  • @TheDivinePunishment Thanks,I will tell you the same thing I tell every one else.Practice,practice,practice.

  • Dang! I used to work in an auto body, but it was all vac trucks, so 3-4 hours of priming, 6-8hrs of sanding, then another 3-4 hours of spraying.

I only got into airbrushing as a hobby but havent done it in a long time.

Now Im helping building a derby car, wanted to do a lil extra something with the paint job, got lead to this vid from reviewing how to do lighting.

But god, I suddenly got the urge to re-learn and grow with it all!

    Very, very awesome!

I wish it was realy so easy!!

    Thanks!

  • @Lynium Don't stop now I have 80 more videos for you to look at.LOL

  • @edhubbs Aye, I did a killer lighting job on the derby car, In the end it turned out nice n realy was easy to do, even tho i hadnt ever realy used an airbrush, and we used cheap paint from UFA. i will have to get around to uploading some of the vids i took of it after it was done, B4 and after the carnage! hehe. it was great to have a whole car to practice on. everyone loved it.

Thanks for the great vid. Now, i need to start collecting some paints to play with on scrap sheet metal :D

    Thanks!

  • The techniques on this tutorial could be translated over to what I used to do. I used to do glass etching, using an airbrush that shot fine grit aluminum oxide. You're are very skilled.

  • @arnold02000 I will d be doing a glass engraving video soon.Send me some of your pictures I would love to see your work.

  • @edhubbs I look forward to seeing your engraving video. I will see what photos I have here. I know I have some of the crystalware for sure.

  • @arnold02000 Have you ever seen the glass etching video's on youtube that I do using aluminum oxide?

  • @edhubbs No I haven't. I will definitely look at them, though.

  • im very impressed by your work, its just to bad the movie quality sux on most of them, most of the details disapears :(

    keep it up tho ^^

  • @grimstad84 Ya my old ones weren't shot in HD,but all of the new ones are. If you are interested I also sell HD video's on my web site.I know that they are not free like these....but.

  • i just wish this video wasn't time-lapsed, i was hoping it could help me paint a wolf myself, it just goes too fast to be any help.

  • @unsc2295 Sorry, can't please every one.I do sell video's on my web site that are designed to teach you how to do it and they explain every thing very well. But they are not free like these ones.

  • i liked the outcome, when you start a job like that do you finish it in a day?

I am just learning how to fog stain to even colors out on wood like pine. But you're on a totally different level. Wow...God has given you amazing abilities! Iwata micron from coastairbrush(dot)com

  • more curiouse then anything, tip on or tip off .. and are you using urithane .. ect kind of paint? ..this job is ABSOLUTLY stunning and you are a true role model in the industry of art. Also around about how much time did a project like this take you?? Thanks :D

  • @audi97x I like the tip off on my Iwata. The complete project took about three days.

  • Great. It looks really fun to work on black background.

I've been drawing for some years now, but I am still a noob when it comes to airbrushing. It looks like most of airbrush art are being photo reffered, but do you think some more cartoony style would work good too?

  • @stenseng It looks cool. Alan Pastrauna does Graffiti air brush style

  • what was that you used for the clouds?

thanks ed, love the vids man

  • @Ridevans4life Cotton.

  • @edhubbs do u spray directly on the cotton?

  • @bboy0610 On the outer edge.

  • Were you an artist before you start air brushing? I bought an Iwata about a month ago for painting my fishing gear, but its grown in to something much bigger then that. I cant put it down. I am not an artist at all, but at the same time my airbrush keeps me busy for atleast 2 hours everyday. I love watching you guys that know what your doing. Thanks for the video, good work to!

  • I just picked up at the dollar store some long wheat stocks that are going to work awesome I think.

  • ed, i used your fur trick recently for a project! it worked really well. i didn't have a brush i could use though so i went outside and bundled up some pine needles... still worked though. thanks alot man.

    shooter

  • There ya go man,now your thinking.

  • thats what I thought. had to ask though :)

  • No problem.

  • hey ed, looks awsome as usual. any chance you still have the original video without the music? i would realy like to hear what you're saying as you're spraying. thanks

  • Nope,sorry man.

  • Hey ed, you should try to airbrush some type of graffiti.

    That would be really cool!

  • Go to coastairbrush(dot)com and check out Pastrana he does wild looking Graffiti art.

  • i've been airbrushing for about a year, and i'm getting better all the time, but some times little things like the trick you did for fur (in a different video) make my life so much easier. you can never learn to much ya know? thanks for the help man.

  • I know what you mean I learn some thing new every time I paint.

  • Hey Ed, what do you think of Master airbrushes from airbrush depot?

  • NO....NO...NO !

When I first used them they worked great for about a month,BUT then the "o" ring seal failed and causes the air brush starts spitting and sputtering. Buy a Iwata.

  • ok Thanks a lot! You really saved me some grief then! I think I am going to buy a gravity feed Eclipse then

  • Good Choice.

  • i want to make this too but i don't know what the colors are cane you tell me?

  • Not enough to know what I am talking about.

  • greetings from north carolina Ed. awesome job.! was just wondering as someone just starting out in airbrushing, what is your honest opinion of the Devilbiss DAGR as a first brush, how is it in your opinion as far as close in detail work.? thanks.

  • I think that it ia a very good air brush, but I would choose a Iwata over it any day.

  • I was just wondering, when you put on the blue, is that transparant color or is it candy?

  • It is a transparent candy.

  • good work mr.hubbs

  • Thank you

  • nice job

    yeah

  • Thanks

  • excellent work ed!

is there a shelf time for my auto air paints after i have thinned them down with reducer or my acrylics with water?

or can i just reduce a big bottle of paint and leave it for weeks whilst gradually using it up?

  • Sorry I don't use Auto Air paints.

  • auto-air paint reduced with 4011 reducer has a pot life of 24 hours, after that becomes jelly

  • thanks alot adi and ed you are both a very big help keep up the good work

  • I hope that it helped you out.

  • Fantastic nice videos well explained... i`m going back to air brushing just done a couple of minor things but i never got to get the right mixture for the colors or maybe i did not use the right brand to start with ... what do u like to use or what would u recommend????? thanks for the videos!!!! good work!

  • KUSTOM SHOP...........KUSTOM SHOP.........KUSTOM SHOP

That is what I use in almost every video. I also use House Of Kolor alot.

  • This looks very similar to the MOUNTAIN T shirts designs. You should send them your work, you might get a commission. I like their designs but they're not easy to find in the UK. They do a lot of wolf ones.

  • Ed, Hi ! yours seem to be the most informative airbrush vids I've seen. The one area that seems to be lacking in Youtube airbrush vids is the Real Basic "Before you start" stuff ... surface prep etc. should I use primer, or scuff the area (say, tank, or helmet etc.) or just go straight ahead with the stencils? if you have made "Prep basics" videos could you point me to them please? if not .... would you consider doing one/ some?Thank you

  • I will do one just for you. LOL

Actually we are doing one right now.

  • May I ask how much money do you make in a year doing this? haha. This looks like a fun job and a nice paying one.

  • Enough to pay my child support.LOL

  • Thats freaking awesome!! Im kind of new to airbrushing, and was wondering if you have any tips for realistic blood? I've been looking for a video on it, can't seem to find one. but im doing an exposed brain on my buddys racing helmet. and I wanted to get that transparent kind of blood look.

  • Use Kandies they are transparent.

  • Thanks Ed. These videos are very helpful too.

  • You are welcome.

  • lol i wish i had your talent and the guts to start airbrushing .. its soo expencive !! do you know if anyone offers classes ??
