Very very easy animation to do in blender, but you put it in a beautiful way - I have an obsession (or addiction) for SSS features, but the wood there - Gorgeous. How'd you get it like that? Or was there anything special done for it?
everything's straightforward. i used cubes as placeholders and baked the physics that way. i parented the alphabet blocks to the cubes so tne animations would apply. add a little materials and texture for flair, and there you have it.
How long have you been using blender? How much experience is needed to make what you've made? And how long does it take to make this particular clip? Oh, and btw, Cool video. I'm impressed! Really great
Hey im starting working with Blender, but i have a macbook( weak graphics card), What does this affect? Will it take forever to render? And how long does a typical render take? Thanks. (Nice vid)
rendering in blender is all based on the processor and RAM. This render uses raytracing for replections, along with ambient occlusion, plus nodes for the vector blur, so it took some time. that comes with the territory.
but as far a a graphics card is conerned, you dont need a top of the line card unless you're making a really detailed model. graphics cards only matter for mesh building and the realtime stuff. i have an integrated card in my laptop, and it runs no problem.
Yes, blender Internal can do much than you think... In much less time! And BI abortable, and I don't know why, YafRay isn't. I hate long renders by mistake which I cannot abort!
yafray renders are abortable. alll you have to do is make sure XML is turned off before you start rendering. it still takes some time for the render to stop, but it's stoppable.
Let's say you made the alaphabet blocks fall down three times. The first time, all the blocks fall forward. Will the second and third time have the blocks fall differently or will it be just like the first time?
the engine works in real time, so, while it will be somewhat the same most of the time if you plan it, the simulation has a posibility of doing random things.
I had to re-drop the blocks a few times to get the result i wanted.
this is awsome, may i ask a q?, "when i try to make an animation, I render animation but it keeps doing the last fram over and over" so i check with the IPO curve and it seems to go on forever, how do I stop this?
that is truley amazing! It must have taken a long time ,like you said a few days worth of working with materials and set up =P. the best part is once youve saved it you can make all kinds of cool stuff using previous models like this.

nothing special aside from ambient occlusion.

I just got blender (well actually, I've got it for some longer time, but I don't get it anyway xD)

i've been using blender for six years. maybe more.
but you dont need that much experience to do this. this shot took a few hours of work to set up, if you make all that work continuous.
but it took like two hours to render.
and thanks for the input.

nice use of the game engine i really like the ground texture...did you use yafray?
tusagnamaster 4 years ago
no yafray used at all.
the internal renderer has come a long way. you can get great results with it.
Ambient Occlusion and a sun lamp are my best friends. they never steer me wrong.

Hi, I'm new to Blender and I have one question:
Let's say you made the alaphabet blocks fall down three times. The first time, all the blocks fall forward. Will the second and third time have the blocks fall differently or will it be just like the first time?

I found a tutorial on it, in the render window I need to select how many frames I want animated by defualt its starts 0 finish 250.

wow the quality of the blocks seriously looks real... if it wasnt for the overly shiny ground i woulda have said you were a cheater....
