  • if penguins made movies..... this would be their main horror film

  • cute penguins.. but thats how an ecosystem goes...

  • mmm chicken of the sea

  • omg how big is that leopardseal

  • holllyyyy shiitttt i have been looking dor this forever this is one of the greatest wildlife specials I have ever seen in my childhood and it still is :)

  • mumble!!!!!!!!!

  • seal has terrible aim

  • brutal naure

  • noooooooooooo!!!!!!! i love penguins fuck you whow ever made this ;[

  • i love how the seal has a constant "fuck you"/"sinister" look about him/her :P <3

  • Never knew seals were that much bigger than penguins.

  • @ArrancarChi not just seals, leopard seals.

  • the penguins swim like flailing seals.

  • interesting but poor pengin :'( but i more like seal :D

  • We need some orcas, much them seals to smitherines

  • unless the seals and other predators hunt these animals for survival a whole food chain would collapse ,

also the way they hunt and eat is astonishing , they leave just the skin with feet , flippers n beak attached , they shake the penguin out of its skin literally.

  • just watched this in my grade 6 class and i felt nausea yes we watched all 5 eps

  • Surprisingly tender! Would eat again!

  • predator born to kill

  • looks like a normal seal on steroids, my god it's huge ! Try clubbing this animals cubs.

  • Awesome..leopard seals are incredible!

  • It makes you want to kill leopard seals for eating to survive? Umm... I think you should see a therapist..

  • How about i eat you to survive >.>

  • If you had nothing else to eat (if we were in lost etc) then that would be acceptable. We'd both be trying to kill the other person for food to survive. I don't feel the need to kill you because you have other people kill things for you to survive. See the difference?

  • So...is that a yes on me eating you? lol

  • Yes, If you needed to just to survive if only you and i were trapped somewhere. But i would by trying to eat you too if necessary!

  • Ugh! You sick son of a bitch! Get help! lol. well tbh we could eat each other...or if we are in a position we have to think about eating each other...then eating you would only mean i die...maybe 2 days later?

  • Exactly, unless somehow you found some other source of food, or found a way back to civilization.

  • well if we were that screwed i'd kill you, then commit suicide, so i die, but i also get the satisfaction of knowing you wont be eating me.

  • Lol

  • animals don't eat ONLY to survive. It's a dumb vegan myth.

Animals will eat, over-eat, kill for joy etc if they have an opportunity (like significant ammounts of food)

    I'm speaking about predators here

(though you can add herbivores like elephants who sometimes destroy alot jsut to get to a bit tasteir plant or lief)

  • I know, Many animals enjoy playing with their food; Like my cat for example. She'll slaughter lizards and not even eat them. or maybe just chew on them a little.

  • it are nice

  • i like meow mix (cat food)

  • It's interesting to read comments that are saying that the seal is evil, etc. He is hungry. Nobody is going to feed him, if he will not hunt. He sees food in the penguins, not a cute bird. Also, those who are feeling sorry for the penguin have probably just had a great chicken dinner. Have you ever seen how cute the little chicks are? Still, we eat them every day. Don't be a hypocrat! -Unless you're a total vegetarian, of course.-

  • Haha I know- it's not like the seal can go and pop to the nearest KFC.

Nature has done this for thousands of years; it's not going to stop just because some people are upset by the fact that a "cute" and "cuddly" creature is being hunted and eaten by a hungry carnivore.

  • They're just ignorant to the reality of life.

  • Totally so, the seal is just doing what it does and what it needs to do to survive.

  • Even being total vegetarian would not save people being hypocrite in this case. It is up to humans to choose whether to eat meat or not since we manufactured alternatives etc. Animals eat what are programmed to . Penguins also eat those little "cutey" fishes. Some people are on high dose of sensuality.

  • I'm vegetarian yet I find this strangely mesmerising to watch-go figure! It's just nature at the end of the day-cruel but beautiful.

  • Well one could argue that it's "evil" to drag out the kill for twenty minutes instead of just finishing it quickly. But yeah, of course all animals need to eat and penguins themselves feed on other animals as well.

  • @kjhuang

You can't argue that animals are "evil" because animals are incapable of such awareness or understanding their actions.

Also, big animals tend to toss around their kills because it tires them out. They end up tired and easy to eat (read: dead), as opposed to spastic and full of "pep" (read: alive).

At least you're not as silly as GaborNYC :D

  • @sliver321123 I thought the seal was still tossing around the penguin after it was already tired and easy to eat. But yeah, you're right.

  • @GaborNYC As a gardener I have to say that the vegetarians are hypocrits too. For the most part plants go to an amazing amount of effort not to be eaten. Yet vegetarians completely ignore this kill or be killed aspect of nature. Maybe if they could hear a plant scream when it was chopped off at the roots they would just eat themselves or each other and stop bothering the rest of us.

  • @divorcedme Yes, I also read an article about how clever plants are at defense. Well, we have to eat something, whether it's plant or meat-based food products. However, if we already eat meat,-those of us who do- we'd have to work on slaughterhouse reform. I've seen some of those hidden camera movies too, and there is definitely room for improvement there.

  • @GaborNYC As an ape with omniverous dentition I have to agree, food is food.

If it tastes good it's for the chop.

I also agree that as a species which alledgedly prides itself on it's humanity it wouldn't hurt us to show the animals we consume a little more of that.

A little kindness before the kill would probably make them taste better too.

  • @GaborNYC yeh but the reason people identify the seal as being evil is the way that the seal likes plays with them first, rather than just swiftly killing it as they could.

  • @GaborNYC i absolutely agree with you, but you still got to mention the fact that THEY ARE SOOOOOOOO CUTE!!! :3

  • @GaborNYC xd

  • @GaborNYC like when people eat eggs? the same just more disgusting when you think about it. and its "hypocrite" not hypocrat :)

  • DIE penguins DIE...!!

  • i think it would be a little harder to be a sea carnevore since your paray could sink to the point you cant get it

  • hes not killing hes hunting people kill but he is only a bit hungry

  • im lucky to be human...

  • leopard selas are ginormous!!

  • ha thats awsome

  • Everythiing sucks.

  • Its all done in the name of survival. I wouldn't think you could get to close to either of those animals without being bit. Who knows penguin mite taste like chicken. great video

  • sweeet

  • I love leopard seals- but I hate the fact that they eat penguins (does that make sense?). Just like I love cheetahs but I wish they didn't have to eat other animals to live. Oh well, guess we'll have to convert them all to eating tofu! XD What? It could work!

  • No but is worth a try IMO Lol.

  • predators are beutiful precicly because they aren't herbivores. their diet forces them to get the shape you like and because their food actually requires some skill to attain, they are usually amongst the smartest animals we encounter, which makes them easier to identify with. besides, natures is rough, try to enjoy it's savage beauty istead of disneyfying it. you people seriously want to censor nature? if you truly liked nature, you'd say he hunts beutifully

  • I was being sarcastic mate.

  • Poor penguins

  • Thank you for sharing this awesome vid, with my hero David Attenborough:)

  • Who are all these people who keep saying they love these enormous predators on youtube!? I would say a 10ft razor mawed creature was awe inspring or terrifying- not loveable ;)

  • yeah, they're not lovable but they're so intriguing. They look almost reptilian.

  • I find them to be both impressive and fascinating myself.

  • love attenborough and all of his fascinating films, thx for posting :)

  • i feel soooooooooooo sorry 4 the baby and i love leopard but i hope that won get eaten because it can't pick on and adult one lol

  • Its like watching a horror movie.

  • Brutal but necessary process, breathtaking!

  • Viva El Salvador!!!

  • Looks like things didn't work out any better for you!

  • learn how to spell cunt.what does soem mean.

  • some is one syllable genius

  • @CassieDynomite omg that's hilarious. it's one syllable.

  • what a ignorant thing to say, this is a very old film....have you not seen blue planet or any of the newer series...some of the greatest film-making ever seen...in fact half of the US documentaries are actually scenes film and bought from British documentaries!! get a clue mate!!

  • I have heard a few americans say in the past that they find british people a bit intimidating. Possibly cos of the much stereotyped snobby english person their condescending tone and superior stance. So i guess i understand your xenophobic response, if you feel inferior. I'm going to refrain from pointing out the many ways the UK is superior to the US but as I always prefer to take the moral high ground in pathetic arguments like this.

  • lol nice that was a crazy comebak gwfcno, britain is a lot better than US in many issues but thats only cuz of bush

  • 1)Sit-com were 80's TV

2)Last time I checked fish and chips wasn't healthy at all

    3) That isn't a good arguement from either people

    4)Who cares?

  • 1) You have numerous grammatical errors.

    2) 'Nuff said.

  • grow up little bitches

  • Gotta love David Attenborough. He and George Page must have done a million of these great shows each.

  • you know leopard seals have attackd humans before and killed one

  • they have kiddle loads of humans

  • actually just one human has been killed on record, a young lady who was studying them and was drowned by one a few years ago

  • The Leopard Seal is the scariest, meanest, and slowest eating animal IN THE WOOOOOORRRRRLLLLLDDDD!!!!

  • zedamasio u fukin loser

  • He's right you freaking idiot. Ancient cavemen ate their food raw, which is why HUMANS can eat both raw and cooked food. Learn your history you ignorant bastard.

  • i'd enjoy watching you eat a raw chicken... idiot

  • jesus i took its time

  • The nature's brutality. That's the way it is. I am a vegetarian now, but until I could have this choice my ancestors had to survive being carnivores for millions of years.

  • Nature red in tooth and claw.

  • ORLY?

  • its me afterthispinished ive changed my account and id just like ot say poor puinguins

  • well life in the antartica is never easy for a penguin and thats how it is so it aint no happy feet

  • i've seen this in my dvd movie

  • damn lepard seals making it hard for penguins when they go on adventures

  • Well nature isn't exactly a Disney film, you know.

Having said that, videos like these makes me feel extremely uncomfortable. Just because something is natural that doesn't mean you have to like it. :)

  • O noez poor penguin!

    xD

  • O.O
