Most people in southern Europe are not really "dark skinned". Look up what a tan is. The unexposed skin of most southern Europeans is much lighter. And darker traits have nothing to do with influence from outside Europe. They are "native" to Europe as well. The reason why it is pretty easy to also find "dark" Britons (think Mr. Bean, Catherine Zeta Jones, Ian McShane, Colin Farrell, etc.) and French is because they also have a lot of pre-Indo-European ancestry (Iberian, Ligurian, etc.)

Language is not a good indicator of such things. There are numerous examples of people adopting it from others, just like religion or other cultural traits. Latin or Arabic, for example, were imposed on millions of people who were otherwise not ethnically "Latin" or "Arab". Look for example at North Africa. Arabic is the most widespread language there, yet the population is more Berber than Arab.

The "Moors" did not even make up 10% of the Muslim population (let alone the whole of it!) of Iberia. Visigoths and other "Germanic" tribes were also minorities.

Most people in southern Europe are not really "dark skinned". Look up what a tan is. The unexposed skin of most southern Europeans is much lighter. And darker traits have nothing to do with influence from outside Europe. They are "native" to Europe as well. The reason why it is pretty easy to also find "dark" Britons (think Mr. Bean, Catherine Zeta Jones, Ian McShane, Colin Farrell, etc.) and French is because they also have a lot of pre-Indo-European ancestry (Iberian, Ligurian, etc.)

@CazadorDeZopencos You should present a thesis to some university defending that we're all celtic to some extent,but no matter how much celtic we are it is the most outspread ethnicity. Linguistics can reveal to be more related to ethnicity than you think.It's sure not the main factor,but can you imagine a loose roman presence in iberia sweeping all visible trace of celtic culture while the main population remained basicaly celtic?Do you defend spaniards are celts?You gotta face this question.

@locoawise The bulk of Spaniards are obviously a Celt-Iberian composite, not just Celtic.
Language is not a good indicator of such things. There are numerous examples of people adopting it from others, just like religion or other cultural traits. Latin or Arabic, for example, were imposed on millions of people who were otherwise not ethnically "Latin" or "Arab". Look for example at North Africa. Arabic is the most widespread language there, yet the population is more Berber than Arab.

@CazadorDeZopencos Dark skin btw,I meant in comparison with setentrional populace. Why do you think white latin americans aren't considered white by north americans? Because the white pattern is not quite white. Even uruguayans who are basicaly europeans are tan as you prefer, and their country is not tropical. So why? because theyre spanish europeans descendents. But you got a lot of facts,it can actually be a matter to question in university.I'll certainly will inform myself better on that.

@locoawise White Latin Americans are considered white in North America. Except for ignorant people who think that "Hispanic" is some sort of "race" (of which there unfortunately are many in the US), I don't see anyone in the US thinking that people like Guillermo del Toro or Hector Elizondo are not white. In fact, some of them look "whiter" than many "white" Americans.
White Uruguayans are not just of Spanish descent, BTW. Many are of Italian and Portuguese descent as well.

@CazadorDeZopencos You do recognize that nobody is fully "pure blood"today right?Because even those viking looking guys from denmark have some sort of mix, so iberians which had so many ppl influencing them are sure not. But anyway, tho I'd like to know what's my ethnic ancestry I'm pretty sure that's most irrelevant,specialy around here.Or anywhere I guess,I mean,ppl can't tell what blood you have,what matters is how you look n the way you speak so they can have their little prejudice.

I don't care what ignorant US people considers "white" or "not white", they are just ignorants.... They think Spain is a mexican state.

We don't give a damn about "Germanics". They never were a numerically significant element in Iberian history. We are perfectly happy with our Celt-Iberian origins.
Not even the English are wholly "Germanic", let alone the rest of the Britons, who have long been known to have a lot of Celt-Iberian ancestry (read the British anthropologists and ethnologists, like Bedd
