  • My jaw literally dropped when I saw Mike Portnoy's ending.

  • Funny; everyone I've showed the band to has said Dream Theater changed their life xD

    No doubt they changed mine.

  • Comment removed

  • poor, they do not know what you lose!!!!;-)....

  • The whole song's just epic. This "Grand Finale" took my breath away.

  • this album would definitely be my second favorite after scenes from a memory

  • James must taked some serious shit in this concert

    he's fuckin awesome

  • love this!!! DT rules!

they deserved that gig so much! and deserve to sell that place out every tour from now!

  • not even stupid

  • I'm pretty sure if I got the opportunity to sing at Radio City I'd come up with a wardrobe better than a crappy brown shirt, slacks, and workboots.

  • i wished my orchestra played with them our at least with someone :P

  • Foolish mortal...

  • GOOD BAND !! Chek OUT my cover of Erotomania !!!

  • GREAT BAND !! What the hell does chek mean

  • I really want to find the score for this.... someone know where I could find it?

  • i know, i want my orchestra to play the overture to this song but they havent released it yet :( come on guys lol but 6DOIT is defenitely really far up there with my favorite songs

  • Fuckin' epic, this one!

  • I give 20 bucks to whoever finds a single mistake in this performance!

  • it ended. BAM. hand it over

  • irish go suck one

  • lol nice

  • mike portnoy missed a snare hit the second time over the verse 1:00

u need my address? I can provide it. I would like my 20 written in check please :D

  • That sounded intentional to me. Unlucky XD

  • oh man..:D you're incredibly right!!!!!!

  • 3:25 a little Myung's indecision. But nothing that really matters and nothing that can decrease the majesty of this concert.

  • I absolutely love that Portnoy gets off his throne, while still bangin' away, to go and smack the gong.

  • Just gotta love DT...another song dealing with something touching and personal...just as the whole SDOIT: AMAZING!!!!

  • myung make a little mistake

    L.O.V.E DT so much

  • Ok, so hear me out.

Very emotional song and was performed very well. I just can't help but get a kick out of Mike Portnoy's falsetto voice LOL

Sorry, had to be said. It blends well, but if you really listen for it it sounds funny.

    Oh, and Labrie FTW

  • Petrucci somiglia ad hetfield dei metallica...che brutto!!

  • yet another dream theater song that gives me chills all throughout

  • I could post a comment for this song every day. Keeps getting better and better everytime. Also better than the CD version. Brilliant perfomance. One of the best songs I know. And yes, that part at 2:33 is absolutely amazing.

  • labrie was perfect !!

  • sure he was!

  • agreed!

  • This time it's true!

  • When people here that they have a 42 Minute song, they think "GOd, it bust be 42 Minutes of boring Techno and extended Guitar Solos." Those people are wrong. This is one of Dream Theater's most epic songs.

  • you could probably have to pay 10,000,000 dollars for one of myung's sweat drops

  • he's a robot

  • Simply Amzing, just amazing!

  • The way that first 40 seconds transfers us from About to Crash reprise to Losing Time/Grand Finale is simply incredible, and gives me goosebumps every single time.

  • Portnoy SMASHING that gong ends it so well

  • FUKKIN AMAZING

  • how much is an average ticket to a DT concert? (considering that each concert is more that 2 hours i believe)

  • Usually they play for 3 hours or more ;)

Seeing them this year in germany and the price is 46€

  • Well here in Holland the show costs €80 so in Dollars that would be something round 90 dollars I guess.

  • Oh man, this is so awesome. Epic!!!

  • wow that was absolutely awesome to watch, but has anyone seen them live recently are they still this good ? it looks amazing to watch them, i'm gonna go see them while i'm at download i just kinda wanna know what i'm in for well i know they're amazingly talented but time takes its wicked toll on all so feedback would be great thanks in advance.

    kisses and blood Rose

  • oh my god they are amazing live

i saw them last year, it was the best experience of my life lol

  • yes, they are great, i also saw them april last year, something you have to see once in your life....

  • ..once? :D

  • yeaah! I saw them In México, sold-out tickets.. that shows you Dream Theater rule the world

  • I saw them in Bonn in 2007. They were just fucking mindblowing. Best concert i EVER saw in my entire life.

  • I've said it before: Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence is a modern masterpiece of music. I don't care what your taste, what your interest. By this AMAZING finale, you will be floored.

  • 4:44

    just love it

  • 2:27 Epic

  • best band ever, lejos la mejor!!

  • lol at like 1:04 second violin player in dude looks like john denver

  • no matter what dream theater does they will always be the best progressive band of all time

  • are you joking with me?? stupid stupid man (no offence).. They are not only the best progressive band, they are also the best band in the world..

  • Agreed ! they are the best, great musicians !

  • James Labrie FTW

  • otima musica...

  • exactly, and i thought music had died

  • greenday. " e5, a5, e5, c5, a5, alright. now let's use that for everrrrry song!" dream theater. "let's not do that. "

  • hahahha ye i hate fuckin mainstream retards!!!!!!

  • hahahaha well put

  • I'm gonna put it bluntly... at 2:30 Labrie rips the worlds balls off and crushes them unmercifully

    Labrie and DT FTW!!!

  • lol I love portnoy hitting the gong...epic

  • the gong is like the greatest since Bohemian Rhapsody. i love how every song by them sounds like Bohemian Rhapsody. they have several parts in one song and it adds to the diversity of Dream Theater. makes them one of the greatest bands of all time

  • Look, I don't care if you like DT or not, but anyone with any sense would have to admit that these guys are musical geniuses. Everything they do is so creative and passionate. If you want to talk shit go do it on a Green Day post. I play guitar and I know what it takes to create and play what you're hearing here. If you don't like this you are tone deaf and stupid. If you can't play it than shut the fuck up.

  • yup, 1 song DT= 1 album green day, haha

  • hahah 1 song DT= ALL SONGS by Green Day. albums like American Idiot is flushing our youth down the toilet because they're becoming idiots. "Dont wanna be an American Idiot" is becoming controversial

  • All Songs by Green Day=5 secs of a DT song :D

  • I hope this was sarcastic

  • PURE GREATNESS

  • snowchick i just think you're full of shit no offense haha

  • bulllshit, he is an incredebly talented vocalist. Of course he can sing like that! It is him god damnet!

  • Wow Labrie can still sing afterall

  • hahaha

  • Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence -- Best Song of Dream Theater !

Dream Theater --- BEST BAND EVER !!

  • 2:31 may just be the most epic moment of all of dream theater's songs.

of course i'll probably change my mind the next time i listen to any of there other songs. best band ever

  • Mate, its called vibrato. Its a part of vocal virtuosity.

  • one of the best dream theater song i love them!!!!

  • Lordganton, Labrie is the best singer in America.

  • even though he's canadian not american :P

    which makes him better! :D

  • canada is in america -.-

  • canada is in north america... but i guess you can sometimes call the whole area, its just when i think of america i usually think of USA

  • America is a Continent!! xD

He's not saying USA. America is not USA xD.

    Anyway. James sings awesome.

  • Usa means United States of America. And in a lot of countries usa is called simply "America". xD Come on! It's simply to be confused!

  • Dream theater is the most powerfull band now for me definately. When i listened this song first time, i wanted to cry, even if i didn´t understand the text, cuz im 15 yrs old. Whenyou see orchestra playing with them, it must me unforgottable memory for you. Please dream theater, come to Slovakia.

  • The note at 2:30...it invoked a very powerful emotional response in me. I cried, it was so beautiful--every time I hear it. My god. James is inhuman, dare I say, a god, and without question the greatest singer of our time.

  • i love this song

    i makes me think

    it like i am

  • agree

  • EPIC

  • I love the way Portnoy wacks the Gong at the end! lol

  • one of their best songs...

  • Long live James LaBrie

  • This is the correct answer for all the Labrie's detractors.

  • Are you kidding? Listen to that part at 2:27 - he NAILS that high note, perfectly! And he's always on-key and on power throughout the performance. This is perhaps the best live rendition of any song ever.

  • i totally misread the comment i agreed to. i meant to imply that he does very well on this song.. honest. i thought i was agreeing to "this is a good example -to the people out there that think Labrie cannot sing well live anymore- that he can still sing".

  • ah ok, fair enough! I can't find any fault with his singing in this song, except maybe he could have held that last note a bit longer. I need to get this DVD.

  • same here. i've been debating whether to get Chaos in Motion or Score. I've read that score is better so i might try and find that one. may have to order it off the interenet cuz i doubt local cd stores would have it.

  • get them both. ;)

  • ah not always on key Count:P

remember live scenes when he fucked his vocal chords?

  • LOL at 2:30

  • Hell YEAH!!!

They are the best of the best.

    Long live Dream Theater.

  • god that was fuckin epic

  • LaBrie are you human? you must be something else more than singer? A awesome one! No word!

  • aww. no two minute held sustained note ending?

  • THE GREATEST BAND EVER ! AMAZING, MASTERPIECE, NOT ENOUGH WORD TO DESCRIBE THIS SONG!, sorry for my english if i have some mistakes

  • A MASTERPIECE!!!

  • Lol, Portnoy's solo at the end got me laughing. A complete masterpiece.

  • my opinion...it's a masterpiece!!!all of them are just brilliant!!

  • Wow. That was a pointless waste of noticing on your part.

  • Zalshy owns TheDorian66

  • Just finished to learn this 42 minute masterpiece on the guitar. Finally it's over XD

Can't play it perfectly thou, but I know it about 85% now. I have to wait a year or something to be able to play some parts ^^

    Go Labrie!!

  • haha excellent! I just started learning it, i'm about 4 mins through overture atm. I learned The Odyssey by Symphony X front to back, and thats a 24 min epic, so this seemed like the next logical step up ^^

  • Nice :) I love The Odyssey, thou it's still to hard for me, I'll have to wait :(

  • Fair enough. Some parts are tricky, though for the most part its not too bad. Its the second solo that gets me, the one thats in 9:8 or whatever.

  • I'd love to see The Odyssey with orchestra :D

  • That would be great! But, I don't think symphony X will ever be able to get the gigs + popularity to make it worthwhile :(

  • I believe that one of the orchestra instruments at 2:42 etc is awfully out of tune?

Nevertheless an incredible performance, like not from this world!

  • James Labrie at his best!

  • Voice has returned

  • god this band is frickin ridiculously good! every member of the band is fucking great!

  • Labrie absolutely nails the high notes at 2:30 and 3:36...amazing performance of an amazing song.

  • Yeah, once again he proves that he's an amazing singer... Everyone who keeps critizing him unfairly, take a look at this!

  • Amen.

  • This is.... amazing. it goes without saying.

Dream Theater is such an amazing exhibition of musicianship and talent.

    You gotta love these guys.

  • the crowd is in awe...

  • They probably crapped their pants on Metropolis. I know I nearly did the first time I heard it live...I was blown away. James really does sound good live.

  • i crapped my pants and got an erection at the same time when i heard myung play the metropolis bass solo live.

  • Portnoy's a freakin' badass.

  • Brilliant.

    Rawk on \m/

  • I could sell my soul to the devil to have his voice...

  • Man JAMES LABRIE is SPOT ON.

  • gotta love james from 2:25 to 2:35. Awesome

  • dude-the best part of his voice in this video is 0:01 to 4:53

  • even when he's not singing his godliness cracks my computer screen.

  • But he doesn't even start singing until 0:41 and then he only sings until 4:27...

  • see previous post right under yours my friend. :)

  • I suggest getting a new computer screen if its cracking even when he's not on the screen.

You should check out any of the live in tokyo videos. He's even more godly.

  • yeah, you're right. I guess it's just that the entire band is so friggin amazing that my laptop can't take the stress. I had to get stitches the other day when my earbuds blew up in my head :).

I will check out the live in tokyo vids. Looking forward to it. Thanks a lot.

  • Also if you like metropolis search "Dream theater live at the marquee metropolis"

Thats his best performance of the song to date. Don't even reply until after you've listened. I have the feeling you'll come back to thank me.

  • you know, ozzymeetsjesus, you're absolutely right. Its incredibly gorgeous the way he performs it. A couple weird notes in the beginning, but it has all the color of the score performance, if not more. The fact that it's an audio vid also means that it's on cd! I'm gonna buy it!

Thanks, man, for showing me another DT gem.

  • No problem. That album is amazing.

If you can, find the japanese version which has "another day" on it. The best live version of that song, period.

  • I love Another Day....one of my favorite songs ever. I will look for the Japanese version.....thanks for all the help!

  • best song of SDOIT for Sure!!!!!

  • i love it when people wave their hands in the air... haha

  • What a immense performance, the rest of Six Degress was good here but this IMO is the best part

  • yeah. it kinda reminds me of octavarium though.

  • Six degrees was before octavarium though. So if anything octavarium should remind you of six degrees of inner turbulence

  • Losing time... a lapse pf perception... :(

  • why so sad?

  • DT is the best band ever

  • beatiful

  • haha. thx

  • The last chords make me shiver. A real masterpiece... Makes me want to cry.

  • Petruccie is God!

  • this song always wanna make me cry, idk why. not to sound gay, but it just does. its so powerful

  • Crying is not gay. Other than that, I agree. Beautiful song.

  • that really gets under the skin...

    this is simply awesome

  • nice gong!

  • "ora che ho perso la vista, ci vedo meglio."

  • About To Crash (Reprise) Comes Before this. If Thats what you mean.

  • our ellusive mind.........

  • HAHA oh shit

  • this song is where you can listen the whole theme of the album...just like Octavarium album has.,every single song has a theme riff that relates to the ending.
