Look at how his bat is the same distance from his head after his front foot fully lands and remiains there when he makes a quarter turn and shows his bellybutton toward the pitcher. Also notice how still he keeps his head while the bat head comes thru the strike zone.

@paddywackwacky, just curious, how is a 3 time american league batting champ overrated? 4 all star selections. Can you imagine how much better he would be if he converted to 1st base and wasn't catching anymore? The Nats are going to make Bryce Harper an outfielder so he can concentrate on hitting. Mauer catches and has to spend time with all his pitchers and learn how every hitter in the AL attacks the ball. If he wasn't an exceptional player he would just go play 1st.
