal I've ever heard. Who said anything about Emo bands? I'd say it was idiotic because you've completely disregarded every point that your opponent has made. I can understand that people didn't like Green Day when they changed in Warning, or American Idiot or their latest release, but your points are simply mind-numbing.

  • @codarkstarxx13 ok i want you to reread the message, i was saying that just because you like a good band doesn't mean the rest of your tastes aren't utter shit. Tom Waits is good, emo bands are shit, she likes Tom Waits, but she mostly listens to emo bands=shitty tastes. Now i can see your having a ball acting like an ass on the internet (maybe one of the few skills a 25 year old in his moms basement has) but i gotta do more fun things than argue with you like pull my fingernails out

  • @Mccampbellthomas Well you seem to have enough time to keep coming back. And everything I'm arguing about, you do the same, but you just end it with saying that it's stupid, and then you continue arguing. Nice.

Second, you said that anybody with good taste thinks that green day sucked after dookie. So yes, you did just say I had bad taste regardless of what I like. Way to think about what you're saying.

  • @codarkstarxx13 in addition, think about it this way basically, family guy isn't as funny as it used to be, stephen king doesn't write as well as he used to, and steven spielberg can't make a movie worth shit anymore, so why should music be exempt to the same laws that govern every other facet of entertainment?

  • @codarkstarxx13

That's funny, because I'm pretty sure that Nimrod, Insomniac and Shenanigans all had songs that were almost exactly the same style as Dookie. Way to follow the mainstream opinion of a great band. If you ask me, Insomniac was 10 times the record that Kerplunk was.

  • @Mccampbellthomas warning was good =P

  • @HelpfullScape there was honestly just a bit of a transition, where the bad songs on the cd outnumbered the good ones, there money wasn't as on the line when they were kind of unknown so they really didn't have to worry about the investment and the dangers of it failing

  • @Mccampbellthomas Wrong everything after warning.

  • @oioirock

  • @oioirock You are joking, right. What i am left wondering is your determination of their deterioration of quality. This album may not be to your liking but, that does not mean the quality has suffered. If anything, this album is of the highest quality and this track "White Crosses" is perhaps the finest piece of music they have ever put to disc! If you need me to qualify my response I will, just contact me.

  • anyone else miss as the eternal cowboy?

  • YES! fuck! i miss his screaming without care!

  • @Mccampbellthomas The ephemeral cowboys

  • hell yes

  • @Mccampbellthomas

    hell yes

nothing after that was as harsh

though searching for a former clarity was great and new wave was so so

  • @clashcitywannabe i'm not gonna lie, i still pop in searching for a former clarity in my cd player a lot, i could never get into new wave though

  • @Mccampbellthomas

    One of my favorite cd's!!

  • @Mccampbellthomas No, I still listen to it regularly. It's not like that album just self destructed when their new one came out.

  • @gbreaux2 you're taking it too literally, i mean the days when they still sounded like the stuff on eternal cowboy

  • They do not fit in with the current Billy Talent/Alexisonfire/Cancer Bats tour. The other bands are either punk rock or metal, and rock the fuck outta everything, and these guys are like soft rock.

  • @gofojibwas haha yeah so true! Horrible middle of the road piss boring radio rock for your dad. And yet just five short years ago, they were the greatest punk rock band on the planet. Check out their old stuff, dude. Highly recommended. :)

  • @oioirock Clearly you never played in a band, covered as many miles, played as many shows in such a short time period. If you want to hear the same songs on every album go listen to your boring Nofx albums. These songs are solid and the album as a whole is the only album since Axl that doesnt contain a 4 keepers and the rest a bunch of medicore bullshit like "Ocean" Give the dudes credit as a band they gave us true punk. This album is theirs to be proud of.

  • @inspirationx1 ok so if i read that right, you're saying that every AM! record from Axl only contained four classics and the rest is mediocre bullshit? I actually think everything they ever did up to and including Searching For A Former Clarity is pure gold. And those early records sound nothing alike, but they're all perfect and amazing in their own way . By the sounds of it, you dislike more songs than I do.

As for White Crosses, the only thing solid about those songs is the cheese content.

  • How can you guys possibly call this boring? Serisouly? This is amazing. I especially love the guitar, this song seems so catchy and awesome. I can't wait for the new album.

    Anyone know the release date?

  • I just listened to the new album that leaked, and I gotta say it's massively disappointing. It sounds absolutely nothing like the old Against Me!, and has even taken a huge step back from New Wave which is saying a lot. Everything sounds repetitive and generic, and lacks any intensity that has made Tom's songs so powerful in the past. Color me disappointed... but I guess there's always the next album, right? =/

  • give it a month man. It will grow on you as you start to realise how great the songs are

  • @GIJosephBand I sincerely hope so. I listened to it a second time last night to give it another shot, but I feel like all the songs are overproduced and sound the same. They lack all the energy that made me like them in the past, and even the lyrics for the most part seem to get worse and worse. I realize growth and change is important for bands, but they're nearly unrecognizable from themselves just 4 or 5 years ago which is disheartening.

  • @Riot55 Totally agree man, it's massively overproduced. The new album makes Kings of Leon sound like Black Flag. Sure, i realise bands change and grow and that's fine with me, but this is fucking ridiculous. How did it all go so wrong??

  • @Riot55 yeah man me too. I was hoping that they'd just temporarily lost their way with New Wave, so it was a massive shock to me to hear it had actually gotten worse. Oh man, the new album is fucking horrible. Very sad.

  • sounds like it will be great as an acoustic. everything tom does acoustic is fantastic.

  • Boring song.

  • Anyone with CCR in their nick shouldn't be able to call anything Boring Music

  • hahaha....yea. it is kinda boring though. i dont know the new album might be the breaking point for me...we'll see

  • Against Me! actually sounds like CCR on many occasions.

  • @Aarn. That doesn't mean that they can't some shredding and screaming. Plus my main point was about this new song

  • @ktmyamaha01 Sorry, I more meant that a studio version is almost certainly gonna be all energetic and stuff.

  • god i hope so lol. if they ever come up to Southern Lancaster, PA, ill be in the front rows, jamming

  • The Atlantic? Holy shit that must have been a rad show to be at that place is tiny

  • I hate to say it, as a huge am! fan but these new songs just don't have that punk like, "FUCK YOU!!" energy that Tom used to put out. The guitar is just... Idk. The riffs used to be more simple yet twice as fitting and powerful. I'm never gonna stop loving Tom and his music but I think my Vivida Vis and Searching... Albums are forever gonna get the most action. Love you, Tom

  • @ktmyamaha01 Have you SEEN how cramped the fucking stage is?

  • To address the Andrew looking like he has less energy thing, I think it's just the venue. There's not a ton of room for him it looks like. If he moves around too much it looks like he'd knock into a bunch of monitors and/or Tom. Also, completely unrelated and maybe it's because he trimmed his beard, but he kinda looks like he lost weight.

  • I can't wait for the new album holy shit.

  • there old stuff was awesome but i think the new wave album had some of the best songs by them. just the intensity of the lyrics and how good the songs were musically. against me seem to have matured as musicians and are not afraid to change it up and play songs that are more technical. the band has progressed and in stead of blocking it out and sticking to their original sound they rolled with it. and i think it has payed off.
