all these old Spoons interviews I taped off the TV over the years...and compiled them all and put them on DVD and Darrin obtained a copy of the DVD from me.
Met Gord and Rob from the Spoons at Tattoo for their 30th Anniversary show last night! Timeless music and they looked ageless. Super talented band. Rob is so nice and so good looking!
Oh boy! This is vintage! I live in the US now, and I tell people that I remember CNN's John Roberts "back when" he was doing this stuff in Toronto. And interviewing the Spoons! What memories! Can it really be that long ago?
John Roberts , he really prepares and knows his stuff for interviews , it shows over 20 years later....now if he'd just color his hair he'd look like he never aged
He couldn't have. Cronkite didn't have as good hair at that age.
And Cronkite - like many front line broadcasters in the early days of television - hosted entertainment-oriented as well as news formats, including a quiz show and a morning entertainment show. Doug Edwards and Bob Trout did the same.
Nothing wrong with either as long as when someone wears their news hat, they handle the format with dignity. Hugh Downs was also adept at doing both.
JD Roberts with Bill & Ted. ;)

Yeah, this exactly how Cronkite spent the early part of his career.

But that was when he hoped to move up to Good Morning America.
