  • This is pure shotokan karate. It has nothing judo

  • one thing I do find intresting and people kinda are not seeing, as much as he is out classing the other people, he seems alot more willing to fight, and the others just crumple mentally and see it more of a game, as most people do in sparring or striking tournys. The judo guy is full on and is going for the throat so to speak. That is one thing that grappling does more then striking martial arts, striking martial arts don't go 100% out of fear of injury, grappling do go 100%.

  • A o cara de azul eh muito ruinzinho.. Desculpa, mas é minha opnião! O de vermelho aproveitou da deficiencia do seu adversario.

  • Aren't all of those takedown also in Shotokan Karate, not just Judo?

  • Thats why I do judo ! >:)

  • the best fighters are proficient in many styles, they all have their places and can be put together in perfect harmony

  • wow for a red belt that lad is gooood !

  • man those fuckign karate nerds need to find a better martial arts cuz judo is owning

  • omg i didint know judo was so effective on karate thx it helped

  • The 1970s expectation was 20 years to master a martial art because we saw David Carradine.

The 1990s expectation was to become good enough it in a couple of months because of 'the Karate Kid'.

The 2000s expectation was pick up martial arts instantly because of 'The Matrix' and 'Chuck'.

Pick a martial art. After 30 years you become very proficient.

Just remember Rule1 (not 'Rule 1 of Fight Club'. RULE ONE.) "Never act incautiously when confronting small wrinkly bald smiling men."

  • If I were fighting I would probably protect my face with my hands, just a thought...

  • Since when does Judo hop around and strike? Since when does any martial art allow you to strike at a ground opponent? This isn't martial arts. This is almost as much of a disgrace as MMA...

  • @SuperGunnGunn How is MMA a disgrace?

  • @tywainwright1 They call themselves "Mixed Martial Artists." Sure, they have a background in martial arts but when you see them in the ring or octagon (seriously, that's a sad attempt to be unique. "Ooooh! I fight in an eight sided cage!"), they look as if they're street fighting... gayly with lots of groping and such. And Dana White should keep his mouth shut, saying Bruce Lee is the father of MMA. He's a REAL mixed martial artist...

  • @SuperGunnGunn I agree COMPLETELY with your statement about Dana White, he needs to shut his mouth. What you call "gayly groping" is actually grappling, what would you do if someone took you to the ground and tried to fight you? Also, their "street fighting" was the prodeuct of the first UFC events when karate "fighters" and other traditional martial artists would fight and get their asses kick by these guys, so obviously their "street fighting" is more effective than karate.

  • @tywainwright1 I know what grappling is and it's not putting your face at somebody's dick. Besides, they CAN'T completely use Jiu-Jitsu and Judo because that involves grabbing of the gi. They have on spandex pants and swim trunks. I can grapple in a fight, I choose not to sexually molest somebody. And that's why I respect the early UFC fighters like Tank Abbott. He's the man! And street fighting is the only way to win a fight. Martial Arts only teach you to defend against the same

  • @tywainwright1 moves from that martial art. But still, martial arts is indeed an art form and is not to be tarnished.

  • @SuperGunnGunn I have studied traditional Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate-do, I even went to Japan to train and watched my father recieve his nidan. I have also trained in a mcdojo called "order of the dragon" and yes Lyoto Machida does use karate effectivly, but it's mostly other styles as opposed to karate. The reason they wear

  • @SuperGunnGunn swim trunks is so people can't use the gi against them. Martial Arts was first created as a self defense method, if one was truly passionate about self defense, they would accept other styles. Not being open minded and not seeking to obtain a higher level of skill is truly tarnishing martial arts.

  • @tywainwright1 But that's the point. If the martial art involves grabbing the gi and they're not grabbing a gi... the point is defeated. And no, it was used as an art form BEFORE self-defense. And you don't have to reach a higher lever to to complete the martial art, you just need passion for it. Tarnishing it is by using it incorrectly and being boastful.

  • @SuperGunnGunn I do agree that many MMA fighters are much too boastful, however not all. What if you were in a real fight and the other person isn't wearing a gi? Would that technique not be useless? If it's useless, why should it be precticed? Also, Jujitsu, Ninjitsu, taekyon (forerunner to taekwondo) Pankration (Greek and Roman martial arts) Silat (Milaysion) Sambo (Russian) Wing Chun (Chinese) and many others were originally used for self defense.

  • @tywainwright1 It's the fact they they gloat about their achievements in martial arts and don't even perform it correctly. And it shouldn't be practiced because Judo and Jujitsu are ONLY performed with a gi. And the original martial arts forms were ORIGINALLY created as an art form instead of a self-defense method.

  • @SuperGunnGunn Okay, i've showed you the evidence I have that supports the theory of martial arts originally made for self defense, would you please show me your proof saying otherwise?

  • @tywainwright1 I've already said that it was originally created as an art form... I don't understand what you want more than that. XD

  • @SuperGunnGunn All you've done is say that, I don't see your proof of it. How do I know it was originally created as an art form? Where is your proof of this? What styles were originally artforms?

  • @tywainwright1 All original forms of kung fu. And if you're such a martial arts guru, you'd not need to question.

  • @SuperGunnGunn Okay, now are Jujitsu Judo Karate Pankration Muay Thai Boxing etc. original forms of Kung Fu? Oh no, they're not. That kind of makes your argument invalid doesn't it?

  • @tywainwright1 No. You actually kinda through yourself into your own demise. Those did not come before the founding forms of Kung Fu have.

  • @SuperGunnGunn Muay Thai, Boxing, Savate, Pankration were all developed in regions that were NOT YET INFLUENCED by Kung Fu, therefore had nothjing to do with it and were created as self defense methods, NOT artforms. There is one martial art created as an artform, Kung Fu, wich was then later turned into a self defense method, I just came up with 4 that were originally created as self defense methods. Following your logic, anyone who practices martial arts for self defense is perverting them,.

  • @tywainwright1 i'm pretty sure kung fu and japanese jujitsu was influenced by pankration.

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Kung Fu was not, look at the techniques.

  • @tywainwright1 I win.

  • @SuperGunnGunn How do you win? That makes no sense what so ever. I have just proved you wrong yet you say you win, that is completely illogical.

  • @tywainwright1 Because, I win.

  • @SuperGunnGunn Seeing how logic is absent in your mind, all of your other arguments and thoughts must also be invalid, thus proving your style invalid.

  • @tywainwright1 Not quite, because I win.

  • @SuperGunnGunn This speaks quite loudly about your art...

  • @tywainwright1 You're too high strung. I continued saying that and you just get so bent out of shape.

  • @SuperGunnGunn How did I get bent out of shape? I kept my composure quite well, unlike yourself who could only repeat an irrational statement. You've never met me, yet you claim to know I am high strung? Arrogant.

  • @tywainwright1 You seem pretty angry to me. XD Because I win!

  • @SuperGunnGunn I still don't understand how you win.

  • @SuperGunnGunn wohooo you won the useless arguement on a compueter arguing with someone you don,t even know. are you happy? come on kid...

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Oh noooo somebody's annggrryyyy. :3

  • @SuperGunnGunn fuck you kid, keep claiming you victory on a keyboard you motherfucker, go in a ring with me and you would be as useless as your pathetic arguments. fucking non-stop bragging piece of shit

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 U mad?

  • @SuperGunnGunn thats what most of the little kid says when they don't have any ''insults'' left..you kknow the kind of insults that make you laugh instead of making you mad..fucking tool

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Ohhh he mad! Ohhhhh he mad! XD Haha! You people take this shit to heart, huh?

  • @SuperGunnGunn you put the effort of yur argument to heart..but some how, you still sound retarded..and no i'm not mad

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 You're obviously mad. :3 You mad.

  • @tywainwright1 all the grabs in jujitsu using gis are supposed to be pressure points grabs. Obviously not all will be but still the majority of moves could be replicated in a real life situation

  • @datfitycal I have done Japanese Jujitsu and Brazillian Jiu-jitsu as well as a little bit of Aikido and in all of those forms this is not true, what form of Jujitsu are you speaking of?

  • Finish Him......

  • I want to say awesome job for the two disciplines not using full force. This is a sport, not a death match. As soon as a 'touch' or 'hit' is made, they pull back as opposed to 'going for the kill'. Excellent work.

  • How people have forgotten the effectiveness of Karate/Judo combination. nowadays, people only want to do Muay Thai/BJJ combination.

It is indeed very nice to see Karate/Judo combination still alive and kicking today. Thanks for uploading.

  • @rimidalvetarak Karate is barely effective at all.

  • @tywainwright1 In your opinion...

  • @tywainwright1 Says you? Please look at UFC. There is a 1/2 Jap 1/2 Barizilian dude there that use Karate very effectively. Please also have a look at Okinawan Karate.

However, you are not entirely wrong. A LOT of so called McDojos teach "Karate" which is designed primarily for point sparring or "feel good" factor. Now these are not effective at all, not even "barely" effective.

Unfortunately, many people in modern society can't distinguish b/w real Dojo and McDojo.

  • @rimidalvetarak wel i have a combination of taekwondo and judo haha :p

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 Yep. As long as it works.

  • @rimidalvetarak

    Karate/Judo combination = Traditional Jujitsu

  • @garry112735545 Interesting that you say that. I am yet to check traditional Jiujitsu. I will definitely check that out see how it looks.

  • @rimidalvetarak

Here you are typical traditional Jujitsu (JJJ, not BJJ) for example:

    watch?v=F9Ifb2qr_jw

  • @garry112735545 Holy cow. Looking at the video you mentioned, you are indeed correct.

I am surprised though. I have never seen such an amazing Jiujitsu. Is this only Bushinkan that fight like this? or any other TJJ also fight like this?

I mean I can see striking, grappling, takedown and submission in almost one go. Just like real Samurai fight.

    Thanks for showing me.

  • @rimidalvetarak

Welcome! But don't forget about Daido-Juku (aka Kudo), it consists of karate, boxing, judo and other technics.

  • @garry112735545 I have finally checked the Traditional JiuJitsu out. ... No, Karate + Judo is not = Traditional Jiujitsu.

Traditional Jiujitsu (from what I can see) is more like BJJ with equal stress of importance between standing grappling and ground grappling with some throws involved.

Karate + Judo is more about striking/positioning with little to moderate grappling and takedown/takedown defense.

  • no es judo vs karate es karate WKF solamente

  • These are not specifically Judo techniques, these ARE Shotokan Karate techniques.

  • that was a taio toshi not a osootogari

  • @crib220 First of all, tai otoshi and osoto gari. Second, tai otoshi is a slam and have to do it strike ahead, not backward. The technic is on the video with leg, so it is ashi waza, not te waza.

So it is osoto gari or osoto guruma.

  • @crib220 i noticed too

  • That is not even near judo. It is shotokan karate often called sport karate and has a non contact rule against the face. This guy is probably just smart enough to realise that his opponent wont see a throw comming even though they do it on the practice.

  • right. mis-named, but good in the description.

those gi's look too baggy. they should wear more gear.

  • judo is the best

  • This is why Modern day wing chun is still the victor...

People like Sifu Emin Boztepe or Leung Ting or Ip Chun show everybody wasup...

    Shaolin Kung Fu ftw

  • Glad to see someone utilize good Karate techniques in Karate ;-)

  • This is why I did judo

  • This is Karate Shotokan...One of the best styles that can really help in real life...and yes in shotokan we have judo tehniques but we use them better;)

  • @saburexno1 this is sport karate,you ignorant

  • @momo200090 it's shotokan=)) wtf is sport karate?=)) I do shotokan and I know how does it looks like

  • @saburexno1 sport karate is for pussys only two good styles of karate:kyokushin and shotokan;)

  • @momo200090 Uh...I disagree. Not all Karate is sport. In fact, Kyokushin and Shotokan are the biggest venues of Sport Karate.

Uechi Ryu and Goju Ryu are pretty good styles of Karate, as are Shorin Ryu and Motobu Ryu.

Just because no UFC fighter uses them doesn't make them bad.

  • @Suigetsukanno you're right but goju ryu uechi,... they are not sport karate those are traditional forms but i agree my apologies.

  • @momo200090 Ultimately it's the teacher and the curriculum, coupled with the individual, that determines the quality of the martial artist. Judging strictly on the style is absurd. The best Karate school I ever experienced was a Goju dojo. I think for Karate to be relevant today, one must follow Funakoshi's dojo kun, especially his principle of the importance of a philosophy towards life, instead of merely physical mastery or brute ability.

  • @saburexno1 omg -_- this was sport karate, sport karate is were the martial artist only trains for a compo and not a real life fight, but you always have to remember is not which martial art is the best it's the martial art

  • karate has throws as well not only judo does throwing techniques

  • most of the bunkai ends with the opponent on the ground.

  • karate has many techniques that were not showed in competition but if you study the kata you will see what i mean.

  • @pamisterios Yes, I know. Example, sukui nage is in tekki shodan.

  • this is karate, not judo. these techniques are from karate also.

  • Karate has had these techniques for centuries. Check ur history. Miyagi gave a demo for Kano during a lay over and was impressed with their "judo". Miyagi replied that it was "to-de".

  • @sadoruro check you inbox.

  • Oh my god... Jodan mawashi geri.. That guy is flexible!

  • Isso não se trata de judo e sim do verdadeiro karate...

  • You have done judo proud belekoty

  • Judo owns!

  • u seem like a good fighter

  • I'm actually surprised that they allowed grappling techniques at a karate competition...nice!

  • @MrWonkoSane WKF rules allow the throws.

  • @belekoty Does JKS, ive got a karate comp on sunday and i need to know asap! thanks!

  • @MrWonkoSane Actually, Karate has a rich history of open tournaments; although personally, I think they are a black mark on the art, and undermine their core values and principles.

  • @MrWonkoSane for your information karate has some grappling techniques.

  • @JustUsCrazyBoyz Being a brown belt in judo AND Isshinryu, I can certainly tell you that THESE techniques are Judo...and the grappling in Karate is really fairly limited.

  • @MrWonkoSane well clearly retarded because judo is throwing and ground work not punching or kicking.

  • @kwfsuperstar Try taking a look at the throwing techinques presented here asshole before you open your blowhole?

    Then go troll somewhere else?

  • its Ju Jitsu not Jiu Jitsu the combination of karate and judo

  • who won karate or judo?

  • @z06tiKo I know the history of judo. Jigoro Kano used jiujitsu for judo, not karate.

  • @belekoty Exactly correct!

  • @z06tiKo jiu-jitsu, not karate..how can judo be based on a striking martial art while judo is all about throws and ground work..

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 judo is in karate as well...now its seperated on just throws and ground work as its own martial arts and is called JUDO.

  • and for everyone who thinks judo is better then full contact karate, good luck fighting someone on the street (MOST THROWS ARE BASED WITH KIMONO, & gl with 2 people...)

  • @z06tiKo on the street? throw him on the head and his done...vtw, 95% of the fight end on the ground...what is karate going to do on the ground xD? judo have one of the best ground work of history..wich me luck if you want..most of the time when you are fighting somone u want to throw him on the ground first then finish him..or if u have a bad luck and u fall on the ground..judo ground fighting will make u win..get the fuck out judo own you

  • @R3dTigerM40A3 100% of fights start standing. i train both karate and judo. if you train judo exclusively, you are going to take at least one hit before you can throw your opponent. pure grapplers will freely admit that they will get hit on the way in. are you willing to risk that one hit ending the fight? i would rather set up a throw with effective strikes.

  • @eamonob84 i am black belt in taekwondo.

  • @z06tiKo You are full of crap! Judo is much older than Karate. Judo was originally Jiu-Jitsu. Judo means

"Gentle way" and was designed to be a sport! It was founded by Jigoro Kano, the Father and founder of Judo as we know it today! Learn some history before you open your pie hole!

  • @ChipMarine Well, Jujitsu is definitely older than Karate, but is it older than Te? Hard to say. Now is Judo older than Karate? Kano began his development of judo in 1880, and inaugurated it in 1882; It was finalized in *1887.

Conversely, Karate wasn't officially registered until 1933, by Myagi; however, it was germinating well before this, under the auspices of the likes of Hygaonna, Sakugawa, Matsumura et al.

So technically, I suppose, you are correct..

  • @ChipMarine jujutsu is older than karate; judo is not. judo was formed out of effective techniques of several different styles of old jujutsu.

  • @z06tiKo

Excuse me, Judo is derived from Jujitsu. Judo has no relation to Karate. Judo was developed by Kano in order to allow students to practice jujitsu(samurai wrestling) techniques without the fear of injury. It is similar to the direction many jutsu arts took after the great wars, from strictly fighting arts towards living philosophies(do). Kano did respect Karate, and I believe he did take some of its aspects into consideration, but to say Judo comes from Karate is absolutely false.

  • @z06tiKo You confuse me. I thought karate was born under influence of chinese kung fu on Okinawa island. And judo is modified Jiu-jitsu..

  • @z06tiKo Judo derived from Jujitsu, not karate

  • @z06tiKo no, ur wrong. i do judo, and I've been doing it for six years. judo comes from ju jitsu, not karate. Cono Sensei (the founder of judo) made ju jitsu evolve into judo. so karate and judo are different

  • @z06tiKo Although they are all japanese martial arts (except taekwondo, of course) judo is derived from ju jitsu, which was a Japanese war combat technique, therefore, it is not from karate. All of them are martial arts, but judo and ju jitsu are their own thing.

  • @z06tiKo actualy judo is jujitsu with kicks punches locks and pressure points!!!

  • jajajaja judo is a gay sport jaja

  • judo n karate would be a great combination

  • Judo is more exhausting it takes a lot more muscle in carats is the only physical what you learn to jump up and lift your feet off. The hurt anyone by any reasonable steps to bring I think bullshit. Judo has reasonable Technick varied and demanding. And besides, the really stupid and disrespectful to say Judo is Fuck. I do not say karate is for hyperactive children and those loving the fight they will come forward to prison because they do not know when the fun out of children's;)

  • Karate i the best judo is fuck

  • @valeriupopa2000 yeah thats why the guy gets taken down like ten times in five minutes by Judo techniques ... I am a Judo player but I totally respect Karate. Moreover I am pretty sure that if your Sensei read your stupid ass comment he´d kick your pea sized balls.

  • O GOSHI HARAI OGOSHI KOUCHI GARI AND HANE OGOSHI

  • @judopathoftruth What is the HANE OGOSHI? :-))

  • @belekoty The spring of big hips throw. :p

  • for those idiots that think this style of karate is not effective, well, this style is much better than kyokushin or others like full contact and shit

  • Not Judo, just lousy shotokan.

  • @mrthebillman Judo is a tough sport more effectively;)

  • @mrthebillman Judo is great^^

  • No judo at all, you don't punch at Judo, idiots

  • @OnbekendGHC Idiot! can't you read? "judo efficiency: useful judo technics in karate competition"

  • @OnbekendGHC you can, you just don't do it in competitions...atemi-waza is banned.

  • Ok, some of the techniques from the field of judo. But why he beats him again when he is on the ground anyway? One can distinguish what is and what is not judo. Judo is a mixture of different martial arts, karate also. But, rather less karate.

  • most of them were not o osoto gari coz they were thrown with the hip with a wide foot stance. most probabely an ogoshi variation

  • ai e isso manos vassan karate e judô ai o cara fica foda meu

  • @chaimdeitz Shotokan karate most certainly does have takedowns, but no submissions. You can use judo throws, but you don't get any points for them. You must finish off your opponent with a punch.

  • @MrAristes Karate practitioners certainly do have wicked power possessed in them, but they are taught self control and only told to use karate as a last resort. That's because they know that they can get injured when in a street fight and furthermore, get killed. But many people believe that sport karate is powerless. Mostly coz american karate is more popular than kyokushin. American karate is same as kyokushin, only it is semi contact. It is also known as American kyokushin.

  • Hey guys, im an orange belt in shotokan karate and my sensei is an 8th dan black belt, with a black belt in judo. Im abit confused, is there any groundfighting in karate, like takedowns/submissions/grappling etc. thanks im just curious because of there isnt i want to do jiu jitsu or judo aswell

  • @chaimdeitz why don't you just ask your sensei??? anyways, in Wado-Ryu Karate-Do we use all that, takedowns, submission, grappling, knife/sword defense etc... in kumite thu we don't use submission but takedown with a followup technique.. but in karate the point is: Stay up as long as possible, ground battles arn't practical (if you're not on mats) LOL

  • Having first learned karate and now learning judo both sides here demonstrated pretty good technique. Obviously judo>karate in this case but I have to give the karate practitioner his due. He did do a pretty good job considering he probably never knew how to deal with being thrown on the ground

  • I Wanna see Jiu-jitsu challeger that's Kind of Fighter !

  • Poem o Jiu-Jitsu ai ! quero so ver o pau-come !!

  • Thumbs up for the Kyokushin enthusiasts on youtube

  • @lakc24 no...

  • @MrSpat06 lol

  • i would say its a jiu-jitsu fight

  • karate vs karate

  • pero esto no es jiu jitsu????

  • the judoka is very good, he knows also karate or, alternatively is a ju jitsu guy.

  • This is a karate match. No Judo involved. Most karate instructors simply don't teach good takedown defense. And the kids aren't used to it when it happens because it's rarely used.

  • JUDO IS THE BEST!!! WOHOOO!

  • @greenBuddha11 Yeah that's true!

  • This is Karate against Karate! the guy has Judo experience or his instructor teaches good takedowns. Learn form anyone and thing!

  • Hope u can bring that skill in World Karate Champion.. ^^...

  • Comment removed

  • I was fortunate to train with people, who were white belts in karate, but, brown and black belts in judo.. So much we learned, back then. It wasn't all about promotions, then. I was a green belt for nearly two years; but, the skills I gained.. I personally don't like comparing one fighting art, or, style, against another. My sensei, the late John T. Pereira, often stated that in such an encounter, "the first one to make a mistake, is the loser.."

  • is the blue guy acting as a practice doll?

  • Why do all Japanese practitioners stay loyal to the Japanese terms for techniques? Always found this silly. They are only literal Japanese phrases for what they'd be called in English anyway. It's the Japanese instructor's and systems way of keeping everyone faithful to them. It's just like people being hung up with lineage. You mean Joe Blow can't teach a punch because he wasn't trained by Yamaguchi, Oyama, Funakoshi, etc...etc... Ridiculous.

  • @TaesaVerdi because you can't learn from TV like these guys apparently did: watch?v=euO53BWg8hI&feature=related
