CS is the boring infrastructure, not the "new stuff." CS guys build the compilers, operating systems, etc... how is that fun? IT/IS guys build the applications (i.e. fun stuff) that runs on that infrastructure.

The "fun stuff" is all computer science--it's not MIS. MIS is about business and applying IT, not about creating new technologies
