Was wondering, for the summer I plan on getting my own Mead going, something with strawberries and oranges, and more I review the more I hear about adding raisins as a cheap nutrient. Question is, I hate raisins, will adding them give it a raisin flavor or will it just act as a nutrient and not taint the taste?
@hiddindragon08 you dont really "need" yeast nutrient but its highly recommended to add. besides the cheapest yeast nutrient is Di Ammonium Phosphate or DAP it is sold in most if not all LHBS and also you can replace energizer by boiling bakers yeast to give your yeast some extra oomph and finish better. but if you dont add any nutrient expect that mead to ferment for a good 6 months to a year without nutrients. but its all your choice that just my two cents
