He seems to be right handed, yet has a stronger left hand. That's rare. I don't know why he doesn't just use french grip + finger motion on the right hand as well, it seems much more efficient than what he's using now ;)
Either way: He blasts 99% of us drummers out of the ballpark, haha, CRAZYYYYY
You know always when I saw flying fingers technique its like.. nearly all moving out the hand but a bit still coming from the arms.. this is just 100% fingers.. its perfect its sick.. guy you rock
If you insist on using triggers, please, for the love of all that is good, don't forget that you are in fact playing a BASS drum. You are not playing your belly with you palms.
wow, you really are fucking retarded... he's very close to how george is playing, in fact i doubt anyone else could come as close to how george plays it as jan does... i'm sure he shits all over your drumming skills, if you even play that is...
Awesome finger technique. He is using moeller grip with his right hand for sure........ if you think this is fast check out Derrick pope. 13:03 in the video amazing speed!
This is one of the cleanest finger-control blast practices I've ever seen. He truly masters finger control, no halfway wannabe weirdass trick motion shit, THE REAL DEAL.
His left hand even seems to be stronger than his right (leading) hand, which is quite uncommon. He's cleaned it all up in the 2010 video's though. ACE
yeah, I love that. I think on the left hand he uses the "normal" flying finger technique and on the right hand he uses the "moeller technique".
I´m not sure, but I think the "moeller technique" is pretty hard to learn, even harder then flying finger... So just the fact, he plays that technique at that speed is stunning :D
Wow, just an awesome performance. Clean feet and hand technique, that´s what a cover should sound like.
I don't think the right hand isreally moeller, it looks more like push pull because he's isolated it to alternating between the wrist and fingers. Its functionally similar to moeller, just with smaller muscles involved.
I seen a comment that he left on one of his videos that he does use the Moeller technique with his right hand, only that it's his own style, he fully holds the stick as let's his wrists do the work. xD
@XsitogrinderX It's sort of swinging the hand back and forth with the rebound of the stick. He's using it with his right hand at 0:41. You can look for it on the Vic Firth website.
@Nargal123 Honestly, the moeller technique is very natural and quite easy to learn, in my opinion. I always played like that and it feels comfortable.
@HamburgerTrain I already said, I´m not sure ´bout that! It´s just... Some drummers here on Youtube wrote comments about the moeller technique and that it is harder to learn then the flying finger thing.
But for sure you´re right, if you´re a drummer (because I´m just a guitarist) :D haha
@Nargal123 I have actuall found the moeller technique easier than the 'flying finger' technique, well with my left hand at least. Hard to get past a certain speed with my left!
Thousands of hours of practice :D I'm working around 220 myself right now, and I'm beginning to see how its possible, just takes a lot of time and hard work.
I think it's impressive how far he's developed the technique, especially power wise. He hits the snare every bit as hard as George does at those speeds, and that is VERY impressive.
yeah looking forward to the mastered studio version. my point is, if you're going to showcase your talent, show a video like marco playing at 300bpms (the speed doesn't matter, but it's the way it was done). a click, a good sound source and a good angle showing that you are in fact playing it properly. and play something original! if i wanted to watch a drummer play behemoth i'll watch inferno (for instance). anyway, that's my 2cents. keep up the hard work though.
i hate when drummers like this guy post videos of themselves with the track overpowering their playing... first of all, play something original without an overpower track or nothing but the drums, and 2nd of all record it properly... for all we know the kicks are sloppy as shit. the hands look tight but all i can hear is the snare and the odd china/crash sound. don't be cheap/lazy, record it properly.
Benkwitz is very good, but don't you all think that his right hand needs some work on the snare? Even by listening you can say which hand is on the snare at given moment. Left - clear, sharp sound, right - weak patting with random volume. Using different techniques for hands just doesn`t work here.
Are you a lefty that learning to drum on a right handed kit b.t.w? It looks like your left hand is stronger than your right, just asking. Great job either way.
just because Bring Me The Horizon happens to be one of my favorite bands DOSE not mean i don't know music you twat. on of the best drummers i know is for exempel Dirk Verbeuren or Peter wildoer. I know music better then you dumb ass. Drumming is not just about blast beats Fucking poser asshole!
And I'm talking about his right hand when playing the snare, on everything else he RIPS IT :)
