Thank you apparently having THE ONLY VIDEO WITH THE ORIGINAL SONG. I've heard three other versions (and other singers) that ruin the song) and it was soo friggen irritating. So, thank you again for the perfect version of the song.
These are opinions. Some prefer this version, and others prefer the writer's (Kate Bush) version. They are so disparate, that it is difficult to compare them to one another. I like both versions, because they both represent something different to me. I first heard Kate's version near the end of one of my favorite John Hughes' movies, "She's having a Baby", and first heard Maxwell's version while in the hospital, recovering from a hysterectomy, realizing I was never going to have another baby.
I Swear If You Have Never Seen Anybody Feel A Song As Much As I Feel This Song..I Cry Everytime i hear This Song..I Think Of People I Lost To The Gravy,,Streets, Jail And It Really Hits Home, One Person I Will Not Lost..i Refuse To Lose My BF
im crying right now cause my gf that i love so much and i wanna be with her forever just started having anxiety a week ago and shes just so different i feel like shes trying to let me go and i wish we never did that extacy :"""""""""""(

"It didn't bring tears to my eyes or anything. I just have a high standard for singing. I think it should be perfectly executed and this version is."
Fact: Kate Bush's three or four octave range makes her a better singer than Maxwell.
Fact: There is much more raw emotion in Kate Bush's version than there is in Maxwell's. Your standards for singing are NOT high because you mistake phony R&B affectation for emotion. If you can't hear the emotion in Kate's original you have a tin ear.
hello there bullshit, let me tell you something, u dont come in here telling (us) of what you consider to be fact and expect us to consider your analysis a fact just as you didnt consider what you considered (our) opinions non-factual, you are rude and disrespectful the mere notion of a person opposed to your beliefs are assinine and insulting. doesnt matter if a person has 50 octave range doesnt make them a great singer ok, and as far as standards u dont base that on opinion asshole ! :O

Listen here, nimrod, I go where I want I and say what I want, and if you want to try to tell me otherwise then plane ticket and address upon request.
R&B is for low-class trash like you who don't know how to spell "you" properly, obviously. Maxwell might have good taste in music, but he doesn't have enough talent to perform anywhere else but a shitty genre like R&B. Falsettos and other affectations are no substitute for talent.
I think both are high standard of singing but you may of corse disagree there.
Maybe you're right and I should have kept quiet in the first place.
I just found the little mistake that I have mentioned and wanted the maker to notice it so i wrote a comment. This though made me feel like I should say sth about the song itsself as well...
I don't really want to argue about this because this is basically a question of personal taste.
I'm not saying that the Macwell Version is bad or anything, I just prefer the other one. You are right that there is a lot of feeling in this version but I think that you can also feel the pain in Kates version allthough it is not that present... Maybe it's just that I prefer Kates voice and don't really like the voice in the Maxwell version. I think kate sings beautifully but that's just my opinion
Like the song allthough i prefer the Kate Bush Version. Thanks for the lyrics.
You've made a small mistake though: In the beginning you've written This women's worth but it actually says This women's work as in the songtitle. But good job apart from that.
its this persons opinion. they were being nice about the whole thing why is everyone freaking and downing the comment. appreciate music and get over it.
Kate Bush does deserve the credit for the actual song but maxwell is not the first person to redo a song plus he did a beautiful job on this on and i can listen to it over and over
It's just one of those songs that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up... regardless of who sings it the words are really powerful. But my personal favourite is Maxwell
I guess it depends on what your musical preferences are. I feel that Maxwell blew this song out of the water, but we owe Kate Bush the credit to writing/producing the original. Sometimes the original versions aren't the best; this cover of the song proves it.
I like Kate Bush a lot but some of her fans are boring to always mention that it's her song, as if nobody knows, and that her version is the best one, you just should be happy that Kate's music is an inspiration for others artists.
I'm a big Maxwell fan, so I appreciate you showing him some love on YouTube. My only fault, but don't take it personal, is that in spots your text didn't match up with the sung lyrics and typographical errors, too. Please check before submitting that everything is straight with your text. All in Maxwell love. Peace
