Up until I was playing the game through a second time, I thought the "Emancipation Grills" were called "Emancipation Grids". I swear GLaDOS calls them grids, at least in Portal 1.

I tried to take it with me as far as possible, but there was a fizzler at the catwalk. I then tried putting it down, but it fell into the fizzler. (Fizzlers are the particle fields across the exit. The only time they are close to being called fizzlers is when GLaDOS fizzles the companion cubes.)

This happened in Portal 2, in a way. GLaDOS was punished by fate for (although it isn't because of her) the Intelligence Dampening Sphere being used by Chell. GLaDOS was then cast into the bowls of Aperture Science and pecked by a crow.

This one was built by the fact sphere, the working ones were built by the adventure sphere, and the defective ones were built by Wheatley. Space sphere designed them and they reminded him of comets, which are in space.
