  • I am Justified in loving Kahrs...

  • i've had shit come back and hit me, however it was from someone who was shooting in the lane next to me and it was a .22lr pistol.

  • Go to frangible ammo!!! I would not be risking my hide With a poorly designed catch area. Frangible ammo will fix all ur probs tho-and the ranges. It's a liability for sure.

  • The pieces flying back is just a range issue...see if your range has a rule against rapid fire...if so then try to find a new range. I have been shooting at a new indoor range that is made for full auto weapons and rifles and have 0 flybacks...just an fyi

  • I've been carrying the CW9 for a year now and the only thing I miss is my G19 capacity. I carry an extra mag in all my vehicles. I changed the sights to trijicon night sight and I replaceds the guide rod. Also I stippled the grip myself. Good video guys

  • @jstu45 Thank you for watching!

  • Painful....Really? Holding it was painful? Come on. I understand that it may not be comfortable....but painful? Poor choice of words?

  • @ashworth1025 I was expressing my opinion and experience with this particular firearm. I stand behind my choice of words and believe that it was painful to shoot. The polymer frame has very sharp edgeds on the back strap that would dig into your hand once the gun was fired. The A-Grip has resoloved the issue. Poor comment on your part?

  • @ashworth1025 I've seen the same comment from others as well. Take the man at his word.

  • Thought you said some have problems even though we haven't I said the possibility of problems goes down when the quality goes up.

    I love my Kahr CM9

  • @TR5T The possibility of problems "should" go down but in Kahrs case I have found more issues with their "expensive or higher end" models as apposed to their "lower end(CM)" guns. This experience has been reinforced over and over again with their P380. I can apply the same priciple to my Kimber. For the price and so called "quailty" i should not experience any issues but my Kimber Crimson Carry has given me more problems than my less expensive Springfield.

  • @edgedweapon88 When you mentioned a P380 I falsely assumed it to be a Walther or some such. Sorry.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

I did my research before I purchased the CW9 and 99% was favourable. And mine is superb.

    Go figure.

I have always held Kahr, Kimber Colt, SW, Glock,Springfield up as being the best for the money. Shame when it turns out poorly.

  • @TR5T No problem. I did the same thing with my CW9 and I have been extremely impressed with it. By far one of my favorite firearms for CCW. For that reason I was very dissapointed when I had so many problems from a higher priced and supposedly better built firearm from Kahr. I also hold springfield, Glock, S&W, and Colt to higher standards and so far they have not let me down.

  • Don't even bother with the reports of FTF or other FTE , I passed 200 rounds down the tube. It ran like hot butter.

    Sweet machine.

  • @TR5T Everyone has a different experience with their firearms. Just because you didnt have any problem doest discount the fact that others might.

  • @edgedweapon88 I have owned several weapons of several makers, including the "bottom feeders" as people see them, Taurus, Rossi etc.

The weapon that comes out of a random lot gets loaded and fires without a hitch speaks volumes.

All machines of any grade do have problems but they tend to slim down as the quality goes up.

The Kahr is fantastic, nowhere near a Kel Tech but close to my Glock, people even complain of problems with them. You pays yer money and you takes yer ( researched) chances.

  • @TR5T I dont even see how this applies to this video. My CW9 has run perfectly and I love it. I have had many issues with my P380 and there are plenty of other videos out there to show it is more than just a minor problem.

  • where can you get this grip very nice thanks

  • @MrWeb49 i ordered it from Kahr directly.

  • Keelen, are you still carrying this? How do you like the laser? I am thinking of buying a Kahr pistol. Are you still happy with it? I'm considering this or the CM9.

  • @guitarmikey2 Yes the CW9 is still one of my daily carries. I carry the CW9 when I am out a about for an entire day and i carry my P380 when I run to the store or if I am driving long distance. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about my CW9. It has never malfunctioned and it is very accurate. The laser is a great addition and it is one feature I like to have with a carry firearm. The CM9 is a great option and I would like to get one eventually. Smaller and easier to conceal!

  • Love ths song!! still can't decide between cm9 and cw9...

  • @flexx1987 I would go with the CM9. More compact and easier to conceal.

  • The backstops at the range are wearing out, don't go there

  • @nutnpretty We do not use that range anymore.

  • What laser do you think is better the one you have or a rear sight laser?

  • @fatboy3992 Personally, the crimson trace I think is better. It has an instinctive activation switch that turns on when you grip the firearm so that there is not an extra step.

  • Do you know if there are any other lasers avalible for the cw9

  • @fatboy3992 Not that I am aware of but I am sure you can find them,

  • Damn son you have some long ass spider fingers! lol nice video tho and great looking Kahr

  • Can you make a video about how all your mags fit into your gun please i want to buy some 8 round mags but i cant find a video on how they look and fit into a cw9

  • Can you make a video about how all your mags fit in you gun i wana buy some of the 8 round but i wana see how it is in the gun so can you please make a video showing how they all fit in you gun

  • I think anyone with soft hands will have some discomfort after going shooting. You are taking part of the impact of an explosion on your hand over and over...

  • What is it you have around your grip? I like it.

  • @FranklinFirstPastor It is called A-Grip.

  • ur a lucky dude. i wish my chick would shoot with me. would def be nice to have that piece of mind that she can defend herself if need be. even after our son was born she refused :-( anyways nice choice for a ccw i have a pf9 but im thinking of buying this one too jus because lol

  • @BDBakaJR I got very lucky. Only thing that worries me is that she shoots better than I do! I love my cw9 and would highly recommend one if your interested. Kahr also has the CM9 now which is the little brother.

  • @BDBakaJR same thing with my wife...i gave her my bersa 380..she shot it once..then i sold it..tried to offer her a ruger sr9c..no feedback idk man..smh

  • I finally got my CW9 and it shoots and carries very well. It replaced my PF9 as my CCW. I hope you are having better luck with your p380.

  • Let me know how the p380 shoots after you lubricate it very well. I put the A grip on my p380 also and it feels great on that little gun. If you go to the Kahr forum website they show you the 10 spots to lubricate the p380.

  • So far my p380 is eating everything I feed it. Kahrs love lots of oil so thats what I did and it works really good.

  • @teammazza I put very little oil on my CW9 and it has worked perfectly but I will try and over lubricate my P380 and see if that solves the problem. Thanks for the help.

  • @edgedweapon88 damn, that is dangerous..... That range is kind of small and short. Good thing your gal came out good.

  • @runhorun What is dangerous? The range is roughly 20 yards which is sufficient for what we are doing.

  • @runhorun if you are having peices of shrapnel comin back at you.... its not good. Good thing you have not eye protection. I Imagine the peices coming back and hitting you sting.

  • Finally shot my p380 and after a 100 rds it shot like a dream. My next gun is the cw9, I saw its your edc. The cw9 will probably be my edc and the 380 will be my BUG. Thanks for all the videos.

  • @teammazza I am glad you P380 is working. I am not having the same luck. What ammunition are you running through your P380?

  • Great song.

  • @teammazza Thanks.

  • I just got the p380 and I saw all your problems I hope mine is okay. Im going to get the CW9 next.

  • @teammazza Let me know how it goes once you fire it.

  • I just bought the CW9 because of your reviews. Where do you buy the extra mags from?

  • @MrDonutboi I am glad I could help. I hope you enjoy your new CW9. I got my extra mags from The Gun Source but you can also get them directly from Kahr.

  • Hey Keelen, I have owned this handgun for over a year, and thought I had a nice niche with this pistol. I have not done a vid just because I don't want to put out there my publicity with owning this pistol. I have not had any failure to feeds, nor any issues with the magazines. I have totally felt like I have "cheated" on Glock by owning this handgun, but I think Glock has nothing over the slender width of the CW9. I am glad to see more vids about this gun, especially from a shooter like you!

  • @barefoot130 I agree it is a fantastic little shooter and CCW option. Glock is lacking in the CCW market IMO so this little car really fits the bill for those of us that like the Glock platform but need something a bit slimmer. Thank you for watching and I appreciate your support.

  • I'm a lefty also, and since your g/f did mention about kahr telling users to use the slide lock, have you tried slingshoting the slide or does that also cause the the gun to not go into battery?

  • @vash241987 Kahr recommends using the slide lock to chamber a round and I have not had one malfunction when using that method. My girlfriend and I have used the slingshot method a couple times with mixed results. Some times if you do it really fast it will chamber and other times it will not work if it was too slow.

  • @edgedweapon88 thanks...I just heard that sometimes is does not go into battery, but I guess if you let go slowly that could be it.

  • @vash241987 Yes that is true. Kahrs are known to be very tight firearms and they do not like it when you walk a round into the chamber. They work best when the user drops the slide release because it is the most efficient way to get the proper speed and force for the round to chamber. They are very unlike a Glock where you can close the slide as slowly as you want and it will chamber.

  • That chunk of lead is just that- a HUGE chunk if lead! What u experienced was called a ricochet! Y'all are lucky! What I don't get is why that range owner hasn't installed some large foam blocks at the top and bottom of the ramp director. His concrete is angled properly to direct the projectile towards the bullet trap, but he really must get some large foam blocks.

  • @cjeffe007 Yes they need something to prevent large pieces of lead from coming back like that. I wont be visiting that range again. Thanks for watching.

  • nice vid the cw9 is my edc have probaly 1500 rounds and no problems after break in with mine. Not the most enjoyable gun to shoot but very nice size and weight compared to my 1911s.

  • @gatorfred8 The CW9 is now my carry gun also. Great firearm for the money!

  • what was the name of the grip you added(not the crimson trace grip)?

  • @Shellshock1918 Its called A-Grip

  • that's a good looking pistol. i've never had a problem with debris coming back at me, but if i thought it was happening because the range was too short then i'd get the hell out of there. know what i mean. at around 7:04+ it was looking like your girl was trying to aim for the crotch, lol. i'm really glad to hear she's okay. that was a huge chunk & it could have really done some damage.

  • @INFIDELxSTRONG Yea we wont be going back to that range again. She likes aiming for the crotch area for some reason! Thanks for watching.

  • awesome vid man! I really like the cw9 I am seriously thinking to get it. it is nice to see that your girlfriend shares the same passion. I went this Saturday with my wife and she shot for the first time and she loved it.

  • @paperas24 Thanks so much my friend. I am glad to hear that both you and your wife enjoy shooting. You should make a range video some time! Thanks for watching.

  • Looks like an awesome lil pistol, brother. I can't wait to shoot it!!! :) Great range report and breakdown of the info. Nice to see you chiming in as well, Hillary!! Great choice on using the "Justified" theme song!!!

  • @MrJimbofox I cant wait to see what you think of it. Thanks for watching Jimbo.

  • why are you replacing the glock 27 for edc??? Sorry if you said why somewhere and I missed it......

  • @PinkMist88 To be honest I just want to switch it up and try something new. I love my G27 and I will continue to carry it from time to time. My G27 is a little thick when I carry IWB so that is why I am going to be using my Kahr for IWB. When I decide to carry OWB I will most likely carry my G27.

  • when ever i go to ranges with deflecters or smooth slanted back stops i get the metal jacket flying back at me mever chunks that big though.

  • @fumanmark973 Thanks for watching!

  • Very nice range report. Looks like the gun is a little snappy. Good to hear the CW9 is running excellent for you. I might have to look into this one as a EDC gun.

  • @chanderson1 It does look a little snappy in the video but to be honest I couldn't tell when I was shooting it. It almost felt a little smoother than my SR9C. Thanks for watching my friend.

  • Glad your GF is ok!

That why you ALWAYS wear eye protection, it would have sucked real bad to be hit in the eye with that shrapnel. That's a good reminder for safety.

It always nice to see a couple shooting and have the opinion of a female shooter.

Good job to both of you.

  • @JoeDurobot Safety First! Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support.

  • The old range I used to go to peices flew back all the time. At one point I got hit straight in the chest with a peice a little bit smaller than that but enough to cut through two shirts and make me bleed for a bit. Stopped going to that range and havn't had it happen yet at the new one. Great vid!

  • @RugerFanRyan Yea it is no fun. We decided we are not going back to that range anymore. Thanks for watching.

  • I've never shot a gun,I'm only 13 but it looks fun

  • @brownbear696969 It is a lot of fun. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for including me in your video! Can't wait to shoot your CW9 again. Great song!! Thanks for sharing.

  • @LiveLoveTry Anytime! Thanks for coming along!

  • I had a piece about that size hit me in the face off of a .45.

  • @75SilentWarrior Ouch. I hope you didn't get hurt. Thanks for watching.

  • @macfin88 I got the Agrip directly from Kahr. It was the best price I could find and I knew it would fit my CW9. I looked at a couple other places online but they did not specify that it would fit perfectly on the Kahr.

  • it looks soo lumpy

  • @daltonreyes9087 I think Glocks look much more "lumpy" than the Kahr but to each their own. Thanks for watching.

  • @edgedweapon88 nooo man i mean like the grip and that laser is just shaped weird it looks like the gun is made of play-do lol no offense im sure its a good gun ive heard good thing about them but it looks weird to me i luv the way glocks look if u make the grip on ur un stock and remove that rediculous laser it would look good or maybe put a different laser on idk just talkin

  • @daltonreyes9087 I sure hope a $200 Crimson Trace laser is not ridiculous. They make some of the best high quality lasers on the market. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for watching.

  • I don't know alot when it comes to guns(knife guy) so if you don't mind me asking, how does the slide release and it not locking back relate to the magazines?

  • @TiMMaH090 I to was wondering that. I'm not really a gun guy either I own quite a few knives but will be getting into guns soon it's just really damn hard in Canada and knives are still difficult but easier to carry than guns

  • @TiMMaH090 Most semi automatic handguns are designed to lock the slide back on the last round. This is achieved by the magazine follower pushing up a lever inside of the frame that engages the slide lock when the magazine is empty. When there is still a round in the magazine the follower is not up far enough to make contact with the lever and lock the slide back. Does that answer your question? Thanks for watching.

  • @edgedweapon88 Yes it does. Thank you for the response and video.

  • Lol I don't know both the kahrs and the glocks look pretty blocky. But glad to see the new purchase.

  • @e1ghtys1x They are both "blocky" designs but when you hold a Glock up against a Kahr you can see the differences. I will make a video in the future showing how much of a difference there is. Thanks for watching.

  • Keelen, generally if you're shooting at less than 10 yards or so you need to shoot frangible ammo and that'll keep the large chunks of lead from flying back at you. Just curious, why are you replacing the G27 with the Kahr?

  • @PRSpl4yer The target(paper) was at 7 yards but the steel backdrop was at 25 yards in the indoor range. The fragment was from the guy one lane over shooting .357 mag... I should have mentioned that in the video. I am just switching it up a little. My G27 is an outstanding gun and I have used it for CCW ever since I got my permit. I wanted something a little thinner for IWB carry and I also wanted to try 9mm as my carry round. During the winter I usually Open Carry with my G27.

  • @PRSpl4yer Now that it is getting warmer I want to transition back to IWB and I have always disliked how thick my G27 is with IWB carry. Right now I am thinking of using my G27 whenever I open carry and my CW9 when ever I conceal. I wont ever get rid of my Glocks but I like to try something new every so often!!

  • @edgedweapon88 Gotcha. Not much you can do about other people at the range, tho if he was shooing a .357 he probably should have been shooting frangible rounds if the backstop is steel at 25 yards. Still, not much you can do about it I'm afraid. I think that Kahr will be a decent little CCW for you, congrats on the purchase. I'm still trying to pick out a concealed pistol, tho I like the look of the P2000 in .357 Sig.

  • Very nice, it seems like most problems are just break in period defects. The shrapnel is very scary, i would have talked to the range master/owner about it.

  • @SocomElite187 I mentioned it to the gentlemen running the range and he didn't seem to care much. I wont be going back to that particular range again. Thanks for watching man.

  • Great video Keelen! I can't wait to get into pistols when i turn 21! I'll just have to stick to shotguns and rifles for now. I always love to see your opinions on this stuff, especially when it is in the breaking-in period. Thanks for sharing, buddy!

  • @bigbubba5037 Thanks for watching my friend. Once you are able to own a handgun it will open up a whole new world! I love them but it sure does leave a hole in my wallet!! I appreciate you stopping by.

  • I had a large piece of the jacket of a .45 ACP come back and hit me in the shoulder. For the first time I was shooting an Auto-Ordinance .45 Tommy Gun Pistol from the hip. At 25 feet I made a mistake of where to hold it and hit the armored top of the rod where the target assembly attaches to the rail. It felt like a college buddy sneaking up and giving me a punch in the upper arm. No injury though.

For guns with sharply checkered or rough grips, I use shooting gloves with half fingers.

  • @trime1851 I don't like to shoot with gloves because on a daily basis I typically don't wear any. I like to practice the way I am most likely to use the firearm if I need it when CCWing. Thanks for your input and I appreciate you watching.

  • @edgedweapon88 The couple of large handguns I use gloves with are primarily "range guns". For self-defense a couple of rounds won't hurt much. If you are hurting your hand at the range, it will change your natural shooting, Maybe using gloves for the first part of your shooting to save your hand, then no gloves for a couple of clips at the end is a good idea?

  • @trime1851 The way I have my CW9 set up now with the Agrip it does not hurt my hand. It was irritating my girlfriends had a bit but not mine. I mentioned in the video that it was very uncomfortable before I put the Agrip on but now it is very comfortable and it shoots great. If I have to wear gloves to make any gun comfortable to shoot i most likely wont keep it. If its not comfortable/fun to shoot it isn't worth keeping IMO. Thanks again for the input.

  • I FUCKING LOVE JUSTIFIED another cool vid from edgeweapon! :)

  • @xr3verendx I agree. Justified is awesome!

  • you should virtually never have "shrapnel" flying back at you at the range. It sounds like it may be the layout--or engineering of the range itself. How far away was your girlfriend shooting when it flew back and hit her in the chest?

    thanks!

  • @k1111117 We were behind the bench (farthest possible spot while in the designated shooting lane) which is about 25 yards back from the backdrop. My girlfriend was preparing to shoot when the piece of projectile came back and hit her. We think it came from the guy shooting a .357 Mag one lane over.

  • Good music man - Justified all the way, even over here in the UK.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Thanks man. Justified is a great show!

  • Nice gun, I like the grip. Good job on the vid, keep them coming

  • @chandlerhomes Thank you very much. The grip is a great addition. Thanks for watching.

  • I'v been watching your videos for a while and I have to say they deserve more views. Keep up the good work.

  • @gottschlichmatthew I appreciate your support. Thanks for watching.
