Okay my problem is that my cyclone thingy wont feed into my gun. instead, every time my gun stops firing paintballs I have to press the manual feeder for it to start shooting paintballs agian.this gets really irritating especially when im in a hot situation during a paintball game.Is it because i dont use c02 and compressed air instead?or is t just broken?
i got an a5 upgrade kit where all the parts were together already i put it on my gun but when i shoot the cyclone doesnt spin can someone tell me why>?? plz
@mrMCBEASTYNUGGETS - Unless you got paint inside the cylone, I doubt it. Chances are that it's just a coincidence on the timing. Follow this video, and check your valve and power tube for damage.
Talk to whoever you bought it from, they might know. Seems like your tank is low? I mean I guess the gun is fireing fine, just not cycling the hopper. You could try greasing the internals of the cyclone....kinda complicated. If you think this is happening because your CO2 is low, a 4 or more stage expansion chamber should fix it great. Plus I can get 700 shots from a 12oz CO2 tank.
i have the same problem...and what Itskragus says i dont think its right...i had 2 full tanks and it still didnt feed i think it has something to do with my CO2 maybe leaking but not sure where if you can let me know what you did to fix it!!!!
if you still have this problem can you tell where the leak is comming from? check the firing tip of the barrel, the hammer (if visible), and the actual CO2 cap
also what kind of gun do you have? i can fix almost anything on a spyder =D
i accually fix it not to long ago...i spent almost 3 hours just checking and rechecking all my seals and o-rings...i eventually found it was my remote coil...if i over close my remote...it blockes the air of accually flowing to my marker...thanks for your concern but im good now
What happens is since the A5's hopper is CO2 powered, once you get to about 1/4 of your CO2 capacity your feeder stops feeding...
Nothing really serious, at least...I think this is your problem, sounds like it... When my gun stopped shooting the first time I just about cried...mostly from the hundreds of paintballs firing at me.
There are a variety of things it can be. Check your ratchet (see my cyclone maintenance vid). After that, check to make sure you are shooting high enough pressure, then probably check your power tube for cracks, etc.
Hi, i have a tippmann a-5 and recently i was shooting it outside, it was cold outside like -2 and all of a sudden the cyclone feed stop turning. i can manually pump it but when i shoot it doesnt turn. Any ideas. I took it apart and the little hose is not jammed. I have no idea what it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chances are the cold was creating the pressure to drop....a lot. This means the cyclone doesn't have enough to operate. The cyclone is the first place you'll see a problem if pressure drops too low.
My a-5 chops my paintballs really easy i was wondering if it was the paintballs or the cyclone feed system? (I got these paintballs for free when i got the gun)
i have a question, i heard the cyclone feed system breaks easily. does it really, how long does it take for it, how much pressure does it take for it to break, why, etc?
1. No, it doesn't break "easily". It's just one of the highest stress points, and so breaks more often than most A5 parts (which is to say, RARE). Second, there's no set time or pressure. There are simply WAY TOO MANY variables to measure that. 3. I've answered "why" above :)
i have an A-5 and i've had it for a couple of months and i havent done much maintence with it besides oiling it and cleaning it in the barrel of course but not really and internal cleaning to speak of i was told by quite a few people the A-5 does not need much maitnence and i should maybe internal clean and do that sort of things one or twice a year how often do you think i should do internal cleaning and so on?
I recommend pulling the bolts and power tube out after every day of play. Run water over them, oil the o-rings, and put them back in. You won't need to take the receiver halves apart every time.
yeah i do that stuff after a game i was talking about the takeing it apart and all the bits and pieces like in your full dis assembley videos how often should i do that?
yo jack my cylone just stoped workin i think its the little metal pictured at 1.38 or the piston thing pictured at 5.00 if you could help that would be awesome
My gun will not shoot a paint ball, i just hear the sound of it firing nothing. I keep having to push the feeder manual advance lever to fire a ball and the after I fire one bullet, i try to fire again and no bullet comes out. SO I heard that i need to find the ratchet inside the cyclone feeder to see if its broken. SO how do i get to it?
also check your air system screw that comes out of the same side as the cyclone. It has a little tube thats sticking onto it. Look at the little spot where an O ring should be on the screw attatched to the tube. If there isnt an o-ring in there go to a shop and buy a new cylcone screw o-ring.
Quality-wise, they're about the same. They were, after all, designed by the same person. There are some cosmetic body differences, and no cyclone, but that's about all the changes.
I was about to break my gun down but I shot it a few times last night and inspected what I could without fully disassembling. I want to make my Flatline more accurate within 50 to 60 foot. I have a crazy spin left and right. I took it apart and its dead on the line from tippmann. Should I just sell and get a 16 inch barrel instead to gain accuracy and range?
As I say to everybody else, you need pick one: Accuracy OR Distance. If you want range, go with a flatline or Apex. If you want accuracy, go with a 14" barrel kit or a few other choice straight barrels.
There is no "better" or "best" (even made a video on that topic). Both are excellent markers, and it really only depends on if you want the cyclone feed or a regular hopper.
can you even read ? i said Tippmann are alot more reliable than smart parts guns AND ESPECIALLY compared to the sp1 . Sp8 is good but less reliable than a tippman still and way less customizable wich for many is a disadvantage. dude you really get cranked up for nothing
k sry for calling u retard but anyways tippman is way more expensive and sp8 is $300 with its E-grip. U can also put a stock on it and stealth barrels which makes it very quiet. What more do u need?
While looking down the sights, turn the hopper away from you (clockwise) slightly and pull it off. If that's not the problem, I dunno what is. Hope this helps.
Neither, actually. It's pneumatic (air-powered). The marker has a tube on the side that pumps air into the cyclone piston. This turns the paddles inside, which forces the paint into the chamber.
There is a kit to mount the Cyclone to the 98C. Comes with everything you need, including the cyclone itself. You do have to drill a small hole in the receiver half to install it, though.
Hello I have a Tippmann 98c and what a cyclone feeder and a Response Trigger; and is it necessary to get the Tippmann Banjo T Fitting? If I do how would you install it?
I am fairly certain it's necessary. I'm not 100%, since I've never owned a 98. However, a teammate of mine got the 98C Cyclone and RT, and he did have the t-fittings installed. You would probably have to call Tippmann for the parts, and refer to the manual for installation/adjustment.
Hi! I have a question! As you have a lot of experience with Tippmann markers as it looks: What marker schould I buy me, an A5 or the new X7? Oh and another question: Is it right, that the Flatline Barrel chops paint? Please answer! Thanks
On your first question, I can't answer, because I know NOTHING about your or your playing style. However, they are essentially the same marker with some slight differences. If you don't care about milsimming your marker, or adding stuff on to it, go with the A5. If you want to add sights, scopes or other such hardware, look into the X7.
For the Flatline chopping paint, this is misleading. First, it can't "chop" paint, as nothing is really cutting the paint (like scissors).
The flatline is rougher on paint, so you do need a tougher shelled paint to be effective. Most "tournament" grade paint is very thin shelled, and not really good to use in the flatline. If you tune the flatline right, and use good paint, then you'll Okay.
my friend the other day was chopping balls with his a5 he dosent have any mods or it all stock and wasnt firing fast anybody no why it was chopping msg me plz
Simply because it is one of the points that takes the most motion. Combined with the fact that friction is a vital force of its operation, breakage happens fairly often, by comparison.
Other factors include maintenance and shooting style.
Personally I'd say to go with the A5,it's more compact than the 98 and easier to dissasemble than the 98,also in my opinion, tippmans are way more tough and reliable than spiders.
i'm having problems with my e-grip... it keeps sticking in every mode except the 1st (semi auto)... i'll put it in the second (3 shot burst) and it'll stick and keep firing as if it's in full auto..... then i'll have to pull the trigger once or twice in order for it to stop...... any help would be nice.......?
ps it only sticks with the co2 in there but if it's just the trigger firing diferent modes it fires fine help please.....
program modes to the one that blinks green and orange and hold the trigger down until it stops then pull the trigger down it will flash red 1 flash is semi 2 flashs is (3 trigger pulls then it will go into go 3 round burst) and 3 is (3 trigger pulls then full auto) when you come to the amount trigger pulls you stop then it should blink orange and green in a rapid succesion to let you know that it has conformed fire mode programing
you have to program the fire modes into it first make sure there is no co2 hooked up and then hold the trigger down and turn it on and then let off watch the light pull the trigger down to cycle through the
quick question, just got my a-5 egrip in, how do i change firing modes, i dont see a button anywhere, i think they might have shipped me the wrong one....any ideas?
Most of the egrips that I'm aware of (I don't own one) have a small hole in the front of the grip, where your fingers go. To program it, you need a small screwdriver or thin rod to push in there. Check out tippmann's website to find their instructions.
that rele helped me cause i baught an used a-5 at the local proshop[it was cheaper than a new 1 and it has a sniper barrel]and it didnt come with the instructions
Nice vid. I would say for future videos maybe you a desk light for spotlighting or go outside. Also get a friend to record or when you get to the more detail parts, bring your hand to the camera...but good vid
I do not (yet) have a lightening rod on the way. I will, however, soon have the vortex. I am waiting on SpecOps to get rid of the backorder status. I may cancel and order direct from TechT. As soon as I have it, I will post the new vid.
Just wanderin lol if the button (on off thing if thats what it is) just stays in and dosnt click what did i do and idk when its off and on lol some1 help me please and is the a5 just like the attachable 98c one?? please comment

i'm having problems with my e-grip... it keeps sticking in every mode except the 1st (semi auto)... i'll put it in the second (3 shot burst) and it'll stick and keep firing as if it's in full auto..... then i'll have to pull the trigger once or twice in order for it to stop...... any help would be nice.......?
ps it only sticks with the co2 in there but if it's just the trigger firing diferent modes it fires fine help please.....

i had no clue u could even disassemble the cyclone feed..what can happen if u dont maintain ur cyclone feed?
because usually i dont really take it apart and stuff i just wipe the paint off it and wash it down along with the gun and apply oil where its needed
is it bad if i dont maintain the cyclone?

program modes to the one that blinks green and orange and hold the trigger down until it stops then pull the trigger down it will flash red 1 flash is semi 2 flashs is (3 trigger pulls then it will go into go 3 round burst) and 3 is (3 trigger pulls then full auto) when you come to the amount trigger pulls you stop then it should blink orange and green in a rapid succesion to let you know that it has conformed fire mode programing

Thanks a ton, MCPOAJ.

you have to program the fire modes into it first make sure there is no co2 hooked up and then hold the trigger down and turn it on and then let off watch the light pull the trigger down to cycle through the

quick question, just got my a-5 egrip in, how do i change firing modes, i dont see a button anywhere, i think they might have shipped me the wrong one....any ideas?
thx

Most of the egrips that I'm aware of (I don't own one) have a small hole in the front of the grip, where your fingers go. To program it, you need a small screwdriver or thin rod to push in there. Check out tippmann's website to find their instructions.

it works on a SPYDER MR1

can u put a cyclone on a bt4 combat?
jordan2002100 4 years ago
Unfortunately, no. The receivers are not cut for it, nor can they be without destroying them.

how does the a5 compare to the x7? i'm picking a first gun. should i start with a mediocre spyder or just dive into a tippmann.

Awesome but if you have a vortex and lightening rod mod can you give us a video tutorial for that >,<

It sounds like you didn't put the wire spring back into place, or (more likely) the piston spring is not in the piston tube.
