SPIEGEL ONLINE: If the GOP gets defeated in November, what will the future of the party look like?
FRED BARNES: We will see a new a GOP Base, there won't be a clear party leader. One thing is clear: The Bush/McCain era will be over.
SPIEGEL ONLINE: What will hurt the GOP on election day?
BARNES: BUSH, will hurt both the GOP & John McCain. It will probably cause McCain to lose the presidency -- & the GOP to lose even more seats in the House & in the Senate.
Completely agree with David Sirota. There's no reason that this bailout actually address the people at the bottom and give them a lift up. We've just experienced 7 1/2 years of the top getting all the help and look at the mess we're in. Where's FDR when you need him?
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies . . .
If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] . . . will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered —Thomas Jefferson

I wish more of our congressmen would listen to him and to Michael Moore. They both have such good suggestions.

David Sirota books are so filled with wonderful information -- I wish every candidate read his books; our country would be better off.
Thanks, David
