Gameplay is questionable. I can't say anything as I haven't played it yet.

Lots of all star DJ's contributed to this game however, and the songs and mixes thereof are amazing. By far the best soundtrack of any of the various music games.

Nice for other people like myself who don't care for heavy amounts of electric guitar in their music.

If music is that which is a composition of sound arranged by a composer using an instrument, the DJ composes a composition with his turntable which turns out to be music. It both takes skill and therefore talent to make music as a DJ, or as an example, a flutist. Maybe turntablist would be a better word to stop the confusion between a radio DJ and a DJ who creates his own songs. You may not like this style of music, and that's your own right, but to deny it as music is simply ignorant.

If it sounds great, why isn't that talent put to use? If you'd make a song and I find it nice to listen to, I'd say you have talent, because you please my taste. And it's not simply mixing, as in merging two tracks together: there's a new produced rhythm with accents on different beats, there are new sounds, new harmonies, new melodies. You may think it sounds non-original because you recognize certain bits, but by limiting yourself to that thought you forget to actually listen to the music.

I get your negative view and I agree that certain songs within hiphop, rap and reggaeton sometimes sound cheap. And since these three genres lean on sampling the sound that's produced is "taken", which seems like a lazy job from the composer, borrowing ideas from earlier concepts. But that's inspiration. People always rely on something to be creative, whether that be a subject like sex, love, or politics; or sounds like a mass produced guitar, keyboard, a sampler, or a turntable produces.
