Honestly the Old testament and the New testament totally depict Jesus (peace be upon him) in two totally different aspects. The Qur'an implores humankind to not blindly follow but to strive to research evidences and then reflect on them. I was brought up in a house that was fairly atheistic/agnostic, if not blatantly anti-religion, and now I have been convinced by the teachings of Islam. I would advise you to beware of the trappings of reductionist thinking and give the Qur'an another reading along with the hadeeth of Bukhari. (Qur'an, 79:30)" as proof that the Qur'an states the earth is flat, try finding another one because the root word "dahv" of "daha" (to smooth) means to set out in a circle. The Qur'an is God's expression in human language of how humankind, gifted with free will, can assume the harmony of the cosmos. The fact that this is a CHOICE is where the beauty lies. God knows your future, but do you honestly claim to know yours? In Islam God is the All-Powerful and the All-Knowing and for a lowly human to assume comparable powers you're only fooling yourself. We don't know our fate, this is why we pray to ensure that we are of those destined to enter heaven. The instructions are clear in the texts and in the example of the Prophet (saws). There is no hope lost while one is still alive. This life is our only test.

I did check out the site and in my preliminary readings I have found that the authors are issuing verdicts without a proper understanding classical Arabic, the Qur'an and the associated texts. And I beg to differ, people of faith tend to live happier, healthier lives than people who don't. This is fact. Proof positive is that Muslims do not need to medicate themselves with alcohol and drugs.

In the New testament they came out with the whole concept of the Trinity. Which is more confusing then a rubics cube. 3 in 1, 1 in 3. It doesnt even mathimatically make sense nor spiritually. Honestly the Old testament and the New testament totally depict Jesus (peace be upon him) in two totally different aspects. In the old testament it really doesnt mention that he is the son of God and that he should be worshiped. It actually states the opposite. When his apostles seen him pray on his hands and knees ( like us muslims do actually ) they asked what he was doing? He responded by saying he was praying to the one true God. Not his father. He was submitting himself to a higher being.

There are NO remaining original texts of the New Testament. They were lost not long after Jesus' time on earth. Lost for good. How can you or anyone else for that matter refer to a text that is KNOWN to have been tampered by the human hand? The Qur'an and the Sunnah on the other hand have been CORROBORATED by many accounts which have been recorded and preserved throughout history. This FACT is not disputed by non-muslim scholars. Only if you can suspend your disbelief for a second and understand that the Qur'an and the example of the Last Messenger is the body of work that provides this proof. Christ is the messiah- he will come, we don't deny that. But he will arrive as the messiah and not God himself. We are very careful about what it is written in the Bible because it is a known fact that Paul came with a very different narrative of the story of Jesus than what was practiced by the early Church. The majority of Christians in the time of Jesus pbuh and thereafter believed that Jesus was a prophet and not God. This is a known fact even by Christian scholars. Do your research.

Also take a look at the numeric miracle which sets the Qur'an so it can never be altered without changing this. Theres many aspects to it.. and many videos on here, just look at a few different ones. All is based on Chapter 74 (esp verse 30 onward) - a chapter aimed at people of the book (ie Christians and Jews) to remove any doubt

I suggest you go read the Quran - everything I said is true, I have just read the Quran. I have it in my hand - he had sex with a 9 year old girl when he was 55. He began to take slaves after he moved to Medina. Whole chapters of Hadith are dedicated to dealing with the taxation, treatment, sale, and jurisprudence of slaves. Read it. I was brought up in a house that was fairly atheistic/agnostic, if not blatantly anti-religion, and now I have been convinced by the teachings of Islam. Where are your evidences? If you're seriously trying to use the ayah "After that He smoothed out the earth. (Qur'an, 79:30)" as proof that the Qur'an states the earth is flat, try finding another one because the root word "dahv" of "daha" (to smooth) means to set out in a circle. This is why we are also encouraged to learn arabic to understand God's teachings.

Free will and Predetermination need not be mutually exclusive. Allah says in the Qur'an: "I have created the jinn and humankind only for My worship" (51:56). In fulfilling our covenant with God we must prove our faith with ACTION. Follow the 5 pillars and do good works. If we NEGLECT these duties we will be banished to the hellfire. God the All-Knowing already knows who's going to fulfill this covenant. The Creator, exhalted is He, doesnt operate within the constraints of time and space.

The point I am trying to tell you doesn't matter if there are good or bad Muslims.
All the mistakes in the Qur'an and the things Mohammad did mean that it's a wrong belief system.
God didn't write it. It's not Gods word. God has never spoken to anyone or an angel or devil or a unicorn or santa claus. These are imaginary things just like God. No one knows if there is a God. There might be but it definitely wouldn't want you to follow Islam or any religion

What I ask you is, upon learning how vast the universe is, the perfect orbits of the planets, the changing of the seasons and the sheer diversity of life on this planet - all working in complex harmony with each other - that it would be far fetched to believe that the very Being that governs the actions of the above wouldnt give us our own instructions to follow so that we may join this harmony? we are already in this harmony, there is no where else for us to go. If God were to give us instructions they would be something much greater than the Quran. Do you not think that if there is a God that this is the world it gave us. This is our heaven or hell - its up to us to make it work. There's no afterlife.

Where are you living? Mars? Have you looked out the window and learned about all the economic, social and environmental problems caused by humankind. The miracle of the Qur'an occurs when it is read and its teachings are applied to ones life, hence restoring true peace and harmony in the world.

Now you're changing the subject and moving from scripture to current events. May it be that since the time of the Crusaders Christians have been plundering the muslim lands for their treasure, resources and knowledge rendering them in the state they are in today? Just a guess but I am no expert.

Point is, there is a whole lot of philosophizing and debate and discussion and puffing up of chests claiming this or that system or ideas are the right thing to follow. But where the rubber hits the road they all fail to answer basic questions and fail to motivate humankind to its most fulfilling, peaceful state of existence. All these other systems of belief crumble in comparison to Islam.

Actually, Allah is real and the afterlife is realer than we can imagine. We will be resurrected and called to account as readily as we were once born into this world and eventually will die. This life is a test. An exercise. The best students are the ones who are prepared and ready to act on what they know.

if there was life after death then you would be still alive. We don't live forever. There cannot be an afterlife and because you know you are alive now then you know you better hang on to it as long as you can.
the Quran has a lot of bad teachings so you should avoid it. The world would have less economic and social problems if people stoped living in a fantasy land praying to something thats not there and actually got up and went out and tried to solve problems.

You're right, no matter how much you exercise, eat right, etc. we're going to die. This is a test. One shot. Now how are you going to design your life? To pray five times a day and to give testament to the oneness of God is the ideal. Anything less and you will have shortchanged yourself. The afterlife is real. Think about this next time you wake up from a nightmare. This is a good peek into what could possibly be ones fate should we disobey.

@4gotten1s Jinns are everywhere and the Prophets (pbut) received the message everywhere and everything a prophet said or did is infallible. Especially the last and final messenger of God, Muhammad sal'Allahu aleyhi wa salam. The prophets were NEVER influenced by the devil if that's what you are inferring.

Remember it is incumbant on EVERYONE to read the Qur'an in its original form, meaning the Arabic. The english translation is but a TRANSLATION and not the actual Qur'an. Hence, these "mistakes" you are clinging to are more often than not linguistic misinterpretations by intellectual amateurs barely fluent in their own tongue.

Allah (swt) didn't "write books" he inspired revelation through the Angel Gabriel to the prophets throughout human history. The Holy Qur'an is the pure, unedited compilation of his final revelation to mankind through his last and final messenger Muhammad, may peace be upon him. If you contemplated even a second on why those stars and galaxies you mention move in perfect orbit you will understand why God would reveal a message to us little people. down here on the planet earth.

I did check out the site and in my preliminary readings I have found that the authors are issuing verdicts without a proper understanding classical Arabic, the Qur'an and the associated texts. And I beg to differ, people of faith tend to live happier, healthier lives than people who don't. This is fact. Proof positive is that Muslims do not need to medicate themselves with alcohol and drugs.
