I WATCHED THIS MOVIE WITH MY SON , BUT HALF THROUGHT IT MY SON COULD NOT GO ONE WATCHING,. HE WAS 9 1/2 AT THE TIME BUT FROM WHAT HE HAS LEARDED IN CHURCH AND WORLD EVENTS.
HE SAID DAH, HOW FAR OFF FROM THIS HAPPENING AND I SAID SON, I FEAR THAT WE ARE NOT FAR, HE ASKED ME TO STOP THE MOVIE AND WE WENT OUT FOR A LONG WALK AND HAD QUIT AN INTERESTING TALK, WHICH MADE ME ALL THE MORE PROUD OF HIM AND OF MYSELF, FOR I HAVING HEARD HIM EXPRESS HIMSELF , I KNEW THAT HE WAS IN GODS BOSSUM FOREVER.
@EccentricElf23 I made it to the part where the Father finds the can of soda pop and offers it to the son. I kept the book instead of selling it back because I want to read the whole thing.

I just recently saw this film for a Film and Lit class...it was so moving that I felt guilty for eating for a few days after.
