The movie you are thinking of is Undercover Blues, NOT The Big Easy. I wish I could find the soundtrack listing for it. The tune being played in the opening scene (at the house party) is great!!

There was a beautiful song, "Amédé", I believe, also done by Beausoleil that used to be on UTube but has been removed. About Amédé Ardoin. Haunting and beautiful. What a shame it had to come down. I can't find it listed even in a Beausoleil playlist. Anyone know what is up with that?

Thank you! This is one of my favorite songs by them. (Two others being 'Kolinda' and 'Maman Rosin Boudreaux'). Unfortunately, I have never been lucky enough to catch them live in concert, but I have been a fan since stumbled upon one of their cassettes at the music store--around the early 90's.
