An experienced TKD fighter with decent counters should have been able to balance the fight. Only a novice leads in with dweet-chagi. It is most effective as a counter and used properly should have balanced the match. In Tkd, students are trained to use devastating power with unmatched speed, and surgical accuracy. However, it is always on the fighters. The fighter wins the fight, not his style. But, everybody has there off days too. To both fighters, RESPECT.

Traditional Tae Kwon Do is very effective but it is now rare to find real hard Korean Masters to learn from. I know a 65yr old Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do Master who would put this Thai fighter down within 5 seconds. Seems like they look for poor opponents for these exhibitions to pump up a particular style. No, I am not biased - I teach both Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai.

Muay Thai , martial arts of our country has many of strong movements

elbow slash , knee attack , low kick or middle kick

, but still has the fatal weak point to any fast & destructive " straight line " attacks

a match is still dependent on a martial art because their trained to react differently in different situations. muay thai fighters usually own fighters of tkd, karate and kung fu. they are taught differently. look closely and notice the tkd fighter fights with his hands down. they aren't used to these situations as the muay thai fighter is. If it was fought by tkd sparring rules, the muay thai fighter would get owned

taekwondo's movement is just slow when it comes to kicking but they are powerful, they need to be in a spot where they have the range to kick.. the only problem though is that when they kick, their leg stays up in the air which its hard for them to move quickly and makes it easier to catch and grab their legs

For Thai fighting too. We deducted many things to make it a sport. The part of bone crushing, joints taring and using of fingers to press nerves are not allowed for sport. Those Thai who know those techniques have to learn them respectfully as a martial arts only.
